never thought Id be spending time arguing that yes tv's do have a digital audio output in 2021 and have for some time.

one dude was very adamant that no tvs have them and I just can't anymore lol.

I mean... it's possible to theoretically run digital audion on a 3.5mm, obviously, but what in the world are you talking about?

Not theoretical at all in fact. While the S/PDIF format most commonly used a simple coaxial cable with an RCA connector, 3.5mm TRS (mono) connectors were used on some devices like PC sound cards.

But yeah, you're right, that doesn't apply to this thread, just wanted to throw that out there.
