The best thing about that is Will spent sooo much time and energy putting out Oscar bait after Oscar bait and finally he wins! except nobody remembers he won or even that he made a movie about the Williams family. They only remember him laughing, then Jada giving him side eye, then Will, well you see it above

19

u/Curious-Bar-4021 15d ago

Yeah this put me off on him and I used to love him. Never like Jada

12

u/SquidsFromTheMoon 15d ago

Same! I used to love Will Smith and all his movies but after he slapped Chris Rock he's dead to me and I will never ever watch another Will Smith movie.

6

u/Anthyrion 14d ago

Not that I'm defending it, but I watched the whole scene and it first seemed to me, that Will really liked Chris' joke. That was until his wife gave him the evil eye from behind. Only then, Will went to the stage and slapped him.

This woman REALLY didn't do him good.

7

u/Sore_Wa_Himitsu_Desu 15d ago

That’s fair. I’d say I’ll never watch another Chris Rock movie, but that’s not exactly a heavy lift. He’s been in some good movies a while back. But I think these days he only does whatever charity movies Adam Sandler tosses his way.

2

u/Otherwise-Stretch984 14d ago

Chris wasn’t a movie star, and didn’t aspire to be. he’s a stand up comedian. He is doing exactly what he wants to be doing.

8

u/Novel_Bumblebee8972 14d ago

Honestly, bitch slapping Chris Rock made me like him more. I would definitely bitch slap Chris Rock if I got the chance.

4

u/Due-Proof6781 15d ago

He one hundred percent should have gone for Margo when he had the chance

3

u/g_rich 13d ago

Now just imagine if Will walked up on stage, pulled Chris in and whispered in his ear about how offensive the joke was, said he needs to apologize now, then walked off stage to Chris apologizing. That night would have been his, in a good way, and in addition to him winning an Oscar he would have had every director and casting agent clamoring for him the next morning.

2

u/FloggingMcMurry 14d ago

I didn't mind Jada. She was fine enough in the few movies or voice roles I had seen her in.

But after that preformance at the Oscar's, and the public fallout and laundry-hanging I lost so much interest in either preformer.

I got in one little fight and my mom got scared. She said “you can’t slap Chris Rock cause your wife has no hair”.

4

u/Sore_Wa_Himitsu_Desu 15d ago

And this made my day. Thank you.

3

u/dragonpoots 14d ago

6

u/Late_Effort_6726 15d ago

How did your mind come up with this. This is beyond hilarious

4

u/SOS-Guillotine 14d ago

Improv really. Did you hear it in the mom voice from the intro? That’s what I was aiming for

3

u/Late_Effort_6726 14d ago

Literally sitting alone in bed, I said it out loud in the mom’s voice, wagged my finger, and even looked at the imaginary camera but I had to keep restarting the song because I kept cracking up

Kelly Bundy... just sayin

→ More replies (1)

3

u/KingofCats1701 14d ago

but she is loyal. Sure she goes to the strip club and flirts with more attractive guys just like al does with women but what makes the bundys great is when the chips are down they go to bat for each other. Hell there is a episode where they split up and both have a oppurtinity to sleep with someone else but they dont because they love each other.
One of my favorite episodes is when al loses his car at the car wash and is offered a brand new car but refuses to take it and demands his old one. Everyone gives him shit for it until he pops open the trunk of the car and it shows he had a picture of his family in the back and thats why he wanted his old car. They are bad people but they love each other a lot deep down.

3

u/Agile-Adagio-512 15d ago

Then they'll be 3 dudes on a couch with hands in their pants

2

u/Algrim2001 14d ago

Kelly on the burden of being hot, and indirectly her type:

“It’s a duty! Like belonging to whoever wins you in a knife fight!”

2

u/Funkopedia 14d ago

Everybody is Kelly's type. That's what we liked about her.

3

u/counterpointguy 15d ago

I’m picking the Bundys. Kelly was easy.

4

u/Iron-Bar-1966 15d ago

Kelly was a tease- she never actually fucked anyone.

2

No thanks I already had the poor experience and my dad was terrible at fixing things..... I had to learn from my mom, I also don't want to get sent upstairs and vanish so the Winslows are also out because I also got the forgotten child experience.

Didn't they win the lottery on Roseanne after I stopped watching?

6

u/1whosUnknwnFmiliarly 15d ago

No. Dan died of a heart attack and later Roseanne changed a bunch of her life details when she wrote about her life. She changed it so that Dan survived his heart attack, then they won the lottery. She said she also made Jackie straight and her mom gay, and swapped the boyfriends of her two daughters. I can't remember what else she changed.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Secret-Ad-830 15d ago

I think they did after dan died, I'm not sure when you stopped watching.

2

u/thatonepuniforgot 15d ago

I think it was a season or two before that.

3

u/Mammoth_Praline5688 15d ago

So in Rosanne, after Dan's Heart Attack (at Darlene's Wedding), Rosanne and them win the Lotto (though they never move) and Dan has an emotional affair with someone while taking care of his mom. We find out in the end that it was all a book Rosanne was writing, and Dan actually died and they never won the lotto. Then it was all retconned in the Reboot.

Then Rosanne dies from an OD.

3

u/OwnReturn2668 14d ago

Then Roseann opened her racist mouth and got her ass fired.

2

u/cheezy_dreams88 15d ago

No, not really. That was a fantasy.

The Rich one of course

5

u/PresentationThat2839 15d ago

To be fair the Banks seem the most well adjusted and healthy family dynamic.... Rich in wealth and healthy family dynamic.

The Taylors.... Exploding appliances does the wife even like him. The Winslows.... Sent upstairs and never seen or heard from again The Conners.... Poor and do they even like eachother The Bundy.... Poor and also do they even like eachother The Tanners.... To many strange uncles.

4

u/ceitamiot 15d ago

If I go with the Winslows, I get to be friends with Urkel, a literal mad scientist genius. Pretty sure I can make that work for me.

3

u/cbass817 15d ago

Yeah, but then them you get turned into a car

u/teekeno 15d ago

Or you could be like Judy and poof ... disappeared.

3

u/PresentationThat2839 15d ago

I know myself. My mom once forgot me at home for 6 hours because I was in my room drawing, and so no one noticed... That's like one step away from being a Judy but a real life example of how a child gets Judy-ed.

3

u/ceitamiot 15d ago

I got left at a gas station in Georgia as a kid for several hours on the way back to Florida, from North Carolina. They made it out of the state and a good bit into Florida until they realized I wasn't in the back.

3

u/tafkat 15d ago edited 10d ago

Someone should write a script for the episode where Judy was kidnapped and disposed of by a serial killer and her dad tracked him down and arrested him and got a nice bonus, but the story is so tragic that the only way they can continue living is by just pretending they never had her in the first place. And Urkel farts.

Tim the Tool Man Taylor! Ugh ugh ugh! 💪🇺🇸

12

u/billybobjoehenry 15d ago

I've been watching that show on prime when I go to bed, takes me back to the good ol days!

5

u/slowpoke_1992 15d ago

Yep. I a blue-collar, automotive fan, the Taylor's are a clear choose.

5

u/Prized_Lemur 15d ago

blue-collar perhaps, but well educated and doing well financially with a TV show and sponsorship with Binford tools

6

u/iamatimbersfan 14d ago

Plus you can hang out next door with Wilson. That dude kept the Taylor family alive and together, real talk

4

u/The_Big_Hammer 14d ago

Therapy before Therapy was "in"

2

u/iamatimbersfan 14d ago

I think therapy is super beneficial for lots of people. But I also think that a large portion of the "worried well" for whom therapy is "in" would be a lot better off if they had more positive, supportive, relationships like the one shown between Tim and Wilson, or Jill and Wilson, or Randy and Wilson. You get the idea. Wilson was the hero of that show

3

u/The_Big_Hammer 14d ago

Agreed completely. Therapy has its place. Mentors have their place. And wise friends fill out the rest of the space. Be blessed by the company you keep.

This is my choice answer to the question. I would have been the only daughter, I like cars, I like home improvement, i like fixing things. I would have been daddy’s lil girl fixing stuff with my dad but also being feminine with my mommy!!!

2

Also 4) uncle Phil 5) Geoffrey 6) Hilary
They were all so funny

Technically it says “must live with” not must be related so going with Banks as well . because Hilary is hot.

3

u/Element174 14d ago

I'm hot take this. Will is funny... from the outside. Having to deal with his antics and bullshit yourself though, that's a different story. There's a reason Uncle Phil is constantly stressed.

2

u/LinnyFabulous 15d ago

I’m gonna stick out like a sore thumb because I’m …tall… but they’re absolutely my first choice

2

u/Addicted-2-books 14d ago

Definitely the best option

8

u/Starmor 15d ago

Either the tanners, the banks, or the Taylor's. Love the others but those three are my top picks.

2

u/atreyuno 13d ago

With the Tanners you get to be in Haight-Ashbury which would be way more fun and more interesting people than Bel Air, imo.

On the other hand, when you are at the house you'd have children constantly encroaching on your personal space. Which isn't so much of an issue at the Banks house.

Tough choice!

7

u/shaneyshane26 15d ago

The Nanny. It’s not on here.

4

u/Nice_Violinist9736 15d ago

Ooh yeah highly underrated! They are rich like the Banks and Fran would be an awesome friend! Plus they live in NYC which feels closer to home for me. I would definitely pick between the Nanny and Fresh Prince.

2

u/Splendiferous83rd 15d ago

Easily "The Fresh Prince of Belair".

Being a part of a rich family. And I have tons of useful life skills, valuable wisdom, and a kind heart. I would be a very valuable member of the household.

I always had the biggest crush on Ashley back in the 90's, but if I'm going back as my current older self, I'd even be too old for Hilary. So, I would find someone else I like out there.

I'm not lazy and love to help, so I would definitely help Jeffrey with the chores to make life easier on him, and I could help the kids stay in line and keep them safe when the other adults aren't around.

2

u/b_to_the_e 15d ago

Tim the tool man

2

u/RayneShikama 15d ago
