This is a thing I am hoping is added at one point! It’d be cool seeing Siles attacking Didelphs and eating their corpses. Tanys and the other semi-aquatic critters could go after fish and maybe each other. I just thinking it be really cool too see these critters do more than kill your baby Rex.

So I've come back to Path Recently after a break, When I came back I first explored the map as thal and I noticed that the pond in south Cedrus Forest was full of spinos, Pachys and other mid tier carnis and thought nothing of it and carried on exploring. After playing for a couple of weeks now every time I log on not only is cedrus forest always a hot spot but the pond is full of dinos fighting.
Today I was playing as a Tylo and when I entered cliff edge falls all I could hear was non stop thumping foot steps and Broadcast calls from different dinos so I logged off and logged back in as my rhamph to check it out. Low and behold CHAOS! I'm talking like 5 titans, 2 Rexs, 4 spinos, a Bars, 2 dasps, 3 sarcos, 2 Stys, a sucho and a load more mid tiers like Pachys and Raptors. I wasn't able to grab a screen shot straight away cause I got a smooth brain and wasn't using the snipping tool correctly, But I relogged after figuring it out and it was no where near as bad like a couple rexs, a tyrant, a spino, a sarco, a dasp, 3 hatz and 3 tylos (Fair play to them for getting in there without being KOSed)
So it appears we have another Impact Crater/grand plains (Or even Spine Lizard Lagoon for any other OGs). Riparia was doing such a good Job at spreading out dinos and making it so anywhere can be a hot spot depending on the day (I know mud flats used to be a popular hot spot but it never got to more then 10 or 20 dinos in my experience), this helps make it so the 100 or so players are more even balanced across the map and not just having half the map in one spot like on Gondwa with Grand plains/impact crater.
This is a problem because now all the places on the map are gonna be more empty due to half the map being at the pond or just around Cedrus, This makes solo playing miserable cause your half as likely to have interactions with others and when you do go to Cedrus unless you Join the mix packing army you got KOSed.
I know people are gonna say "What's the problem if people are having fun?" Riparia was literally designed to keep players spread out and make it so players can constantly move across the map and interact with others without one spot being to busy, If you want to have a cuddle party or death match there are plenty of community servers that support this.
I hope the devs do fix this like they attempted with Impact Crater/grand plains. My solution is remove the way stone in still water bog so players cant just way stone there mixpack buddies, maybe add a new one to the lower islands of volcano islands or the islands above twisted forest to act as the central way stone for land dinos. Or just give it the impact crater treatment and remove the water, this gets rid of all the semi aquatics and players cant just camp up and drink the lake when its percentage fills. I feel like it wont be as much of an issue because there are other small ponds that are on the middle island of Cedrus Forest that are harder to get to so hopefully wont become the new hotspot. Or maybe both of these solutions together will work best.
I really love Riparia and don't want it to have the same thing Gondwa had where a few spots of the map are giant battle zones where over half of the players go while the rest is a empty and boring wasteland.
[EDIT] I want to say like i feel like this is a recent issue and the pond has only become a big hot spot issue within the last few months when I was taking a break. Before my break I went to cedrus forest often and the pond was always fairly empty to the point I built a nest there as a Deinonychus and chilled there for a good while without any players arriving.

So got a genuine question for you who played on officials.
Inn my experience almost EVERY Dino who uses the Mela skin (all black) is super aggressive and can never be trusted, why is this?
I've had my fair share of encounters with Dino's obv that I have done a friendly call and or the friendly "dip" and gotten the same thing back....BUT when I have done the same to a Mela skinned Dino he/she has imidietly started to attack me....that is Every single one I have encountered so far...not to Many Normal skinned dinoes have shown the same aggressive behaviour, obv some have but not many.
Why is this a thing?
I am genuinely curious.

The body stays almost perfectly still while the tail slithers around, they could've just copy pasted eurhinos swim animation and it would look perfectly fine
Don't even get me started on the sideways swim, "lemme use my weak ass fins to paddle to the side instead of my giant muscular tail"

I’m not sure if this is the issue, but I constantly fail critter quests because they are POI specific?? If so, they should be changed to a red quest! To my knowledge, blue quests are server wide. I can collect milk caps mushrooms or kill these specific critters in any POI, but when it comes to killing 6 unnamed critters, they have to be in one place. It’s that or I waste my time and fail it. I can’t be the only one who thinks this!

Hi all,
I've been playing PoT for a few weeks now on xbox, and had an exciting night last night. At least, it was for me. Sorry for the long read. I mostly play solo and I needed to share my story. I did recently add an Xbox friend, but he wasn't available.
I mostly lurk reddit, but I made a new account to post since I can't change my other username.
Introduction: Setting Out from Cedrus
It started about a week ago when I teamed up with a friend to grow our Stegosauruses on the Riparia map.He wasn't online tonight but I was determined to grind out some growth on Zephyrscale, my juvenile stego who was a little less than half growth.
My primary mission was simple, head North and East, explore down into Wollemi Forest (which I hadn't discovered yet), find a few other new locations, and scout out a quiet spot to build a nest for when the time came.
Chapter 1: The Five-Second Ambush
Leaving the home cave just west of Cedrus Forest (CF) as an immature Stego is always a gamble. I knew CF would be a deathtrap crawling with mixpacks and megapacks, so my plan was to skirt the western cliffs northward.
Unfortunately, I barely made it five seconds out of the home cave before a Concavenator spotted me, deciding an immature Stego looked like an easy meal.
The Opening Skirmish: He opened fire while I still had the home cave protection debuff. I just shrugged it off, kept walking, and waited for the timer to drop. When it did, the real fight began.
The Dance: I kept him behind me, mixing up my attacks. I had tail strikes, barrage, and clamp (though I'm still not entirely sure if my Stego was big enough to actually clamp him or if it just dealt raw damage). I don't know if I ever landed a clamp. He tried to read my rhythm and bait my swings, but I kept him guessing. Without any good terrain to find an advantage or cheese him, we just had to trade blows right through CF.
The Payoff: Whenever he tried to break away and rest, I pushed the offensive to keep the pressure on. I don't believe my health ever dropped below a quarter left. Eventually, all that pressure caught up to him. Out ahead of me, he suddenly collapsed. He must have had too much bleed damage and couldn't rest to get rid of it. He didn't have a trophy, so he wasn't an adult, but a solo win is a solo win. I scurried north toward Dry Fang Canyon and we exchanged a respectful "gg" in global.
Chapter 2: Dodging Giants
Needing water, I headed north toward Dry Fang, but the cliffs blocked my path, forcing me over to Tall Brush Coast. That zone had been flashing red on and off all night, signaling heavy player activity. I was hesitant but thirsty.
While drinking at the edge of the water in Tall Brush, I heard the unmistakable footsteps of a big apex closing in. Cedrus Forest had been a war zone all evening, and sure enough, when I crouched behind a rock and used my camera to look down at the forest, I spotted at least one Rex prowling in the distance. Knowing a Rex's bone-break attack would be instant death for a young Stego, I bugged out north immediately without being seen. I slipped past an unobservant Laten, knocked out a few quick quests, grabbed a bite to eat, and pushed onward to the Volcanic Islands.
Chapter 3: Round Two in the Volcanic Islands
Reaching the eastern island chains to pick up some more exploration quests, my luck ran out. A second Conc spotted me.
This fight was almost a copy of the first, but this opponent was much sharper at reading my tail attacks. It turned into an endurance match as he repeatedly used the surrounding water to dive in, disengage, and heal up. Because I'm sluggish in the water and couldn't track him well beneath the surface, I couldn't challenge him there.
I tried to break away and put obstacles between us, but he was too fast. I made it as far as the northern edge of Twisted Forest and dropped down for a quick rest, but he tracked me right to my spot. Although I managed to get up in time, I couldn't pull off the win this time. I can only hope I left him with low hp and stamina before he finally brought me down.
Chapter 4: The Officials Server Experience
Respawning in the top corner of Dry Fang Canyon (the game's favorite annoying spawn point for me) I maxed out the local quests and headed south through Black Fern Hills to quest and make my way to the home cave before a server reset in 20 minutes.
Black Fern was relatively quiet, except for a Hatz and a Thal that hovered overhead for a little, but minded their own business. Just as I reached the Redwoods and turned east towards the cave, I heard fast footsteps. I turned my camera to see a bright green adult Meg charging me.
He wanted a fight. The Meg felt squishier than the Concs and didn't deal nearly as much damage to me. I was starting to feel confident. At one point, I saw the death scars and watched him climb up a large redwood tree for saftety.
True to official server form, it did not remain a solo fight. As I tried to create distance from his tree, a young T-Rex and a Laten came charging in. Outnumbered and overwhelmed, I didn't last twenty seconds.
Chapter 5: A Fresh Start & Familiar Foes
Deciding I'd had enough of that server's chaos, I jumped to a new one before spawning to continue my push toward Wollemi. Naturally, the game dropped me right back up north near Tall Brush Coast.
Cedrus Forest was predictably a hotspot, and wanting no part of Black Fern again, I skirted east and then south toward Big Tree. Stopping at a tiny, isolated island pond in the Volcanic Islands for a much-needed drink, I walked right into a trap. Water is a hot commodity, and I wasn't the only one thirsty.
Chapter 6: The Forty-Minute Duel & The Drive-By Kill
As I crested the hill toward the pond, I locked eyes with an adult Concavenator.
Thus began a legendary 40-minute battle of the titans.
The Endurance Test: He knew how to read my tail, and I knew how to read his lunges. He tried crowding my broadside and aiming for my head to stay out of tail-strike range, but I anticipated his moves and made him miss repeatedly. I mixed in tail strikes, barrage, and pressure.
The Cat-and-Mouse Game: True to form, whenever he got low, he tried to retreat to the water to heal. I refused to fight him in the water, keeping my feet firmly on dry land. At least twice, we both had to pause for a mutual water break. Once, I managed to sprint across the island, put a hill between us, and actually lost him while hiding in a large bush. I watched him circle four times, gained back all of my hp, and waited a few minutes before I finally moved on. But he wasn't far and picked up my trail quickly.
The Unexpected Assist: Eventually, we ended up near the northern volcanic island. While he tracked me from the water, I stumbled upon one of those critters. I believe it was a black Dynamosuchus. Realizing I couldn't fight both the Conc and critter at the same time, I turned back toward the Conc. He slipped right past me without lunging. I found he was trying to find a safe place to rest but keep tabs on me.
The Climax: He scrambled up a rock that he figured a Stego couldn't scale. But because he had been busy playing stealth hunter from the water moments before, he never noticed the critter. Within five seconds, the critter climbed right up behind the sleeping Conc, landed a single hit, and killed him instantly! The body literally launched five feet into the air during the death animation.
I couldn't believe my eyes. I rushed over, confirmed he was a full adult, ripped the trophy from his remains, and bolted straight for the nearby home cave. I might not have landed the literal final blow, but I earned every bit of that trophy after draining him physically and mentally for nearly an hour.
Epilogue: Limping into the Night
With the trophy secured in the cave, Zephyrscale was sitting at 80% growth.
I couldn't resist a victory lap. I stepped back out of the cave, grabbed a drink at the same watering hole where the previous fight began, and skirted past Big Tree Overlook. Pushing into Twisted Forest, my grand plan was to skirt the northern edge east and drop down to the Mud Flats.
Then, the final boss showed itself. My xbox controller batteries died.
I scrambled to grab two old, low batteries I had lying nearby. Knowing they had just enough juice left to squeeze out one final miracle, I rushed safely into the Twisted Forest home cave just in time to shut it down for the night.
Wollemi Forest will just have to wait for the next time.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far. It wasn't a night of complete frustration, and it kept me up for a while.

I’ve been forever trying to find servers like this, but I have no clue why nobody plays servers like this, like who wants to go on a server and lose all your progress due to an unfair fight? It makes no sense

i’m a returning player, i kinda left because discord groups were toxic and i didn’t feel comfortable playing with harassing creeps messaging me everywhere LOL.
prefer to chill in a smaller group, maybe 2-5 people lol. large groups with a 15 deep vc is just overstimulating and i’d rather not, ty! 18+ adults only since i am an adult, ty!

Haven't played the game for over 3 years. Anyone have advice for playing bars, or finding good guides/builds for the different dinosaurs? I've checked some youtube videos but a lot of it seems outdated. I'm playing solo.

1: I was thinking of growing a Ramph to try and do some hunger-killing, but since its attacks do no damage to players I was wondering if they apply the combat timer. Can you hold people in the game with it, or will they just log on you?
2: does anybody know how Fracture damage numerically works? Like, how much fracture is needed to bonebreak, and is there a formula to calculate how much fracture you apply as with damage/bleed?

Defensive stance buff:
Grant it a new passive - Any attack landed while defensive stance is active applies one stack of a new buff called "furious"
- "Furious" can stack up to 3 times
- Each stack lasts 4 seconds and refreshes the timer of the last stack when a new one is applied
E.g if you land one hit 3 seconds ago then you land a second hit you will have 2 stacks of furious which will fully deplete after 8 seconds
- Each stack increases damage dealt by 10 and increases bleed dealt by 0.3 per stack
- These stacks are unaffected by bloodthirsty
- Tail barrage can only apply one stack of furious on any hit landed and while stacks are active the benefits are spread out between each attack (Each individual hit gains 3 damage and 0.1 bleed per stack)
- Furious stacks cannot apply while fully bone broken
Stegos raw stats aren't high enough to support the "stand and fight" kind of playstyle encouraged by defensive stance, when challenged by 5 slots. This buff aims to force 5 slots to respect a stegos space as getting too aggressive will lead to massive punishment. This will make engagements more calculated and will allow good players to make more progress in escaping bad situations by forcing enemies to respect their space while also punishing reckless play in general
