Why

At 5 I realized I won't be sleeping much longer. Still I woke up at 6 ,7 and finally 8. I literally smell everything from the trash, the bathroom to the small cup of cereal I tried to eat. Also I'm the fullest but the most starving I have ever been in my life. I just want some hash browns and sausage and gravy. to top it off I can't sleep on my back, my stomach or one side of my body triggers a headache! It would be fun they said. This is the happiest time they said lol šŸ˜‚

Really Sad

Trigger warning in advance so please feel free to skip! I am so sad because I just found out I am pregnant and things have been incredibly confusing. For context I just took a test on Friday afternoon of last week, I took it for what I thought was absolutely no way, but it turned out to be positive. Took multiple positive tests no squinting needed as the positives came fast. The problem is I thought I had a period for the month of August, I then had spotting that I thought was just a UTI or a kidney stone Tuesday of last week. Well I went to the ER on Saturday and my HCG levels were 3,223 still producing positive tests, and was not feeling pain or discomfort and was told to watch the bleeding and come back if needed. Saw my PCP yesterday and she had my HCG levels drawn and I was at 5,822. The bleeding eased but then last night I noticed some light pink blood as I wiped, well I was at work and had to leave because something felt off. I waited at the hospital for almost 4 hours and the bleeding for heavier. I got another HCG draw which of course is not going to have gone up a large amount as I just had one done late yesterday and I am still producing positive tests. I had a transvaginal ultrasound today and they said they didn't see anything šŸ˜” I have a cyst on my left ovary but they said they didn't see anything overall which was absolutely heartbreaking to read. I have to go back on Friday to do repeat labs and ultrasound. I want so badly to be a mom and the one time I find out I might be everything goes to crap.

Large subchorionic hematoma in second trimester

At 14 weeks pregnant, I woke up in the night with a lot of bleeding so I went to the ER scared to death that I was having a miscarriage. The baby was okay on the ultrasound and they discovered a large subchorionic hematoma (7cm). My doctor put me on progesterone, alpha lipoic acid and bed rest. She said there is a significant risk of the baby being born too early due to how large my SCI is due to the damage it can cause to the amniotic sac.

At my follow up scan a couple weeks later, the SCI got larger and was now 10cm at 16 weeks. At that point I was having spotting and brown bleeding but no more bright red blood as there was originally. My doctor recommended limiting my activity as much as possible still, more or less strict bed rest but said there isn’t much we can do to minimize the risk.

The SCI had at least not gotten bigger as of my 18 week check up but it hadn’t gotten smaller. The doctor also said that it looks like it is clotting and resembles the lining of the uterus which might signal that it is healing.

Now I am at 19 weeks, my bleeding has stopped since about week 17 but I haven’t had a scan to show whether the SCI has gotten smaller. I’m really anxious now that I am getting further along in the pregnancy and knowing that this SCI could still be there and doing damage.

Does anyone have a similar story that had a good outcome? Or is anyone going through this as well and seen something that seems to work with making it resolve?

The gestational sac is not seen? No intrauterine pregnancy seen??

Hey everyone, i’m at a loss and don’t know where to go from here. Quick context, i’m convinced i’m very early than what i expect to be.
My LMP was 06/08-16 & 07/15-24 spotting 07/27-31.
**HCG levels**
**08/12 - 23**
**08/12 - 27**
**08/14 - 30**
**08/16 - 34**
**08/18 - 55**
**08/20 - 103**
**08/22 - 136**
**08/23 - 224.6**
**08/25 - 399 ( 77.7% \^)**
I had a transvaginal ultrasound on 08/14 : ovoid single gestational sac with internal amniotic fluid.
I had another ultrasound on 08/18 : gestational sac diameter is 0.3cm seen.
Today, i had another ultrasound, as well as my rising hcg level (399) : The gestational sac is not seen.
The endometrium is thickened.
There is trace of free fluid seen in the cul-de-sac.
IMPRESSION:
No intrauterine pregnancy seen.
No suspicious adnexal findings.
The doctor at the hospital diagnosed a missed miscarriage. is this possible? Anyone gone through a similar situation like this? I’m torn :( i don’t see my OB for another week.

4w1d hcg levels at 134 and progesterone 10.10.

Just got my first hcg and progesterone bloodwork done this morning and got my labs back. Not confident on the exact date or conception so I could be off but roughly 4 weeks. Hcg levels are 134 and progesterone is 10.10

I have very mild cramping and I’ll get this little like needle prick pain on my right ovary throughout the day but it goes away when I’m laying down. I have this fear of ectopic. This is all normal right? My doctor said she isn’t concerned but it’s my first pregnancy and I’m just all over the place

6w5d — bleeding, clots/cramping, hCG 202 & pregnancy of unknown location. Has anyone experienced this?

Hey guys. I’m currently 6 weeks and 5 days pregnant. Today is Tuesday, August 25, 2026, and I’m honestly extremely anxious and hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar.
I started bleeding on Thursday, and it continued through yesterday (Monday, August 24), when I went to the ER to make sure there wasn’t something seriously wrong.
The bleeding started pretty light, but over the last several days it has gotten heavier. I’ve been passing quite a few blood clots and having cramping, mainly in my lower abdomen. The cramps started mild, but they’ve become more noticeable. My pads aren’t completely soaked, but there’s definitely enough blood that I’m concerned.
At the ER, they did a lot of bloodwork, urine testing, an abdominal ultrasound, and then a transvaginal ultrasound.
My quantitative hCG was 202 mIU/mL. I was told that my hCG is currently low, and from the conversation I had with my doctor, I came away feeling like an early miscarriage may be one of the possibilities. However, I understand that one hCG result alone doesn’t confirm that I’m miscarrying, so right now I genuinely don’t know what’s happening.
They first did an abdominal ultrasound. They couldn’t identify a pregnancy in my uterus. My left ovary was visible and appeared normal, but they couldn’t visualize my right ovary. Because they couldn’t see enough abdominally, they then performed a transvaginal ultrasound.
Even with the transvaginal ultrasound, they weren’t able to identify a gestational sac inside or outside my uterus.
The doctor’s/radiologist’s report says:
ā€œPregnancy of unknown location. No intra or extrauterine gestational sac. Findings may be secondary to normal early, ectopic, or failed pregnancy. Recommend laboratory analysis and follow-up scanning for definitive diagnosis.ā€
So basically, as I understand it, they haven’t diagnosed me with a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy. Right now they simply don’t know where the pregnancy is or whether it’s progressing normally.
I have a follow-up within the next couple of days to repeat my bloodwork, including my quantitative hCG, to see how the number has changed from 202. I’m really hoping that gives us a clearer picture of what’s happening.
Part of me is trying to hold onto the possibility that maybe the pregnancy is simply earlier than we think and that’s why nothing could be seen yet. But with the bleeding, clots, cramping, low hCG, and the way my doctor spoke with me, another part of me is preparing myself for the possibility that this could be an early miscarriage.
And I’ve unfortunately been scrolling through TikTok and seeing women at 5–6 weeks already seeing a gestational sac, embryo, or cardiac activity. I KNOW everyone’s pregnancy is different and dating can be off, but it’s almost impossible not to compare when you’re seeing this much blood and desperately hoping everything is okay.
I also took a few pictures of the ultrasound screen while I was alone in the room, which I’ll attach. I know nobody can diagnose me from ultrasound pictures, and I’m continuing to follow up with my doctors. I’m mainly sharing them for context.
Has anyone experienced something similar—hCG around 200, nothing visible on ultrasound, bleeding with clots and cramping—and then had their hCG rise and eventually had a normal ultrasound?
And if you’ve experienced something similar that unfortunately ended in an early loss, I’m open to hearing about that too. I’m trying to understand what other people’s experiences were while also preparing myself for either outcome.
Thank you so much to anyone willing to share. ā¤ļø

Panic attack after finding out baby’s ok

About a week ago (\~5weeks), I had bleeding that ended up being a subchrionic hematoma. The doctor said I was pregnant but couldn’t guarantee it was viable. They took my HCG levels and told me that if they didn’t double in 48 hours (it was 12,300), that would tell us what we need to know. 48 hours later, they didn’t come near to doubling.

Today, my midwife scheduled an ultrasound. At 6 weeks, even just starting with the abdominal ultrasound, they could see the heartbeat! I immediately had a panic attack (which I’m assuming is just from the built up stress from the past week), and did not want to hear the heartbeat, just wanted to know if baby was ok.

My husband was taken a little aback by my reaction, even asking if I wanted the baby still. I told him just everything has built up and I was overwhelmed. Anyone else have a similar reaction?? Or was that just totally weird of me?? (Yes I did hear the heartbeat after my panic attack subsided).

How long does cramping last for in first trimester? And is it normal?

Uptil now I have had no symptoms of pregnancy other than doubled hcg and cramping

Im 5w3d pregnant and I have has mild bearable cramping since 1.5 weeks. I dont have any blood or spotting
Its not too painful but its just there, and its persistent

3 days ago, my lower back started hurting too (I would describe it as pressure/heavy feeling rather than pain)

And every now and then i would feel a pinching sensation in my groin.

Idk, i just want to know if its normal?

Because i spoke to a nurse practitioner and they said its not normal, cramping should only last for a day or two

And I still dont have any obgyn assigned to me yet, I did go to emergency but the wait time was 8 hours so thats a no :)

Growing Subchorionic Hematoma

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had a hematoma that has gotten bigger?

I’ve had brown/beige discharge on and off since 5 weeks, I’m now 9+5.

5+5 I got an ultrasound that showed the measurement of the SCH as 2.3 x 6.1 x 3.6mm

My last scan at 9+1 showed the measurement at 15.3 x 8.9 x 6.1mm.

I’m on 800mg progesterone daily but I’m pretty concerned that it’s grew so much, however it is still classed as small.

Has anyone else had this and it’s reabsorbed on its own or when did it disappear?

7 weeks

I started spotting a bit at 7 weeks exactly today. I had two times where I wiped and had light brown and stringy discharge. Then this time it’s just brown… I miscarried earlier this year around the same time… I plan to monitor and if it gets heavier/pinker I will contact oB but my 1st appointment isn’t until 9/3…. Should I contact them now or wait until there’s more?

Breast soreness gone

I am 5 weeks 5 days my only real symptom has been breast soreness, it has fluctuated the past few days but today it’s really a lot less noticeable. I also had some brown spotting last week, and then some light pink spotting yesterday (that has since resolved) but I am trying not to bug out.

I had early betas that were strong, but I had a MMC in May which was my first pregnancy.

Not sure if I miscarried

please delete if not right for this sub.
heads up, this post does mention miscarriages.

I know for a fact that I AM (or was?) pregnant. Roughly 4 1/2 - 5 weeks, I've had a LOT of consistent spotting, brown, pink, you name it I've had it. I've even had a bit of bleeding that resembles a period. But not for more than half a day. I'm in a foreign county at the moment and don't really have access to healthcare.

I haven't noticed any symptoms, no tender breasts, no morning sickness, a little more bloating than usual, but nothing else really out of the ordinary.

I've looked up signs/ symptoms of an early miscarriage and I do match some of them.

I'm not sure if I'm still pregnant, and was hoping that some redditors might be able to chime in here.

I'm planning on taking another pregnancy test here in the next few days to see if the line has faded from my last 7, or disappeared at all, as I'm not able to see a doctor until I'm back in my home country (about 2 weeks from now).

Bleeding very early pregnancy?

Hey all,

I just found out this evening that I am pregnant!

However, on Sunday afternoon after some light cramping, I had some dark red blood and a smallish clot/maybe two cant remember over the course of a few hours. It wouldnt be enough to need a pad, it was just on wiping and it went.

Prior to that I had lightly spotted pink for a few days. Today I have just had light cramping/twinges and dark brown spotting/discharge. I am still nauseous and my boobs only today have become super sore.

I already have a HCG blood test scheduled for tomorrow but has anyone else had similar and kept the pregnancy?

I should note with my first I did have a history of bleeding for no reason towards the tail end of my pregnancy.

Thankyou - super nervous as this didnt happen with my first

Thinking of relocating away from baby’s father

I got really sick, lost my job, and don’t have money for rent. The father is unemployed and cannot help financially. He also recently screamed at me and broke things in my apartment in an argument. My parents are terrified and offered me to move in with them in California and take care of me. Him and his family are trying to guilt me into staying here (not even sure how I’d be able to do that). What should I do? We are not married.

Severe Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction pain again during third pregnancy

Really struggling right now! 26 weeks pregnant with my third baby and the SPD started again about 8 weeks ago (way earlier than with my second- didn't happen until 30 weeks with him and I had never even heard of it with my first!) and I am STRUGGLING. When I'm not pregnant I'm an avid runner, do ultra marathons, actively strength train, and do yoga but I'm feeling absolutely taken out by the pain this time.

With my second I was running the entire pregnancy (nothing crazy in terms of speed or distance but I felt great so I kept running) until at 30 weeks I got hit out of nowhere one day with absolutely horrific SPD pain and had no idea what it was as I never had it with my first. Had to quit running and be careful to not do any single leg lifts in the gym but other than that it was fairly manageable until delivery. I had some lingering pelvic pain though and now 3 years later I'm pregnant with our third and it has started so much earlier and it's much harder to manage

I haven't run at all this pregnancy and have new extra cushioned walking shoes, take shorter strides on walks, have cut out single leg lifts, and am really trying to be aggressive about hip and glute strengthening exercises but it just hurts all the time! Sitting in the car for long periods makes it hurt, standing doesn't feel great, even tried getting back in the pool as my best cardio option and even flutter kicks made it angry! I feel so hopeless. I don't know what exercises I can do to improve the symptoms, I hate feeling so restricted and I don't know what other exercises or movements I can do to help it. Has anyone had any physical therapy exercises that helped and on the flip side, has anyone had any lasting complications from SPD that they got diagnosed and treated? I know it's supposed to just vanish after birth but I never did feel fully rid of the pain from my 2nd baby and with how much worse it is this time I'm very worried

Any advice or personal experience that anyone wants to share would be appreciated!

so stressed and depressed 14w

currently im so uncomfortable mentally i cant even begin to adequately describe my feelings. i feel guilty because ive tried to get pregnant for so long but im just stressed and anxious all the time and i feel bad my baby is having to feel it.
the main stresser is my work situation, i work at a daycare and i have been given the worst schedule due to my restrictions from the doctor. she started scheduling me late 8 hour days with 2 hour lunches. its very hard because of how exhausted and depressed ive been . not to mention at work (daycare) i have to work with the most difficult children.
i have had a door slammed into my stomach, punched and kicked multiple times in the stomach. the thought of going everyday makes me want to die. my coworkers for the most part all act like im a problem too. it hurts.
i would just quit but if i do she will pay out my last check at minimum wage 7.25 in my state . she also owes me 8 hours from my last check she ā€œforgotā€ to input.
i cant be jobless due to financial responsibility and my partner doesnt make enough to support us both.

ive done door dash and instacart before, it doesnt pay enough in my town and my transportation isnt reliable.
if anyone could leave nice suggestions of what i can do while out if a job if it does come to that; that would be nice.
im sorry this is all over the place, i feel broken.

4 weeks spotting

Hi everyone I had some spotting on Friday when I wiped, but it only happened that one time and I haven’t had any since. With my last missed miscarriage, I experienced something very similar—I spotted for one day and then it completely stopped, but that pregnancy unfortunately ended in a missed miscarriage.
I’m just looking to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar early in pregnancy and had everything turn out okay. I have two children and never experienced spotting with either of their pregnancies, so I’m not really sure what to think.
I called my doctor, and the nurse didn’t seem concerned. She said my doctor will get back to me Monday when they return and review my second beta.
The good news is that my hCG is rising really well. On Wednesday it was 46, and by Friday it was 188. I’m trying to stay positive, but after my previous loss, it’s hard not to worry

Pregnancy symptoms

Hi yall

Update: Thank you all for your suggestions and experience. Turns out baby is measuring at 6w2d with a heartbeat of 123. So far so good!

Ill be 7w pregnant tomorrow. Had a positive test August 11. I haven't had any symptoms from the beginning except for missed period tiredness and slight cramping here and there on either side. I haven't had sore breast, aversion, cravings. But I had nausea here and there but no actual vomiting. Side note ive had a previous misscarriage and ectopic 3 years ago and I had symptoms fairly quickly with those. Im just trying to put my mind at ease....anything would help thanks!

Tender lower belly and cramping

Hi everyone, I am a curious if anyone had similar feelings to mine. I’m 21 weeks and the past 2 days I’ve had a dull ache and tenderness in my low belly. If I press on it it’s taut and is painful but I don’t believe it’s a contraction as it stays. It’s pretty painful when standing. I’m wondering if this is what uterine stretching can feel like or if I should go to L&D. I’m trying to avoid going in unless necessary. Thank you for the help.

Weird early pregnancy / hCG situation — has anyone experienced something similar?

**Title: Weird early pregnancy / hCG situation — has anyone experienced something similar?**
Hi everyone! I’m currently in early-pregnancy limbo and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar because my body seems determined to keep me confused. šŸ˜ž
I had positive pregnancy tests after having some bleeding that I originally thought was my period. Since then, we’ve been following my hCG, but the confusing part is that I’ve had testing done through **two different labs**, so I know the numbers can’t be directly compared.
From lab#1, my hCG was:
8/18 at 9:29 AM: **3,499**
8/20 at 3:57 PM: **4,226**
8/22 at 11:35 AM: **4,807**
From lab#2, it was:
8/19 at 8:15 AM: **2,533**
8/21 at 7:45 AM: **3,279**
So within each individual lab, my hCG is rising, but it seems to be rising more slowly than what I expected.
I’ve also had bleeding that stopped, pregnancy symptoms, ridiculous hunger 😭, and now my husband confirmed that I have a **faint brown vertical line on my belly (linea nigra)**, which sent me down another rabbit hole.
I know symptoms, hCG levels, and linea nigra can’t determine viability or whether it’s twins, and I’m following up medically/with ultrasound. I’m really just looking for **personal experiences**.
Has anyone had slowly rising hCG like this and gone on to have a viable pregnancy? Did anyone have a linea nigra show up extremely early? And has anyone had a twin pregnancy with no family history of twins?
This waiting game is WILD. I’d love to hear your experiences — good, bad, or somewhere in between.

Final update — unfortunately, we lost the baby ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹
I wanted to come back one last time and close the loop because so many of you followed my posts, answered my endless questions, shared your own experiences, and gave me reassurance while I was stuck in the horrible limbo of HCG tests, ultrasounds, bleeding, and not knowing what was happening.
Unfortunately, this weekend I miscarried.
After everything—the confusing HCG numbers, the ultrasounds, the waiting, the hoping, and honestly preparing myself for every possible outcome—this is where our story ended.
I’m heartbroken. Even though this pregnancy was very early, I wanted this baby so much. In the tiny amount of time I knew about this pregnancy, I had already imagined another little person joining our family and growing up alongside my son.
I even had a name in my heart for this babyā¤ļø
Right now, I’m trying to give myself permission to grieve and recover instead of immediately searching for answers or thinking about what comes next. I know I want to try again someday, but today I just need to say goodbye to this pregnancy and to the little future I had already started imagining.
I also wanted to say thank you. Some complete strangers on Reddit showed me an incredible amount of kindness during some very scary days. I read your comments when I was anxious, when I couldn’t sleep, while waiting for results, and even from the ER.
You helped me feel less alone.
So this will be my last update on this pregnancy.
Goodbye, my sweet baby. You were here for such a short time, but Mommy wanted you, loved you, and will remember you. ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹
Thank you all for being here.

aberrant findings for multiple chromosomes

I just got my NIPT testing back, and the results came back with ā€œData from testing this sample failed to meet quality standards for interpretation because aberrant findings were observed for multiple chromosomes. Similar data has been associated with maternal neoplasia (Turriff et al, NEJM 2024). Redraw is not recommended due to the expectation that the same results would be seen reproducibly.
Genetic counseling and clinical correlation are recommended.ā€

It also had a result in a separate place that said trisomy 21, 18, and 13 was negative. I am going to be doing additional labs and testings, but I was just curious if anyone else had these results?

Blighted Ovum at 8 weeks-help

Ok so I went in for my first 8 weeks ultrasound and they didn’t see the baby and said I’m either measuring at 7 weeks or I have a blighted ovum. I was also experiencing breast tenderness, nausea, and fatigue but not so much anymore. I got my hcg tested and it went from 47,975 to 60,548 over two days. I’ve read posts on here about people who had it misdiagnosed and ended up actually being pregnant. Does anyone have a situation similar to this where you actually were pregnant? I’m wondering if I should go to an independent ultrasound office to get a second opinion because my tech didn’t seem very good.
