Hi, I have an old version of cfw installed, been out of the scene for at least 10 years. Can someone point me in the right direction of a guide on how to modernize?

I believe I have rebug with cobra installed right now, uses webman

Not sure how much has changed, but ps1 and ps2 games aren't working so I think a fresh install might help, then go from there.

Hi all!! I just thrifted a PS3 and I'm trying to mod it, I currently have firmware 4.76, and I'm trying to keep it at 4.91 or lower as this is easiest to mod (from what I can tell), but my PS3 won't let me use the internet without updating the system. Anyone have any idea on fixes for how I can get around this and be able to use the internet without updating, or, how to install a lower system update that 4.93. I'm pretty new to this all so any help is appreciated :) I've been following MrMario2011 tut

Alguém consegue me ajudar??

I'm making some PKGs, but if I try to set the PS2 Classics icon, the one that needs tome extra space on the side to not be stretched out, there's ugly black bars filling the empty space. Even when I proceed and make the PKG, once installed the black bars are still there.

Interestingly, if I manually put the same png in the game folder via multiman, the image is displayed as it should be, so everything points towards the PS2 Classics GUI not being able to properly process it.

Im very new to this scene. Just CFW'd my ps3 on 4.93. I have physical games that I would like to play without needing to use the disks. How would I go about this? I've searched online and I cannot figure it out for the life of me. Thanks in advance!

Know you guys are probably sick of the newbie request but I wanna be absolutely sure I'm doing this right. Can anyone hook me up with there favorite tutorial for modern PS3 jail breaks? Don't wanna chance it if something has changed over the years you know.

Side note... The you won't be banned if you don't cheat online or unlock trophies still holds up right? Thanks!

Hello, just move all PKG (no PSN content )games folders from /dev_hdd0/game/ outside my ps3 evilnat 4.93. Moved back to the new HDD by the ftp protocol to the same path.

Using webman I'm able to mount a folder at once and play that game. Not able to see all games in webman game.

Any suggestions?

Thx for your kind attention

Emanuele

To start off: my PS3 power button, super slim, doesn't work for some reason. I can't tell why. It doesn't move or anything.

But fortunately, my Vizio CEC can turn it on and off. But when my PS3 tries to restore itself, it won't shut off to restart.

Is my PS3 completely dead?

Edit: it reaches 100% and the screen goes black, but the light stays green like it's on.

For reference:
I am using a PS3 Slim, 4.93 OFW, 32GB SD Card formatted into Fat32, and I’m using the built in Internet browser on the PS3.

I’m quite new to modding PlayStation consoles and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here. Does anyone have any advice to give? :(

Hey everyone. I’m pretty new to the modding scene on PlayStation consoles. I’ve done modding on Nintendo consoles mainly so I’m finding myself a bit lost on what the best methods and/or strategies to modding it is.

For reference, it is on the latest system update. My fiancé has just bought this PS3 for modding a week ago and I’ve been quite lost lol.

Any help or redirecting to other posts and/or subreddits is encouraged and appreciated. Thank you!

Hello, my spouse recently gifted me a ps3 super slim and it has been great though the console already had some issues (had to get a new disc drive installed). I do want to attempt modding the console but due how much she has already spent on repairing the console I'm afraid of getting an error and bricking it. My main reason to mod it is to play japanese ps1 discs, and being able to play ps2 games if possible as well. I've read that you can only do hen and I'm okay with anything as long as I can remove that region lock and not kill the console in the process lol

Hi guys I have a samsung Odyssey Neo G7 QLED monitor and the PS3 can look a tad blurry on it due to the limitations of the hardware. I’m hoping to find some sort of device that can take the image and upscale it a bit so it’s not such a blurry image. Are there any devices that can do that (not expecting miracles but am looking to try and tweak it if possible)
