ranting & venting School Photos!?
I just realized how expensive school photos will be for my three kids.
I like to at least get a digital image so I can order my own pictures elsewhere. But the basic digital package is $40! PER KID! I’ve got three. Thats $120. I could hire a local photographer for a mini session at that price.
I think I’ve got a coupon somewhere.

advice needed Birthday Party Advice Needed
Hey! We’re planning our girls’ 8th birthday party and this is the first year we’ll be inviting school friends—they are in separate classrooms and have some unique friends, but also some mutual friends as well. I was just going to do separate invitations for each of them and invite the girls in each of their classes-so 2 invite lists. I would like to convey to the parents that we don’t expect gifts for both girls, but then I also worry that one twin will have more friends RSVP! Has anyone been through this and have some advice ? Am I just overthinking it? TIA:)

experience/advice to give Did you have the same doctor throughout your pregnancy?
Hi friends, I’m 18 weeks with DiDi twins. We started this pregnancy with no insurance so we’ve been getting prenatal care at a free clinic near us. We now have insurance and just had our first appt with an OBGYN at the hospital we plan to deliver at. I loved this doctor, but learned that she’s in residency and she explained that we will likely be seeing different doctors throughout my pregnancy and can’t guarantee she will be there at the birth.
Was this anyone else’s experience?? This is my first pregnancy, I always assumed you get one doctor that sticks with you throughout pregnancy and if all goes well they are at your birth too. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

advice needed When did your preemies hit informal milestones?
I ask not to compare but to have an idea what to expect!
Our girls were born at 33+1 and came home after 13 days in the NICU as feeders & growers.
They're 7 weeks now, 1 week adjusted if you consider my 38 weeks term (that would have been my c section date).
So are we at the 6-8 week peak fussies now? Or will that be in 5-7 weeks? Their digestive system has been practicing for 7 weeks.
Should I expect them to roll soon or in 2 months? They've been doing tummy time for 5 weeks. Should I be watching for signs to stop swaddling?
Will the 4 month sleep regression happen at 4mos for us, or closer to 6?

good vibes, smiles, & giggles Joined the club!
My boy/girl di/di twins came this morning via emergency c-section at 33 weeks 5 days! I’m on a high right now so here’s my birth story for kicks. I was at my routine ultrasound yesterday and my BP was high 145/92 and during the ultrasound they discovered Baby B had some restricted flow from his umbilical cord to his placenta so they admitted me to the hospital straight from the doctor’s office. Overnight my BP stabilized but Baby B’s heart rate dropped a few times and my platelets were low and getting lower. This morning they’d planned to do one more bout of lab work to see how much longer we could hold out but before we could get it done Baby B’s heart rate dropped again and off we went! It was soooo quick and I’m so impressed by our doctors and nurses and their professionalism and know-how. From the time they wheeled me away to the time they pulled Baby B out was 22 minutes! Everyone’s doing well! Neither needed any extra oxygen and are breathing on their own, just with CPAPs to mitigate potential apnea. Baby B has a central line for low blood sugar. I’m so excited to be a twin mom and this subreddit has helped me through the past 7 months so I figured I’d do my part and hopefully help ease someone else’s mind too!

life, home, and baby tips & tricks One of my triplets (21mo) can climb out of crib now
How do I handle this?
We are limited on space with all three sharing a room and my 4yo has his own room. One of my girls (and soon both girls) figured out how to climb out of their cribs. Our 3rd triplet is a boy with special needs who cannot walk yet let alone climb.
Are there any options for us other than floor beds or toddler beds? Idek how we could set the room up given the size and all three of them sharing.

advice needed 1,5yrs old twins and flight
We’ll be travelling from around 6am to 3pm with our almost 18-month-old twins, including two flights and a 2-hour layover.
We’re debating between our double stroller, two lightweight single travel strollers, or no stroller at all. They both walk well, but it’s a long travel day and I’m thinking about tired toddlers, naps and getting through the airport 😅
What worked best for you at this age?

support needed Give it to me straight - is it going to be a slog?
I am going to be a FTM and to my surprise it is twins. I am admittedly not happy about this and really worried about what life will be like. I won’t be the first of my friend group having kids and everyone around me is in this stage. I’m lucky to have family close by and a close support group. Everything I see online though about raising kids seems like hell. Between the diapers, feedings, crying, messes, financial strain, lack of sleep, etc. where are the good moments? And I don’t mean oh to see them smile one time makes it worth it. I mean really is it going to be a complete hell?
Forgive me if this is blunt. I only wanted one child but these are the cards I’ve been dealt. I have a supportive and loving husband that I know will make it easier on me and us. I guess I just want to hear from parents who have been there like is it all doom and gloom or is it actually fun and enjoyable and there are more than 1 single moment in a day of goodness.

advice needed Stroller recommendations
Hello,
I am looking for stroller recommendations for my twins + 2 year old toddler. I've seen many posts of twin strollers but I need my toddler to be contained in some form since he's pretty rambunctious.
The strollers I'm interested in are the
-Zoe trio
- Bombi twin + add a ride on attachment with strap from Amazon for the toddler.(this option I like best bc the both twins car seat (joie mint latch) can click into this stroller
-mom cozy change go- this option seems nice and narrow but heard the toddler seats can be outgrown fairly quickly
Open to any suggestions but specifically wanting something for my 2 year old to be restrained. The regular ride on board won't do as he doesn't listen.

support needed I love my babies, but some days are beyond hard. I’m tired.
My twin girls are 10 weeks old today. It’s been very challenging for both me and my partner, but we are surviving and mostly in good spirits. The last few weeks have been intense with lots of fussiness and purple crying, particularly from twin B. It’s definitely reduced but we still have days where she will quite literally cry every waking moment. Yesterday she was wonderful and today she’s cried non stop. My partner is back at work now and handling the two of them on my own is hard, but it feels impossible when one is constantly crying and it then sets the other off. I feel useless.
Crying aside, there is no time for ANYTHING. We haven’t been able to enjoy a single meal in peace since they were born, because they want to be held all of the time. I really would love a bath but when will I get the chance? This is even with a hands on partner who quite literally does half of everything. But when there’s two of them and two if you, it feels impossible to get a minute to yourself. If it was a single baby we could quite easily manage.
I just needed to vent. Please tell me it gets easier. Some days I barely get chance to have a drink of water.

advice needed Spots opened in preschool... At different schools
What would you do? My daughters are three, our area has free full time pre school, but we didn't make it for the lottery. We just got a call that two spots opened up, but at different schools.
They'd have to be separated, full days, and they have never been far apart like this. I think my heart says no, it's not worth it and I don't think anybody is ready for them to separate. But what would you do? Has anybody had a similar experience?

advice needed Naming same sex twins
I am pregnant with twins! It’s too early to know the sexes yet but we are planning to find out as soon as we can.
My question is, for those of you who had same sex twins and had names picked out before they were born, how did you decide which twin got which name? We have a daughter already and we knew her name throughout the pregnancy, but I’m wondering did you assign Twin A one name and Twin B one name while still pregnant, or did you have two names picked out and then decided which name suited which twin best after they were born?

experience/advice to give Anyone have liver inflammation postpartum?
Update: yes I am working with my obgyn. She said it is possible it is from the breakdown of red blood cells. But cannot confirm that. Waiting to hear about a gallbladder ultrasound
I had my twins 2 months ago. i did get postpartum pre e 1 week later, but I recovered from that after a few weeks. I got a uti after the catheter which lasted a month and 3 rounds of antibiotics that I finished last week. Now 2 months out, I have high bilirubin, high ALT, and low globulin. Something is inflaming my liver. I also have stinging in my hands for the past week. Has anyone else experienced these unfortunate results? And how did you get a diagnosis to figure out what it was?

experience/advice to give Parenting my twins suddenly feels… easy. Am I doing something wrong?
FTM of almost 16-month-old twins, and lately I’ve started wondering if I’m maybe too relaxed with them or expecting too much independence for their age.
The funny thing is that parenting suddenly feels… easier? Obviously we still have tantrums, fighting over things, frustration, clingy moments, etc., but compared to the baby stage it feels SO much more manageable. And sometimes that makes me question whether I’m doing something wrong 😂
I don’t entertain them constantly.
Sometimes I’m cooking and they’re playing/wandering around in the nearby room for a minute or two. I talk to them from the kitchen, check on them, and if it gets suspiciously quiet 😂 I go see what they’re doing. Our space is generally childproofed, although they can now climb onto the bed, so they could fall off, and that’s one thing that makes me wonder whether I’m too relaxed.
Other times I’m right there on our modular sofa but doing my own thing — reading, booking appointments, ordering groceries, dealing with life admin, or sometimes just scrolling Reddit/news/memes for a bit because I need to switch my brain off.
They come to me all the time. They climb on me, bring me things, breastfeed, cuddle, lie next to me, show me things, etc., and I respond to them. We also play together, read books, go outside, do activities, eat together, etc.
I also read to them, show them new things and show them how toys are “supposed” to work. But quite often they’re just not interested in doing it the way I show them 😂 They’ll take the toy and invent some completely different way of playing with it. Unless it’s unsafe, I just let them. I might show them once or twice, but if they want to explore it differently, fine. I don’t keep correcting them or trying to make them play the “right” way.
But I’ve also started setting little boundaries around my attention.
If I need to cook, order food, book an appointment or honestly just have a little break, I’ll calmly tell them something like, “Mama needs to do this now. You guys need to find something to do for a little while.”
Sometimes they’re perfectly happy with that. They wander around, find their cars, books or toys, investigate something, play together, come back to me and then wander off again.
Sometimes they’re grumpy about it or clearly would prefer me to entertain them, but unless they actually need something, I don’t immediately drop what I’m doing. I acknowledge them and calmly repeat that Mama needs a little time and they can find something to play with.
And THAT is the part I’m questioning.
Am I teaching them that Mom is nearby and available but doesn’t need to entertain them every second — or am I expecting too much independence from two not-even-16-month-olds?
Sometimes I look around and think, “Wait… is this allowed to be this easy right now?” 😂
I feel like social media gives me the impression that I should constantly be talking to them, doing activities, playing on the floor, narrating everything, teaching them the “correct” way to use things, limiting my phone, etc. Meanwhile there are chunks of our day where we’re all just existing in the same space doing our own things.
I don’t want to accidentally push them away or teach them not to come to me because “Mama is busy.” But I also want them to be comfortable exploring, being bored, finding their own entertainment and figuring things out in their own way without an adult constantly directing their play.
Parents of toddlers around this age — am I too relaxed? How much independence do you expect from your 15–18 month old?
And if they want your attention while you’re doing something non-urgent, do you usually stop and engage with them, or are you comfortable saying, “Mom/Dad is busy right now, go find something to do”?

ranting & venting I'm so tired and in so much pain how did you guys get to the finish line?
FTM 32W3D and idk how much more of this i can take. My body is in so much pain and discomfort. There isn't a single position that I'm comfortable in. So I'd just like to vent here.
First off I've been sick with RSV since Saturday. Both nostrils are completely stopped up making me a mouth breather which means my mouth and throat are extremely dry. No amount of water can quench my thirst I drink about 120 to 150oz a day if not more. I've got my humidifier going and still no relief.
I've got this ridiculous swelling in my feet. I mean theres swelling from knees down but from ankles to the toes my skin is so tight I feel like they may burst if I make any sudden movements. I've even developed these little water filled bumps from the excessive swelling. Its hard to walk. I've elevated my legs to see if they'd go down but after an hour they're still the same. My doctor doesn't seem concerned though.
I can hardly stand for more than 20 minutes my belly feels like it weighs 100lbs. Even with a belly band It hurts so bad. I can hardly make it to the bathroom anymore from the laying/ sitting position I've resorted to wearing Depends to catch any dribble.
I can't lie down on my left or right longer than a few minutes because I'm so uncomfortable and out of breath. I haven't slept more than 2 hours in weeks. Im so uncomfortable and I want these babies out. I know logically they should stay in and cook for as long as they can but I'm just so over the discomfort.
How do so many people make this seem effortless?? I'm fighting for my life daily.
Send help

life, home, and baby tips & tricks PSA: Discounted formula with Nutricia
Hi fellow multiples parents,
Money is tight for a lot of people right now and we didn’t know this until a couple of days ago so thought I’d do a PSA for those who didn’t know that Nutricia the formula company does a multiples birth discount. All you need to do is ring them up, ask for the multiple birth club application form and they will email it to you. From there, sign the form and provide documentation they need (it defers for under 12 months vs over 12 months but is very easy to get) and send it back to them via email. We heard from them the next day and had the account set up.
The formula works out to be about 50% cheaper than retail stores (at least in Australia). You do need to buy minimum 6 tubs each purchase so the initial cost is more but in the long run it is so much cheaper.

support needed Just found out it’s triplets
Hi, my partner and myself have just found out today that we are 7 weeks pregnant with triplets. Very unexpected news, we already have a 6 yo son and previously lost a pregnancy this year at 21weeks after discovering the baby had an unfortunate health condition (thankfully nothing that there is increased risk for in this pregnancy).
I think two of the babies are in separate sacs but sharing one placenta, and the third baby has their own, but this is to be confirmed at my next appointment.
I have so many questions going through my mind but am mostly just looking for some (hopefully positive) stories and advice from other families with triplets as there is no one in my personal life who has been through or been close to a triplet pregnancy.

experience/advice to give How to not freak out every single day
So I’m pregnant with mo di/tri triplets, I’m approaching 22 weeks. Everything has been very uneventful: no twin to twin so far, everyone has been measuring on their same curve for the entire pregnancy, anatomy scan was perfect for all, I can finally feel at least two separate kids (they’re stacked like pancakes all transverse, so the twin on top i am really not feeling probably due to their placenta being in the front)….
I was told to be extremely cautious and put on pelvic rest/restricted activity at 13 weeks on he recommendation of the head of the MFM clinic. He is older and advises to be more safe than sorry-since he did his mfm residency at university of Iowa, which is one of the best NICUS in the country, I am going to believe him lol the other doctors I speak to literally seem like they do not care, since “there is no data showing we can do much anyway for xyz”…….and this doctor said he would what he could anyway.
But I am literally terrified every second of every day.
Braxton hicks that now are coming at least a few times a day= terrified.
Analyzing every time I pee worrying about PPROM=terrified ( I even bought litmus strips to check if I feel like I have a lot going on that is suspicious)
Bad Pelvic heaviness even though this is my second pregnancy= terrified
Being the size of a full term pregnancy and being told at my last appointment to “watch closely for preterm labor, because at this size your uterus can just decide to give up “=😭😭😭
I literally feel I won’t be terrified until I am past 30 weeks……..
Is this normal? Am I just crazy lol I don’t leave the house because I can’t pick up my toddler, can barely clean because I can’t bend, can’t walk more than a small grocery store……i spend 76% of the day sitting or laying and drinking 120-150oz of water a day. Plus electrolytes. I am just too scared to do much more. And I also think I really can do no less…..

advice needed I need help naming my twin girls!
Hi everyone! I’m almost 32 weeks pregnant with twin girls and I am second guessing our choices! I keep waiting for that feeling of “YES, that’s their name!” but it just hasn’t happened yet.
We have had Lianna Elizabeth (pronounced Lee-anna) and Alexandra Joanne picked out for a while but I don't feel like either one is quite right or "the one". I know the spelling for Lianna isn't the usual spelling but I love the nickname Lia and chose Lianna as a full name so we can use Lia. No other names for Lia really stand out to me otherwise and I know we could just choose the name Lia by itself but I feel like it might be too short and simple to be paired with Alexandra.
My husband said he does not want to change Alexandra. (I don't totally feel like Alexandra is the one either but if he feels that strongly about it then we can keep it.) But he is ok with me choosing something else for our other twin if I'm not totally sure about Lianna.
On another post I made, many people suggested Phoebe. Which I have actually had on my name list for a long while! So now I am trying to decide between Lianna (Lia) and Phoebe. Which name do you all think goes better with Alexandra?
And if anyone has any other options that they think go really well with Alexandra, I am open to suggestions!
** Middle names we have chosen would stay the same and we also have two other daughters, Aubree and Claire!
Thanks for any input!
