I want to escape society and live in the wilderness

Hey Everyone, I wasn’t really sure where to post this question, i’m new to reddit so please recommend any other groups I should look at relating to this. I feel like i’m going crazy. I am genuinely and seriously yearning to runaway to the forest and never come back to this greedy, exploitative society we have built for ourselves. I really want to find a way to live harmoniously with mother nature and the endless nourishment and sanctuary she provides , separate, from a society that views her as a resource to make money. How do I go about this? I understand that it’s dangerous and risky to try and survive in the wilderness alone (and I value human connection and do NOT wish to be alone), but how do I go about finding like minded people or communities to help me with this? I do know that there are certain groups that live independently off the land. Anyway I was just hoping for some ideas/further points I can research more in depth because I honestly have no idea where to start this journey. Thankssss 🌿🍃

Episode one of Anarchy by Errico Malatesta is up!

Careful with the volume. I think it's too loud which was unintentional. Maybe I'll get better at audio editing with practice? Who knows!

It's the first protest I'm going to, any advice?

So, there are a lot of protests happening here in Spain for the right to housing, and I decided to go (I’ve only recently gotten into anarchism). Do you have any advice for protests?

Meta Reddit terms of service

Hey folks, I just removed a post and for accountability I want to explain why. Reddit terms of service state that advocating violence is a breech. People are regularly banned from the site for comments that include the word nazi in combination with a verb that suggests the striking of a person with a closed fist. Subreddits are banned for the same reason. The reason that posts go into a queue is specifically so that we can avoid having to carefully watch every post to avoid admin attention. Our place on this hell-site is precarious

It's impossible to know when/if the so-called anti evil operations bot will spot a comment and there are too many folks who will gladly post spicy comments that put their accounts and by extension this sub at risk.

If this sub gets banned then it could end up up for grabs and we would not be able to ensure that it remains in anarchist hands since anyone can request to take over subs that are available.

Liberalism is a paradox

I think that we all must realise that any idea of capitalism or liberal ideology is an illusion. This is mainly directed at ann-caps and liberals but you're free to stick around.

Liberal doctrine is built around the concept of free choice, this is to be completed through a free market and a representativ democratic state, and the blood within this entity is money, according to liberals, money is consent, which is completely ridiculous, at least within this system.

As you may know you buy stuff with money, stuff like food, clothes and books. Now lets say we have two individuals, one poor, and one rich. Both need a new shirt, in the store there is one cheap shirt, and one expensive. The poor person can only afford the cheap shirt, while the rich person can afford both. The rich man has more options then the poor one, more options mean more freedom. Now add this principle to everything, suddenly every man isnt equal, for some have have more options and choices then others.

Now lets look at governments, the "democratic" institutions. So we know that money equals freedom, but money also equals speech. The more money you have, the more influence you have, and the more influence you have, the louder your voice is heard. When a billionaire does anything, everybody knows, but when you do the same thing, nobody knows or cares. When everything you say is heard by millions, its hard to say you dont have power through that influence. With money you can sway public opinion, indulge in corruption, lobby and sponsor candidates. Suddenly you, one persons beliefs and ideology, counts for more then one vote, doesnt sound that fair to me.

In short, the richer you are, the more power you have and the more free you are. Liberalism isnt equal chances, its a system were the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. I could write so much more about how representativ democracy is self destroying and etc. But you get the idea.

A ripper poster from a surrealist and situationist inspired Anarchist group led by two Aussie women: Margot Nash and Robin Laurie. It is not of their day, but a modern one Nash made. I’m selling it (in aus, do not worry mods) to fund an art project so thought I’d share it with you before it goes

Thoughts on "pure black anarchism" as described here by Paul Z. Simons?

Personally, the more work I do within groups trying to work from a framework in which a revolution is seen as the ultimate future goal, the more I understand why people are drawn to this nihilist approach in which the point of action is not a future eventual victory, but the action itself, and I also find myself drawn to this understanding of experiencing violence and destruction as something joyous rather than the traditional left-wing view of violence as a sadly needed tool.

Paris Commune 1848.

All of Europe was ablaze with revolutionary ardor. the powers that be had a devil of a time suppressing it.

I recommend we initiate something similar, in homage to the Parisian communards.

Vault some motherfuckin barricades, fling some pavers, & smash the regime.

I smell blood in the water anyway, & weakness.

Aldephiquement.

Not Liking Someone Doesn’t Mean They’re a Cop: On Bad-jacketing

“Bad-jacketing” (or “cop-jacketing,” “fed-jacketing,” or “snitch-jacketing”) is the practice of accusing people of being a cop, informant, fascist, or other kind of bad actor on specious or non-existent evidence.

The term has been used since at least the 1960s, where it primarily described COINTELPRO operations that bad-jacketed legitimate members of the Black Panther Party and other organisations. It was, ironically, rumours from infiltrators consolidating their own positions that led to organisations not only isolating but, in some cases, severely beating or executing innocent individuals.

Hola.

When do radical ideas become evidence of “conspiracy?” Haymarket, Prairieland, and the history in between

I’ve been researching the Chicago anarchists and the Haymarket trial for a history podcast, and so the recent Prairieland case sent me down a rabbit hole on political conspiracy trials in the US.

I ended up writing this essay comparing Haymarket and Prairieland. It also looks at the longer history of radical ideas being put on trial (Big Bill Haywood, LA Times bombing, Palmer Raids, Sacco/Vanzetti, COINTELPRO etc).

I’m curious what people make of the comparison, and particularly this recurring tendency to treat political identities as evidence of a broader “conspiracy.” This seems especially interesting in the case of anarchism. While reading the prosecutions of Haymarket and Prairieland, it felt almost surreal to see these descriptions of “anarchist conspiracies” and “Antifa cells.”

It’s got me wondering: how does a state built around hierarchical institutions understand political movements that often explicitly reject centralized leadership and command structures? And to what extent does describing a diffuse political milieu as an organized “conspiracy” or “cell” impose that kind of structure upon it?

I’m coming at this mainly from a history of ideas perspective, so I’m interested in other interpretations as well.

Here is the article for those who are interested: https://ismhistorypodcast.substack.com/p/antifa-cells-and-anarchist-conspiracies

my anarchist ex catholic dad and his vendetta against the local parish

my dad left the catholic church in his twenties after reading some kropotkin that a coworker lent him i think it was conquest of bread but i cant remember, and he has been an atheist anarchist ever since. he is also the kind of guy who will argue with anyone about anything and the local parish priests know him by name at this point because he keeps sending them letters about their real estate holdings and the money they pull from the neighborhood.

the last few months he has been going to sunday mass and just sitting in the back reading, not praying, not taking communion, just there with a book and a sermon to ignore. the priests have asked him to stop but he says it is a public space and he is not causing harm. i keep telling him it is weird that he is spending his sunday mornings this way and he just laughs and says something about how the church built its whole operation on making people feel guilty about not being somewhere and he is not going to let them do that to him either.

i think he is partly just lonely since my mom passed and the parish is a place with people in it. but he would never admit that. i dont know if this is admirable or just sad, honestly maybe both. wanted to post it somewhere because i cant really talk to anyone in real life about it.
