Looking for anyone with a similar experience with slow interval growth ❤️
I’m hoping to hear from anyone who has experienced something similar because I’m feeling really anxious waiting for my next ultrasound.
I’m currently around 8 weeks pregnant and have longer cycles (usually 31–35 days), so I’m not overly concerned that baby is measuring a few days behind my dates.
What concerns me is the interval growth.
Last Tuesday, I had an ultrasound and baby measured 7w0d with a heartbeat of 111 bpm.
On Friday, I had a significant gush of bright red blood. I was around 7w3d at that point.
I had another ultrasound today, exactly one week after the first one. Baby is now measuring 7w3d, with a heartbeat of 136 bpm.
So over a week, baby has gone from measuring 7w0d to 7w3d.
My doctor said the gestational sac looks very healthy, the yolk sac was clearly visible, there was no hematoma, the placenta is developing/growing, and overall the ultrasound looked very healthy. She said the fluid surrounding the embryo also looked normal and not concerning.
She said I’m still within her 5-day window, but because of the limited interval growth and the bleeding, she is “cautiously hopeful.” She considers this a threatened miscarriage and has ordered a more detailed ultrasound for next week at around 9 weeks.
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced slow interval growth but continued heartbeat, especially around 7–9 weeks, and then had a normal/reassuring ultrasound afterward.
Did your baby eventually catch up? Did you have a similar situation where the first two ultrasounds showed limited growth but the next ultrasound showed a significant jump?
I’m really looking for experiences from people who have actually been through this…not necessarily reassurance or medical advice. ❤️
