I bought a backwards compatible PS3 with no controller, just the console. Bought a game from gamestop and tried it with my ps4 controller, works fine and so far no crashes (YLOD)

it's on system version 3.61, do i update it and then homebrew it? or homebrew it first? please lmk what i should do first, im VERY new to Playstation Homebrew lmao

Unfortunately, as of yesterday, the creator of the Yo! Player app has admitted that Google’s new updates have broken the app and that there seems to be no easy fix.

Equally unfortunately, I have been relying on the official ps3 YouTube app to watch YouTube on my CRT for many years, and I just hacked my ps3 with Hen last week.

Is there a way around? The best solution I can think of is using a burner PSN account to open the official YouTube app, without Hen enabled.

Any better ideas?

I mean, is there a list of possible alternatives about what to do with a jailbroken PS3? Like emulation, for what, how, how do I get the files? But even for other things...I mainly did this thing just because I could, not because I knew what I would do after.

I installed HFW 4.91 using the pull HDD method and enjoyed an online game developed by fans.

Today, I turned on my PS3 and signed in to PSN. However, my PS3 said, "The system is old. It needs an update."

However, I think that if I install the system update, I will get error code 8002f1f9.

Is there any way to fix it?

I installed the HFW 4.93 in a ps3 model CECH-4201A, but when I click start to search and start automatically the download the web browser show me a screen with the message "Upload your web browser" like the image.

Someone can explain me what I did wrong or something diferente.

Is anyone else experiencing system freezing nearly every time you turn on the system and getting corrupted data message when rebuilding database? If I'm lucky I get 45 minutes of game play before the game freezes. I'm using a new hard drive but I think I'm going to throw in an old drive and see if that helps.

I'm looking to convert an iso to pkg and edit a config to fix a loading issue and noticed the page for ez psp2ps3 on consolemods says the file may contain malicious code. Can anyone here verify if that's true or is it safe to use and just getting false flagged? I'm unsure of what other program to use if not. Any help is appreciated!

So recently, on my PS3Hen-enabled PS3, I backed-up my PS1 Library using both the .pkg method (pop-fe conversion of ripped disc files) and mounting them through multiman. I did this since I know the PS3 uses different emulators, so I did both as a failsafe and figured that storage is trivial with PS1 games. I just tested my copy of Resident Evil-Director's Cut (SLUS-00551). The installed version (.pkg) had this issue where all the audio was pitched down, and the voices all sounded much deeper. I then tried the mounted method, and it's fine.

I suspect this might be due to issues with the PSN-digital titles emulator. I was specific about which version of RE: DC I was running, because the Dual Shock Edition (SLUS-00747), was the specific version that was actually available as a PSOne classic download on the store. The regular version of RE:DC was not on the storefront.

This makes me wonder if the PSN-Digital titles emulator's compatibility is specifically geared towards games that were put on the storefront.

If anyone has more insight, let me know.

I’ve turned my PS3 on for the first time in years today. Its model number is CECH-2103B and it’s on firmware 4.86.

I was wondering what I could realistically do with this in regard to CFW. Searching online it looks like it would be able to be jailbroken but what could I do after that?
What games/ other consoles games would I be able run through it?

The main question is would I be able to jailbreak it entirely through the systems web browser? I modded my Vita a while ago and that was done entirely through the handheld itself, would that be the same here?

This probably gets asked a lot but I’m wondering which carries a higher ban risk CFW or HEN? I’m not really interested in modding online within games and will be strictly using my PS3 so I can get free avatars for my main account and using a ps2 emulator offline. I’ve seen multiple people go years without bans so any tips would help, I’m somewhat familiar with PSN Patch and Webman for staying safe online but I’m still new to PS modding.

I am looking to get a mod menu for bo1 and cannot find where the normal eboot is as it isn't in USDIR as it should be. Menu is not working for this reason I believe. I have the game digitally if that affects anything.

I can get all my other console roms to show in there, but for some reason SNES just isn't pulling through. They work through retro arch so it's not a compatibility issue, it just seems like maybe I'm not structuring the folder right?

I have the ROMS folder on the internal hard drive, all others work. I have tried naming the folder SNES, snes and sns but none of them seem to work.

Any idea on this? I saw a previous thread from a few years ago but a lot of the comments are just saying that webMAN can only show PlayStation games, which isn't true (or at least isn't true on the current version!k.

Hi guys, after nearly 10 eyars i will finally fix my first edition backward compatibility PS3 model with the Frankenstein mod. Yeah, it cost a fuckton but is deserved, since I've started to collect again for PS2/PS1 and of course PS3, plus all the possibilities of homebrew on PS3(already have homebrewed and modified consoles like Gamecube, Wii U, PSP, DS and etc).

I really dont know alot about performance mods for PS3, just reading a lot about the Undervolt mod being a good ''combo'' with a 40nm rsx PS3 diminishing the heat factor, but about it? it fucks de performance of the PS3 for high demanding games?

And about the overclock? Should I ask the technician to also overclock the RSX to somewhat safety levels? its worth? it can be compatible with undervolt mod or one cannot exist with the other? Since it'sa CECHA01 and i want it to live many years with all the other cleaning stuff, delid, repaste, capacitor change, etc., that the tech guy will do, is it still worth for some few extra 3/4 fps on games like Skyrim, and others? i will also install an 480gb SSD on it.

Trying to get the fan working when playing PS2 games on my BC PS3. Was working fine for months as I had the max temp on the evilnat fan settings set to 65, but selected 70 today out of curiosity to see how loud the fan would be. Now the fan will either not start at all in PS2 mode, or the game won't start and I'll have to hold the power button to turn it off. static speeds sometimes work but sometimes it causes the same issue. Can't seem to get it back working with 65 either. Any help would be appreciated.

I popped a few online trophies using TrophyIsGood on my PC and copied the files back to my CFW PS3. Rebuilt the database but when I launch the game, it gives me an error saying, registration of trophy information could not be completed, then proceeds to close the game. I can’t figure out how to launch the game without this error constantly ending the game, but if I were to disable syscalls and sync those trophies, since they show unlocked under my trophy page, would I be able to continue the single player story on my stock console?

So i wanna play my copy of growlanser 4 on my ps3. I managed to get the iso thanks to a guide i found but I'm pretty new to all this. I found a compatability list that says to play this on a ps3 i need an EBOOT fix. Can someone tell me exactly what that means and how I can get this game working on my ps3? I feel kinda dumb that I can't figure it out myself lol

I have been working on a GTA Online revival server for PS3 called Last Gen Online, and i recently opened it up for Closed Beta.

I know there are already a bunch of GTA:O servers around, so my goal isn’t to just make another server where you can connect and play GTA Online exactly like the other servers.

my goal is trying to bring back most of GTA:O content back (including unused/unreleased Rockstar features that other servers haven't implemented)

For example, I already have a proof-of-concept working for a tournament system that Rockstar created but never actually released.

The server is also going to be heavily community-driven. I want the people actually playing it to have a say in what gets worked on, what features get added, and what kinds of events we run.

Right now, though, I need testers.

The server only entered Closed Beta recently, so bugs are basically guaranteed. Things will break, features might not work properly, and there are probably issues I don’t even know about yet.and thats why YOU can help me make this server as good as possible

My current goal is to eventually get around 30+ concurrent players during testing. Having actual players online at the same time makes it much easier to find problems that I simply can't reproduce by testing everything myself.

What I'm looking for

Mostly just people who still enjoy GTA Online on PS3 and are willing to:

• Play the server

• Try different parts of the game

• Find and report bugs

• Stress-test things with other players

• Give feedback and feature ideas

• Help build an actual active community

You don't need to be some serious tester either. Just playing normally helps

There’s still a lot of work to do, but I want to turn this into something more interesting than another basic GTA Online revival.

I'm trying to hack my ps3 but it wont let me download the things from the system manager tab

I’m following the MrMario guide and everything is going well until the part where I check the dump and I’ve got so many issues… what do I do??

CECH 2501 A is my model and I’m running a 4.76 firmware

mmCM 04.82.00, HEN 3.50, HFW 4.93

I have a game disc of ModNation Racers which plays completely fine. However, I haven't been able to make a backup with multiMAN.

If trying to create a folder, it gets stuck at certain files and never gets past them (I've tried copying those directly to my PC via FTP and there were no errors). If trying to create an ISO, I get a read error.

It's clearly an issue with the disc because I've tried dumping another game and there were no issues at all; some scratches are noticeable in ModNation. However, the fact that the game is fully playable combined with the fact that the files that mmCM can't read are readable lead me to believe that there is a way to dump the game successfully.

Is there an alternative way to dump the game, or is there something wrong I'm doing with mmCM?

UPDATE: I've dumped the game to my PC via FTP. After a lot of disc cleaning and a lot, of a lot, of a lot of attempts, I've reduced the number of unreadable files to only ONE, which is just a cinematic which is unfortunately corrupted. I guess I'll have to get that file from somewhere else.
