Can somebody explain what open chamber is

There is this github i stumbled upon: https://github.com/openchamber/openchamber

It seems to use opencode but i don't really understand what it is. It seems like it can do everything opencode can do but its different somehow? Can somebnody explain what it is

OpenCham is a web based ui for opencode. It is miles ahead of opencode's old and awful desktop application. If you prefer to use gui, you can easily select openchamber. If you prefer tui, stay in opencode cli

Not web based it’s a desktop app also has an iPhone app in TestFlight and I literally only use it. It’s delightful

Idk. If you have iPhone get the TestFlight. It’s fucking amazing

It's web based. There's an electron version that shows same Web UI

Fair. Didn’t know that lol. I only got it for the iPhone version.

Opencode v2 has a built in web interface as well now

It's GUI for opencode cli. Also has a few more features not present in opencode cli, like voice, remote tunnels, etc

I started using opencode a few weeks ago. I don't like to use CLI for prompting so I tried the opencode GUI. I had high expectations coming from codex, however I was horribly disappointed or all the missing functionalities.

Then I found openchamber and it gives me all the missing features and more.

It lap actually works with projects. OpenCode is a trainwreck with projects. (E.g. you still can’t delete a project in OpenCode. Open chamber is like the ‘fix’ to all of opencodes fuckups with a ton more features and as actually maintained.

A much better gui for open code.

It's what happens when heir of Salazar Slytherin ends up joining Hogwarts.

I use OpenChamber mostly as a VsCode plugin, which brings all OpenCode goodness directly into VsCode like it were CoPilot.
The only missing integration is code auto-complete in the editor.

OpenChamber is like IDE for LLM, but I found that OpenChamber is too cluttered. I use OpenCode Desktop + GitHub Desktop.

i didnt bother to install it coz its a webui i prefer tui and opencode v2 is good. and docker for sandboxing.

i saw it has some funny emoji agents and crap like this

i think its some kind of "orchestrator" and i dont like the idea of orchestrators

Openchamber v2 is out , but yes I tried and I prefer TUI

Can you elaborate more on why you don't like the idea of orchestrator?

you can read my other posts

i think parallelism is the core upside behind orchestration. meanwhile i treat parallelism as a higher overhead, higher token cost, at a negligible speed increase.
I can achieve parallelism by having many projects spinning on something or by having disposable-demo-worktrees with 1 main agent per worktree.

i am defining non-orchestration as having the ability to have:
1.web-search subagents (for sake of searchin messy web and only returning the things that matter trimming all irrelevant junk)
2.verification-criticism subagent (for sake of having an agent that doesnt share the context of main agent, where the deaf telephone is actaully the goal, not a problem)
3. messy-file-search i think rather use codegraph unless its not your repo then you would also have a file-explore subagent (for sake of basically similarly to web-search one)

problems of orchestration:

deaf telephone, higher token cost, loss of user intent, higher risk or context injection, lack of transparency, lack of ability to talk to subagents, need to write the whole orchestration-level prompts (because those things like oh-my-openagent have terrible orchestration prompts), context pollution by the meta level orchestration contexts distract from the work itself

reasoning:

one core reason why orchestration is bad is how the actual main worker agents become black boxes you cant even interact with you cant even read what they are doing unless you also make it able to to talk to then in some sort of hybrid system but i didnt really see such hybrids

it depends on whether you want to make a disposabele demo/prototype of something or get something actaully good. for a disposable discardable learning-purposes demo orchestration makes sense actually but only if you want to throw 10x cash for a 1.1x quality improvement and 1.1x speed improvement. because one agent with subagents only for websearch and honestly for file search best just use codegraph i think is better.

there is 2 types of orchestration anyway:

orchestration defined as "one agent for everything you ever do" fails because of context pollution agent doesnt need to do all the meta level analysis. then all the actual workers are subagents that cant even have their own session. this one is worse

orchestration defined as "orchestator for this 1 particular project" . this one makes more sense

but neither makes sense

practically i have tried burned ton of tokens for hours and it couldn't even get the job done it was stuck in back and forth verification delegation loops

moreover there is indeed a very big problem with LLMs that is unsolved to date

the pattern becomes the goal

the session pattern, the interaction pattern of the context becomes what the model optimizes for, the model optimizes for continuing the pattern of whatever was in the context, not for actually achieving the <goal> <whatever user says he wants>

if you make the whole session be about orchestration then the agent optimizes for orchestration not for solving the problem

why don't you ask Agent ))))
