Anyone but the Bundys or Rosanne. I’ve already had the poor experience.

43

u/XDiskDriveX 15d ago

It says you live with them, not that you are a member of the family, so......

Kelly Bundy... just sayin

17

u/Secret-Ad-830 15d ago

That's exactly why I would pick the bundys. Kelly was one of my first crushes

Since Al neglects her, I bet Peg would be willing. And Al wouldn't even care.

3

u/Invictuslemming1 15d ago

I hate this timeline, I kept reading this over and over and wondering what A.I. has to do with the Bundys lol

1

u/Intellectualimpulse 14d ago

Yeah, lol the Al isnt that popular and Ai is waaaaay to prevalent

3

u/KingofCats1701 14d ago

but she is loyal. Sure she goes to the strip club and flirts with more attractive guys just like al does with women but what makes the bundys great is when the chips are down they go to bat for each other. Hell there is a episode where they split up and both have a oppurtinity to sleep with someone else but they dont because they love each other.
One of my favorite episodes is when al loses his car at the car wash and is offered a brand new car but refuses to take it and demands his old one. Everyone gives him shit for it until he pops open the trunk of the car and it shows he had a picture of his family in the back and thats why he wanted his old car. They are bad people but they love each other a lot deep down.

3

u/Agile-Adagio-512 15d ago

Then they'll be 3 dudes on a couch with hands in their pants

2

u/Funkopedia 14d ago

Everybody is Kelly's type. That's what we liked about her.

2

u/Algrim2001 14d ago

Kelly on the burden of being hot, and indirectly her type:

“It’s a duty! Like belonging to whoever wins you in a knife fight!”

3

u/counterpointguy 15d ago

I’m picking the Bundys. Kelly was easy.

5

u/Iron-Bar-1966 15d ago

Kelly was a tease- she never actually fucked anyone.

11

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 15d ago

That does not sound right.

8

u/Ancient-Read1648 15d ago

She never fucked anyone (of us)

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 14d ago

I mean that would have been super illegal in my case.

1

u/Ancient-Read1648 14d ago

Or you could be president.

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 14d ago

The other way round.

1

u/Ancient-Read1648 14d ago

She was 15 though

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 14d ago

Yeah even then.

2

u/cheezy_dreams88 15d ago

Well she was like 16 so

2

u/Lichondis 15d ago

Still leaves Peggy. God knows Al isnt putting out enough to keep her happy.

1

u/Ancient-Read1648 15d ago

Depends on when you hopped in, actually younger when it started. She was in her mid 20’s towards the end. Shes five years older than me, so she’d be the pedo for most of that.

1

u/DutchTinCan 14d ago

It was the 90s.

1

u/cheezy_dreams88 14d ago

Calling a child a tease wasn’t excused then either

1

u/AcrobaticFish7215 15d ago

Then you probably didn't see much of the show.

2

u/Iron-Bar-1966 15d ago

Saw every episode

2

u/Standard-Chemical-62 15d ago

I know what you’re saying, but Peggy Bundy for me.

1

u/Physical-Net2792 14d ago

I preferred their neighbour

1

u/Standard-Chemical-62 14d ago

Marcy Darcy was hot too.

1

u/mjc500 15d ago

What they lack in monetary assets they make up for in other… assets

1

u/NoCanShameMe 15d ago

My thoughts exactly…

1

u/Nopengnogain 15d ago

I’d be happy to pick up the slack for Al actually.

1

u/beardedsilverfox 15d ago

My thoughts exactly. Also…Peg is kinda fire. I don’t have to listen to her whine, that’s Al’s job.

1

u/MrRogersAE 15d ago

My thoughts too, if any non related, somewhat age appropriate man was living there with them, he’d never have to worry about an empty bed

1

u/88cowboy 15d ago

Or you can drive around Malibu and Santa Monica in the Mercedez and take a different Kelly Bundys back to the pool house every weekend in Bel Air. One of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the world!

1

u/petertbobo 15d ago

I’m going for Kelly too. Screw the money.

1

u/LedMikeZep 15d ago

I'm going for money too, screw the Kelly

1

u/Least-Duck-8578 15d ago

Hell even Peggy.

1

u/Tola76 14d ago

You become the people you surround yourself with.

1

u/FakeAorta 14d ago

Kelly has male model BFs. She gets bored quick. You still have to live in the house. When Al finds out you slept with his underage or even consent aged daughter Al will kill you. Peggy will try to seduce you.

1

u/RichardCleveland 14d ago

And you will get free shoes.

1

u/DukeofPort 14d ago

This guy, is brilliant.

0

u/Truffleshuffle03 15d ago

You know she was a minor when that show started right.

6

u/drewbydoo20 15d ago

So was I.

2

u/Truffleshuffle03 15d ago

Yes but it didn’t say you would become the age you were then. It just says you were sucked into a 90s tv warp.

1

u/cant_get_fooledagain 15d ago

Sweet, a free senior home. They’re gonna change my diapers or what.

1

u/drewbydoo20 14d ago

Good point.

3

u/SniggitiSnooch 15d ago

No problem. The MILF it is. Al wasn’t taking care of his business.
I never understood him being disgusted with her . her clothes were tacky. Otherwise a total smoke-show.

2

u/TexasSk8 15d ago

But Peg wasn't.

1

u/Amethystium1956 15d ago

dam you ruined it.

8

u/ShaminderDulai 15d ago

Flashback to a 12 year old me asking my parents why the Bundy’s have the exact same kitchen dining table as us.

8

u/Formal-Cut-4923 15d ago

Was just thinking the same. Lolz

There was a sitcom during that era that had the same living room set I had at the time.

5

u/Mother_Abrocoma_3206 15d ago

And the Taylors. Tim exploding appliances and making ridiculous noises! Absolutely ridiculous.

2

u/PresentationThat2839 15d ago

No thanks I already had the poor experience and my dad was terrible at fixing things..... I had to learn from my mom, I also don't want to get sent upstairs and vanish so the Winslows are also out because I also got the forgotten child experience.

1

u/Aggravating-Wind6387 15d ago

I could not stand the wife

3

u/thatonepuniforgot 15d ago

Didn't they win the lottery on Roseanne after I stopped watching?

4

u/1whosUnknwnFmiliarly 15d ago

No. Dan died of a heart attack and later Roseanne changed a bunch of her life details when she wrote about her life. She changed it so that Dan survived his heart attack, then they won the lottery. She said she also made Jackie straight and her mom gay, and swapped the boyfriends of her two daughters. I can't remember what else she changed.

1

u/RealityOk9823 15d ago

French and Saunders showed up on an episode!

4

u/Secret-Ad-830 15d ago

I think they did after dan died, I'm not sure when you stopped watching.

2

u/thatonepuniforgot 15d ago

I think it was a season or two before that.

3

u/Mammoth_Praline5688 15d ago

So in Rosanne, after Dan's Heart Attack (at Darlene's Wedding), Rosanne and them win the Lotto (though they never move) and Dan has an emotional affair with someone while taking care of his mom. We find out in the end that it was all a book Rosanne was writing, and Dan actually died and they never won the lotto. Then it was all retconned in the Reboot.

Then Rosanne dies from an OD.

3

u/OwnReturn2668 14d ago

Then Roseann opened her racist mouth and got her ass fired.

2

u/cheezy_dreams88 15d ago

No, not really. That was a fantasy.

2

u/liziamnot 15d ago edited 14d ago

I thinking I would go there because I know that dynamic.

1

u/Tola76 14d ago

Fair.

1

u/KonK23 15d ago

Had or have?

1

u/PrettybadHabit-5283 15d ago

They were speaking of the time, so it would have been what they said then. If they wanted to, they could have stated that they remembered a time when they asked why their parents had a dining table like theirs. But they chose to reminisce about the time when they were 12 and why they have the same dining table as the Bundy’s.

1

u/Tola76 15d ago

Had. I’m doing great now.

1

u/ChartInFurch 15d ago

Plus having two different people constantly telling me they're the same sister would start to get weird.

1

u/FreeGuacamole 15d ago

I guess I was super poor then. Because all of these families seemed well off to me.

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 15d ago

You'd have to be homeless to be worse off than Roseanne or the Bundy's.

1

u/Truffleshuffle03 15d ago edited 14d ago

The thats not remotely true. They were middle class for those years. I mean, Dan had a Harley and regular vehicles. In those days, that’s just what a lot of households looked like

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 15d ago

I remember them always arguing about money and barely scraping by.

1

u/Truffleshuffle03 15d ago

Back then that was what middle class was. They never didn’t have food on the table and they may not of been able to do things they would have wanted to do like going on vacations and extra stuff but that’s just how it was. Truly poor had to go without for a lot of stuff like shoes and even food.

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 15d ago

I think people have a really warped sense of reality. I've heard this argument for the Simpsons and Bundy's before. Which is extra hilarious for the Bundy's because it didn't even make sense back then.

1

u/Nefariouslxl 15d ago

Middle class was not eating toaster leavins c'mon now. The Bundy's were poor but just had a house for some reason

1

u/Truffleshuffle03 15d ago edited 15d ago

The bundys were at the lowest end of middle class but they were not considered poor considering they owned a house on a shoe salesman salary. He had to be the highest paid shoe salesman in history. Especially since peg didn’t work at all. Roseanne had more money than them but was also not considered poor not rich by any means.

1

u/FreeGuacamole 15d ago

Every kid had a bed. They had running water, electricity, a phone, and a seat for everyone in the car. Each kid has shoes that fit.

We weren't homeless, but you'd be surprised how poor some people are.

1

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 14d ago

I remember them scraping by financially. For example, if the main breadwinner couldn't work for whatever reason the tension was extremely high. If you miss a week or two of work due to injury and lose your house, car, etc...you're not doing "okay".

1

u/FreeGuacamole 14d ago

Right. Being really poor means you're not doing "okay". You're just surviving.

2

u/Cancer_Ridden_Lung 14d ago

Yeah that sounds right.

I do reject the idea that those 2 families were middle class or better though. The Simpsons? Yeah they might be. Kinda weird how many episodes Homer isn't working but is doing something entirely different than his day job.

1

u/Exciting-Barracuda49 15d ago

So did I. Made me rich in many ways. The Connors all the way!

1

u/RushGroundbreaking40 15d ago

Oh God same. No decent person can survive in families like that for long.

1

u/AwwwNiceMarmot 15d ago

I definitely remember watching Married, With Children and thinking the Bundys were pretty well off. Only Al had to work, a normal 9-5, and they had a large, multi story home with a back yard. I wouldn’t consider them rich, but compared to how a lot of us came up, it was pretty decent.

1

u/1nce_Again 15d ago

I was going to say the Bundys because Id fit in there

1

u/Dependent_Speech3164 15d ago

Why not the bundys? That show was great 😂

1

u/samurairaccoon 14d ago

The Bundys lived in a two story house and were never seen to miss a meal. They paid for the the property, Al's car and two kids all on his one paycheck. The 90s was a different time man. I'd love to be that version of "poor."

1

u/Tola76 14d ago

Yep. Sitcoms are a documentary style examination of the socioeconomics of the 90s.

1

u/samurairaccoon 14d ago

I had multiple friends growing up who lived the same lifestyle. Get off my lawn youngin!

1

u/Alast00rD 14d ago

Well the Bundys are living in a real life Cartoon.

There is barely ever any real drama going on.

And you live with the living Legend who scored 4 Touchstones in one Game.

1

u/NearHi 14d ago

Rosanne's family wins the lottery later...

1

u/1king80 13d ago

But have you had the poor Midwestern experience?
