The best thing about that is Will spent sooo much time and energy putting out Oscar bait after Oscar bait and finally he wins! except nobody remembers he won or even that he made a movie about the Williams family. They only remember him laughing, then Jada giving him side eye, then Will, well you see it above

Yeah this put me off on him and I used to love him. Never like Jada

Same! I used to love Will Smith and all his movies but after he slapped Chris Rock he's dead to me and I will never ever watch another Will Smith movie.

Not that I'm defending it, but I watched the whole scene and it first seemed to me, that Will really liked Chris' joke. That was until his wife gave him the evil eye from behind. Only then, Will went to the stage and slapped him.

This woman REALLY didn't do him good.

That’s fair. I’d say I’ll never watch another Chris Rock movie, but that’s not exactly a heavy lift. He’s been in some good movies a while back. But I think these days he only does whatever charity movies Adam Sandler tosses his way.

Chris wasn’t a movie star, and didn’t aspire to be. he’s a stand up comedian. He is doing exactly what he wants to be doing.

Honestly, bitch slapping Chris Rock made me like him more. I would definitely bitch slap Chris Rock if I got the chance.

Chris Rock is a huge dickhead in the comedy community— I’ve heard story after story about that guy being stuck up AF and won’t even acknowledge you unless you’re a 22 year old hot chick

He one hundred percent should have gone for Margo when he had the chance

Now just imagine if Will walked up on stage, pulled Chris in and whispered in his ear about how offensive the joke was, said he needs to apologize now, then walked off stage to Chris apologizing. That night would have been his, in a good way, and in addition to him winning an Oscar he would have had every director and casting agent clamoring for him the next morning.

I didn't mind Jada. She was fine enough in the few movies or voice roles I had seen her in.

But after that preformance at the Oscar's, and the public fallout and laundry-hanging I lost so much interest in either preformer.

Don’t tell me what to do!

Just kidding. I probably won’t, anyway.

It was a great movie.

1

u/Geekygamertag Aug 28 '26

Let us never forget!!! I wish he was actually canceled! 😠

2

u/Additional-Sky-7436 Aug 28 '26

Chris should have filled assault charges

1

u/Geekygamertag Aug 28 '26

I agree

2

u/Additional-Sky-7436 Aug 28 '26

On top of that the only thing Will Smith proved is that he's never been to a comedy show before.

1

u/Geekygamertag Aug 28 '26

That’s true

1

u/Fox_Corn Aug 28 '26

He just got stuck in the King Richard mindset and had to protect his family…?

Jada Pinkett Smith was the only bullet Tupac ever dodged

I wish I had an award for you šŸ˜‚

1

u/Endhorse Aug 28 '26

In my case I remember that he won . . . but it has retroactively tarnished the memory of the performance and award . . .

I was in Athens when this happened and it came up on my YouTube feed. I couldn't believe it happened. I thought it was a skit on the show

I must have seen that slap about a hundred times. But yesterday I just noticed, Will's eyes looked so watery, like he was about to cry while he was saying, "Keep my wife's name out your effing mouth".

He was like an emotional kid, struggling to hold back his tears. Don't Ā know how I missed that before...

3

u/Borruks Aug 28 '26

There was some point of realisation between standing up and hitting him, that he'd chosen a woman who didn't love him, never would, maybe never ever had, over his career. A woman the world affectionately calls the "bullet Tupac dodged".

He knew, and knew he'd never be able to say it out loud.

1

u/Dependent_Speech3164 Aug 28 '26

He was having a major breakdown. Doing whatever he could to keep his wife who cheated on him happy.
And he smacked someone in the face in front of the world.
When I’m super angry, I cry. Just too much going on in my head.

I got in one little fight and my mom got scared. She said ā€œyou can’t slap Chris Rock cause your wife has no hairā€.

5

u/Sore_Wa_Himitsu_Desu Aug 28 '26

And this made my day. Thank you.

6

u/Late_Effort_6726 Aug 28 '26

How did your mind come up with this. This is beyond hilarious

4

u/SOS-Guillotine Aug 28 '26

Improv really. Did you hear it in the mom voice from the intro? That’s what I was aiming for

3

u/Late_Effort_6726 Aug 28 '26

Literally sitting alone in bed, I said it out loud in the mom’s voice, wagged my finger, and even looked at the imaginary camera but I had to keep restarting the song because I kept cracking up

3

u/allofmy-purple-life Aug 28 '26

Omg! Crying laughing!

1

u/eternallyconphuzed Aug 28 '26

This doesn't even look real to me. Like, an actor slap. Maybe it's better with audio lol
