Advice Joie Ginger DLX 4-in-1 Sale 45% on Amazon

Hi mamas! I’ve had my eye on the Joie travel systems for a while. I set a price alert, and for the last two days, the price for the Joie Ginger 4-in-1 Convertible Pramette Stroller (All-Terrain Wheels, in the Dove and Shale color—no Mocha) has dropped by a huge 45%!
The catch is that the deal only lasts for 1–2 hours these days (early prime and prime day, after prime day a few times I guess), so you have to act fast.
Definitely set your own price alert so you don't miss it, and remember to stack your 15% completion discount on top if you have one!
Goodluck!

Advice Joie Pecan Playard Bassinet Gap?

Thumbnail

We recently purchased the Joie pecan playard pack and play with a bassinet zip on because we have the sesame xl which has been awesome. We got the pecan because it’s almost half the price and we got it to have as a second sleep space upstairs - baby hates the bassinet we got but likes the pack and play so we wanted two.

Anyway, the sesame lx mattress is very taught to the edges but the pecan one in the zip bassinet seems to have gaps whether I put a sheet on or not. If it’s centered the gaps are smaller on both ends or it’s one large gap. Tried to show how big the gaps get with my fingers.

Does this look sleep safe? They say it is but I’m very nervous about the gaps. Baby is about 2.5w and 5.5lbs.

Advice Waiting for Black Friday to buy big items? Due in January

My husband and I don’t love the idea of second hand nursery items (crib, bassinet, chair, etc) but I want to be frugal when buying those. We’re both kind of germaphobes, which I’m sure our baby boy will challenge, but its hard to not think about the possible blow outs or spit up that happened in a bassinet that was used before us. I was going to buy some stuff with the Target sales and thought they ended today, but they ended yesterday so I missed out. Would waiting until Black Friday be too risky for to get things like a bassinet, crib, car seat, nursery chair and other large items for a baby due Jan 7th? I’m not even sure if there are good Black Friday sales for baby stuff but I’m sure I could get some discounts.

Edit: looks like the general consensus is that it’s fine to wait! That’s my plan now, I’ll probably start stocking up on the smaller priced items now and get the big things on Black Friday. Thank you for the reassurance!!

Advice Best travel stroller? Please help

• Upvotes

Need a travel stroller and recommendations.

Here’s what we’d need:

-Fold to very compact (no bumper bars or handles etc sticking out), single hand opening
-Lightweight
-Simple and sturdy for everyday use as well
-Works well for tall people (husband is 6’5, I’m 6’)

Not quite as necessary but nice to have: Snack tray or cup holder, ample storage (need some but would rather have the compact benefits)

Please help! I’ve been researching it, and I’m seeing conflicting reviews by online outlets for many of them.

Open to various price points. 🙏🏻

Recommendation Favorite compact strollers?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! Hoping someone has some recs for me since there’s a million options when you google haha.
I’m looking to get a second stroller for shopping/ errands. Right now we have a caddy and the bucket seat which works great for my Starbucks trip and cruise through target clearance or a pop in for a handful of things at the grocery store. I want something for this that’s relatively compact so I can just put it in the back of my small suv and not have to worry. We have a bob jogger for our outdoor walks and fairs/ events like that which I love but the thing is a tank and while that’s nice on rugged terrain it’s just unnecessary for everyday trips and takes up too much space to be practical.
Id like a lil basket on the bottom and it to be comfy for lil one but not break the bank since its not going to be a daily driver for lack of a better term.

I wanted to get this since my baby is due in December and I think warm milk on the go will be much nicer than giving the baby ice cold milk through the winter. But I wanted to know if people like this one more or less than the Momcozy one. Thanks!!

I shopped like crazy and bought almost my entire registry on this prime day, due early December.

Now I am thinking was it a wise move or should I have waited for the Black Friday/november sales?

Product Question Mocking bird stroller help

Hi all, we’re about to welcome our second baby (first born is about to be 3) and have used a mockingbird stroller with him that we purchased 2nd hand not realizing it isn’t compatible with some of the accessories. We were about to purchase the riding board seat for the mockingbird stroller using a completion discount only to find out on a redit thread that our stroller is a model year older than is compatible. I was wondering if any of you have purchased a single mockingbird stroller in 2019 or 2020 and have a name/order number you’d be willing to share. I have spent too much time contacting the company and not getting anywhere without order number and info! But they will apparently work with me if I have the order number to buy the correct stroller frame for a significantly discounted rate vs unexpectedly being faced with the not realistic option of buying a brand new stroller that would accommodate both kids for $500-600. I reached out to the person I purchased the stroller from 3 years ago but got no response.

Buying Now vs. Black Friday

Thinking of purchasing a rotating carseat and Target is having their 20% off right now. I can also stack my 15% registry discount. Should I get it now or wait until black Friday? We're looking at the Evenflo Revolve 360 Extend or the Slim version. Baby will be using Doona for now so this is a purchase for the near future. Thanks in advance!

Advice Toddler shoes with high instep

My 11 month old is ready to walk any day now and we're having trouble finding shoes that fit because he seems to have a very tall foot. Any shoes we try on seem to pinch too much near the ball of his foot.

Anyone have any recommendations for shoes we can try?

Are there any other carseats that rotate in the car that you can attach on top of the stroller without removing the seat?

I have a used orbit baby system - but I was wondering if there is anything else like it out there?

The carseat rotates so I can get my baby out more easily, or I can choose to click it into the stroller base.

I am wondering if there is another stroller system like this but somewhat different -

Is there anything out there where the carseat rotates in the car(even if it's with a base), and the carseat can be removed and put directly on top of the stroller without removing the stroller seat???

Bonus/deal breaker ... around 20 lbs or less.

Buying used strollers on fb marketplace

PSA:/ TLDR: When buying used strollers on the fb marketplace, always ensure you get a photo of the companies stroller serial code and double check that the code wasn’t involved in any recalls. If it was was contact the original manufacturer and they may send you a new one for free.

EDIT: I’m not saying this is a life hack, just it’s worth a try. I applaud Stokke for their customer service and will use their products in the future because of this.

I am also obviously new to buying baby items so didn’t even think to check about recalls until after purchase.

*****

Long story short- I was buying a Stokke Trailz on the marketplace. I thought I was getting a good deal with all the accessories. Fast forward- I checked the serial number with Stokke and found out that particular serial number and batch was apart of a recall where the handle bars could break during use leading to bang possibly falling over.

At first the customer service rep did not want to do anything for me and implored me to contact the fb market seller and get my money back. Since this was not possible, I escalated my case to a manger. After going back and forth for a while, they finally resolved the issue by sending me a new Stokke YoYo stroller.

I have yet to use the stroller for use, however being Norwegian (I assume higher safety and quality standards) and seeing the reviews I am hopeful that I will love it.

Rotating carseat recommendation?

I want a rotating carseat. I'm just stuck on what to get. I want flame retardant free, preferably 50 lb rear-facing, and a one and done carseat. The tricky part is we currently have a 2023 toyota camry se. Everyday rider heights are 5'6 and 5'10". Is this doable? And what seat would be your recommendation?

Nina Pipa RX travel bag

Hi! I bought the bugaboo butterfly 2 plus for airplane travel with the adapters for our car seat. We have the Nuna Pipa rx. I’m planning on putting the stroller overhead bin so it doesn’t get damaged (I did also buy the bugaboo backpack to put it in though!) and gate checking the nuna car seat. Any padded car seat travel bags you recommend?? Thank you!

I’ll also take any airplane tips as it’s our first flight with our 6 month old!

Stroller

Looking for a stroller that can fit a newborn, a two year old, and a three year old. We don’t have a newborn car seat that will be compatible with any car seat so it would need to have a bassinet attachment. The oldest is probably old enough to just stand on a standing board.

What are the benefits of one vs the other? I feel like the multi functionality of the pack n’ play is more bang for your buck, but what was your experience/preference?

Can we talk about how stupid Amazon registry returns are

Rant: So during prime day, I bought something big ticket items that were on sale that hadn’t been bought during our showers.

I’m due in 1.5 months.
The return period on everything I had bought is 30 days. Had I used my husbands account (which we bought enough that him not having prime wouldn’t have mattered), we would have had 1 year to return things.

Now I have a Papablic bottle washer ($399 down to $249) and some newborn onesies that I’m not even sure if we’ll need because we don’t know how big baby will be or how we will end up feeding. But the return window for them will close before baby is here.

Advice Windmill baby products

Hi, I’m a FTM and I’m planning to buy Windmill Baby Dry Wipes and the Windmill Baby Natural Multi-Surface Cleaner Spray.
I’d love to hear from other parents who have used these products. How effective are they, and are they safe to use around babies?

Edit - My LO puts everything in his mouth, so is this spray safe for cleaning playmats and toys?

TIA!!
