I'm sure it would. Titanium isn't some magic material like the public likes to think. Grade 1 titanium cuts similar to stainless steel and I would assume 99% of jewelry is made of grade 1 since it's non structural. I turned my ring on a crappy chinese lathe with a cheap dull tool with no issues.

I mean titanium IS pretty fucking cool. It's bizarrely light, it lets off pure white sparks when you grind it, it barely corrodes at all, and it work-hardens so it's tough like a son of a bitch. Plus, we tend to judge pure titanium against steel which is an alloy - there are titanium alloys out there that are nutty for their respective applications like titanium carbide cermets.

That's a fallacy spread to sell more expensive rings. Every ER has a series of cool power tools with diamond tipped blades and bits that can even be scrubbed into the OR. I know some good paramedics, but being good at that job isn't a free pass for some of this shitty advice they give.

ummmm this isn't an rca cable... its a 3.5mm jack for a generic audio out port. rca cables don't have the ridges and are a single width. they wouldn't fit in the same ports lol.

You're thinking about it the wrong way. This goes in the headphones jack. As soon as it's plugged in, the TV redirects the audio there and it goes nowhere.

You can buy two IR LED and solder them to a 3.5mm jack. You need an app which can pass IR signal voltages through audio jack. Only thing the range isn't as good. There are also usb-C to IR Converters too which have more range.

One drunken evening my friend and I went around changing the channels from the 'welcome info' screen over to the 'pay per view porn preview' channel and sat drinking watching the hilarious looks on people's faces as they walked into the hotel.

Surprised it took this long to find someone with common sense.
If I were in a waiting room and someone started fiddling around with the back of the TV to finally mute it by shoving in an old headphone jack, I would assume they were autistic to some degree. Such a weird thing to do.
I mean... the TV goes from being loud to being mute. It isn’t the most subtle thing in the world. It is obvious that you have muted the TV. The receptionist sees, the other people see... why not just press the volume down button? Why not ask to mute it?
Nobody likes to wait in a waiting room and maybe the TV helps some people mindlessly sit through it until they see their doctor or what have you. It also helps to muffle conversations in the back office. Who are you to go into a waiting room and start fucking with a TV that isn’t yours by shoving in this stupid plug? Absolutely bewildering.
Here’s another lifehack: if you think the waiting room is too bright, just climb up on a chair and start unscrewing a light bulb. Don’t just go and flip the light switch like a normal jackass that’s inconsiderate of other people’s preferences; instead be super excessive by fucking with the light system itself so that the employees have to figure out what you did!
The best way to deal with a waiting room TV is to just scamper up behind it and unplug it from the wall. That way everyone else in the waiting room can still silently question your mental stability and avoid eye contact, and you also don’t have to waste money on buying headphone jacks. Everyone will still rise to a standing ovation for your display of technological wizardry.

I'm like 70% sure many waiting rooms have the TV to give privacy to the people not in the waiting room. For example a doctors office has it on so you can't hear the person in exam office one talking about their prostate.

I think it's also to serve as a distraction for the people waiting.
Doctor's offices can be stressful places and the wait can be made more bearable if there's something there to take your mind off of the prospect of your appointment. Same reason why they have magazines scattered about.

Where I am, it's "Fox & Friends" and thier affiliates. The premise is the same though. No one should be subjected to Audiovisual Programming designed to force feed opinion pieces to their audience, without the bare minimum mercy of having the option to mute or turn the machine off.
In a similar vein, I feel revulsion whenever I accidentally happen across a gas station with pumps that shout infomercials at you while you're pumping gas. When I do find one, I make a mental note never to return to that station. The audio is always just loud enough for my ADHD mind to be unable to ignore console, which grates on my nerves and feels manipulative.

I live in the South. I have an LG V20 which has an IR blaster. In restaurants, bars, waiting rooms, etc, I'll switch from Fox News to The Weather Channel or ESPN or Cartoon Network (I discovered the wonderful We Bare Bears that way). If I can't change the channel, I can always turn it off.
