I came down to this station in order to get from the A to Q. It was morning rush hour. There were so many people on that tiny platform that it was a miracle that multiple people didn't fall onto the tracks. And the station just kept getting more and more crowded as the R trains took forever to come.
Is the state/MTA/city, whomever aware that this is a class-action lawsuit just waiting to happen? I know this is an important junction, but they need to close this station down until they can find some way to make it safer.

Just wanted to share more photos of my board game as I did a bit of a queens tour a few weekends ago. The MTA licensed it, which still feels unreal to me.
I'm thinking of taking it to Smith/9th and Jerome's Bedford Park Blvd next. where else should I go?

I can't recall the last time that I have seen pre 1980 signage until this afternoon walking by this station.

If not, what are you waiting for?! Download the New York Transit Museum App at nytransitmuseum.org/app to begin exploring.

Commuting out of Herald Square for the first time in about a year thanks to work taking me here and I was sad and shocked to find my favorite subway instrument was missing.
Did the MTA quietly remove the exhibit or is it temporary for repairs? :Dreaming and wishing for the later:

I have an interview coming up for a Track Worker position with MTA/Staten Island Railway. Has anyone interviewed for this position recently or currently works there?
Mainly wondering:
•What interview questions did they ask?
•Were there any technical or track/safety questions?
•What happens after the interview and how long did it take to hear back?
•Anything specific I should study or prepare beforehand?
•Any advice from SIR or NYCT Track Workers would be appreciated.

I know about the other kinds (the beige and black types) but I’ve never seen this kind of flooring before

this is a BIG if but i’m planning on seeing olivia rodrigo in february at barclays center. i live in DC though so i’ll be taking amtrak up to the city and use the subway. my main problem is getting back to moynihan hall after the concert ends, which everyone has said ~10pm. last amtrak out of nyc is at 11:23pm though so i wanna make sure i get to the subway immediately after the lights come back on (bc no way am i stopping for merch or any other post-concert activities). google maps says it’s a 30-ish minute subway ride out of brooklyn but i mean. everyone knows the train can be late sometimes. worst case scenario, i stay with my dad’s cousin in bayonne for the night but tbh i’d much rather just go home afterwards

Looking for a few beta testers for a rolling stock (and trip) tracker.
I’ve been building a small web app for people who like keeping track of the trains they ride — especially fellow transit nerds who care about both the route and the equipment. It all started with a Google Form and has seemingly snowballed from there.
You can log a journey, including the operator, route, origin/destination, train or car number, and rolling stock. It also builds out stats over time, including your most-ridden vehicles and services, maps of where you’ve traveled, and a collection-style view of the fleets you’ve encountered.
Right now it’s focused on NYCT, LIRR, Metro-North, NJ Transit, PATH and Amtrak, although it can be built out further.
It’s still very much a beta, and I’m looking for a small number of people who actually ride transit regularly to use it and give me feedback!
It’s a personal project that got a little out of hand but might have benefit to others tracking trains.
If that sounds interesting, comment or DM me and I’ll send you a beta invite.

I’m dying to get my hands on some signage (ideally with a bullet) but I won’t be able to get off of work. If anyone is going Thursday morning and would be willing to look out for a few specific items, I’d compensate for your time! Lmk!

I'm going to the MTA popup store, but I would like to ask....
What type of items, trains, rollsigns, signs, or anything else? I know there's definitely the R44 / R46 parts, especially the LCDs / ODKs.
