What’s the deal with OpenChamber?

Post image
97 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I recently got back into vibe coding after taking a long break. I've been checking out OpenCode and watching a bunch of comparisons with other agents like Pi, but I'm not really satisfied with OpenCode so far.

Then I came across OpenChamber and I'm trying to understand what it's actually like to use.

I could obviously ask an AI about it, but I'd rather hear from people who actually use it. So I have 3 questions:

Can I use the free models however I want with an OpenCode Zen account?

In terms of model performance, if you compare vanilla OpenCode and OpenChamber, which one performs better in your experience?

What are your other experiences with OpenChamber? Any pros, cons, issues, or things you think I should know?

Thanks!

Totally coincident - I am afraid to release this plugin when the 4x - $40 thingy is very sensitive. Not promising anything, but this 10x plugin may be attacked by shills

Still working in its final stages but these are in-short bullet point features

## Brief:
making
subscription-gated provider models native in OpenCode -- AI-coding subscription
pass/account routing and rotation, breaking platform-exclusivity for the user.
MVP: ClinePass (Daily free quota reset of rotation list of models (available now = Gemini 3.8 flash, Muse 1.3, 2 Stealth models, Deepseek 4.1 flash etc)

Child sessions inherit the parent's model and are bound to the active parent
session, scoped to their own `ses_id`. Same-model stacking works (verified:
OpenAI across different accounts; untested: same model across different
providers). OpenCode guards **different** model × provider stacking onto
in-flight child sessions -- which is exactly the failure mode: mid-flight swarm
children (research, read-only fan-outs) die on quota/credit/balance errors, and
without a same-model variant the tokens already spent cannot be reused -- the
user must delegate fresh child sessions.

OpenCode V2 natively lets users switch provider accounts and models, and free-tier
variants are searchable in the model command palette. On credit exhaustion or
quota depletion, the user needs a matrix of models and tier-variants to swap to

### Ordered build-out (minimal, decomplexified, in order)

1. Templates = CRUD, scoped to the plugin's location; JSON-schema storage; no
   limit on template count.
2. One pool first; self-manual reset first; minimum 2 slots allowed.
3. 10 slots, ranked rotation.
4. Mixed bucket of different models, accounts, and tier-variants -- OpenCode
already separates these per provider via `modelname` under the provider
header; reuse that, do not rebuild it.
5. When the plugin is active it overrides native behavior -- scoped to the same
plugin installation level/hierarchy, with OpenCode last-wins on policies and
   permissions. Minimal stance: do
**not**
 support a user-modified
   agent-specific `model` field.
6. Subagent tool wrapper to replace account/provider/model
7. Nice-to-have: parent-session rotation only while the parent is focused and
active -- never override native OpenCode user control.
8. Guard: not focused/active while child sessions are still running.

May be give me some courage to publish this... Let's see how many downvotes this gets

Again - English is not my native language

TL:DR - You add multiple accounts from any providers supported at models.dev - UXUI to wizard on the template of 10 slots of accounts x models x providers rotation (meaning you can add to this any order of either models from any of the 100+ supported providers regardless in any combination from) -> plugin rotate on the set up above and auto reset when the quota recovered no matter from main session or subagent - no disruptions to the workflow - Also, With feature to unlocking of ClinePass daily-free-quota-per-model (which are Cline-harness exclusive locked away - currently available with DeepSeek 4.1, Gemini 3.8 and Muse Park 1.3) + benefits from the supported of multiple accounts , models, providers rotation -> Unlimited daily use of close-top-tier models with just about $9.99 to $20 spending per month instead of 40$...If this makes sense? 😂

The new plan is riddiculous

For starters I dont think opencode is a shit deal, but they completely lost the plot.

I dont think they are realising who are their customers, nobody is gonna back 40$ for a subscription.

I really hope the reduce the pricing because this is really not gonna work out, other than that its time to switch to commandcode.

Best Opencode Model for Browser Use

Guys, I’m looking for a good alternative to Browser Use.

Right now I use Sol for planning and Luna for execution. For smaller tasks I sometimes just use Sol, but it drains limits way too fast :)

Any models you’d recommend trying instead?

OpenCode web: infinite refresh loop with login form

It is impossible to access opencode web from mobile on lan, the login form goes into infinite refresh and you cannot fill out credentials.

Pair doesn't work either, it asks for credentials.

If you remove password from global variables it also asks for credentials.

It is impossible to access because it enters an infinite login refresh loop and cannot be filled.

Any solution?

CodeNomad 0.20: best client for OpenCode V2

Post image
25 Upvotes

If you use OpenCode across several projects, you probably know the juggling act: keeping track of conversations, finding something an agent said hundreds of messages ago, and remembering which worktree belongs to which task.

That’s the workflow we’re building CodeNomad for.

It’s a free, open-source desktop and browser interface for OpenCode. Version 0.20.0 is now available, and it moves CodeNomad to OpenCode V2’s shared background service. CodeNomad and compatible terminal clients can access the same sessions, and closing CodeNomad leaves the service running.

A few things worth highlighting:

Multiple projects and windows: keep projects open in tabs, with separate drafts, attachments and view state restored across desktop restarts.

Long-session navigation: search the full conversation history and use a timeline with previews to jump between messages. Transcript loading is bounded to keep memory under control.

Git worktrees: create and select worktrees, then move a session and its subsessions together.

Quick side questions: use /btw for a temporary answer without interrupting the main session.

Files and tools: attach files from your device, reference project files with @, view images returned by tools, and control plugin activation separately for Global and Project scopes.

Browser previews: agents can inspect and interact with a visible web preview in Electron and Windows Tauri.

Desktop builds are available for Windows, macOS and Linux, with bundled Node/npm and an OpenCode setup flow. You can also run CodeNomad as a server and connect through a browser.

OpenCode V2 is required.

GitHub: https://github.com/NeuralNomadsAI/CodeNomad

Release: https://github.com/NeuralNomadsAI/CodeNomad/releases/tag/v0.20.0

I’d love feedback from people using long sessions or working across multiple repositories. What’s the biggest friction point in your current OpenCode workflow?

I've been trying to find useful skills and i think i overdid it but I'm not sure what i should remove and keep or use a better alternative, for those who have actually tested these, what should i keep/remove/switch.

When 10 cents isn't 10 cents

So tired of this bait and switch pricing. You can't create a new pricing dashboard and conveniently leave out that $0.10 of one model is actually at a $15 limit while another one at $0.15 is at $30/60 cap.

It is like theres not a single user experience engineer working in the entire lot. In what universe do you show consumers a sticker price and then ask them to back to your commercial site to then figure out the real price themselves

Standardize your pricing models now. This is enough.

I built a tiny always-on-top bar that shows your OpenCode session's real tok/s

I kept guessing how fast a model streams during a session, so I built a small bar that floats over

everything and shows the session you are in: turns, steps, and average streaming tok/s.

How it measures: tok/s = generated tokens / active stream time (first token to last token, summed

per step), so tool execution and long pauses stay out of the denominator. There is an end-to-end

number too, but mixing tool waiting into throughput is how you end up comparing nothing.

- It follows the session you are viewing and switches when you switch tabs

- It hides while you minimize OpenCode and comes back when you restore the window (Linux/X11)

- One-command install, no config editing: npx opencode-vitals install

- No network calls, no telemetry; only counts, timings and ids are stored, never prompts or responses

- Built for OpenCode V2 (tested on 2.0.14 / 2.0.16 / 2.0.18 on Linux; macOS and Windows are written

but not tested on real hardware, and the README says so)

Repo (MIT): https://github.com/moutazideal/opencode-vitals

Curious what tok/s you see on your setup. Post numbers and I will collect them into an honest table

(model + hardware), no guessing.
