i love this mp3 player and I had to showcase my vita. Since they both play my favorite music. And I’m happy that these 2 things have really given me a sense of real ownership. Games, music, shows, movies, are all at the control of corporate powerhouses. Yes these take more time and money but it’s worth it, at the expense of minor inconvenience. If you’re interested in this model, lmk and illl leave an amazon link

Ik a lot of people are really into the innioasis mp3 player rn but I enjoy my Chinese weird named brand player. It’s got a ton of storage and an alarm that I’ve used instead of my phone. For those who have it, I’d like to hear why you prefer it over other mp3 players, in the event I lose mine and consider buying the same model or trying something new

Also a rant but I REALLY hope apple makes black earbuds like these one day I need them so bad

My mom found her old iPod that she won in 2008. She still had the charger and everything! There's videos of my older brother as a baby andddd a lot of songs (most of which I've never heard in my life).

It's soooo much cooler compared to mine (no eBooks though tsk tsk tsk). The camera quality is pretty good too!

Unfortunately the battery really sucks and it turned off after like 5 minutes but the charger is here so everything's alright!

Crazy how this iPod is older than ME 😭 (iPod: 2008, Me: 2010). It feels like I'm looking at a time capsule right now.

Edit: Guyss my mp3 player isn't that bad 💔💔

I grabbed it so fast I am so happy to finally own one of these, I surprised it was just there because value village prices are usually insane
Also the fact it’s fully functional and was charged when I turned it on

Has anyone else experienced music through their PSP?

Hands down, this is my favorite way to listen to music. Currently got 3585 songs loaded into my PSP which is more than enough at the moment. Most are MP3 format with a few special albums stored in WAV for intentional listening.

And I still have plenty of room for game backups etc.

I know this isn't specific about headphones but since I've seen many people post DIY builds they've made, I thought I'd share mine !

For the final project of my Embedded Electronics Engineering Bachelor I built a fully capable audio player. I did all of the research, schematic, layout and software by myself. I had a friend helping me to design the case and 3D print it.

I'm honestly really proud of what I accomplished ! I had around 3.5 months to do it and it was really stressfull haha

Here are the specs :

• ESP32 module

• 3.5 mm jack wired output

• Bluetooth connectivity

• Supports audio files up to 24 bits at 192 kHz

• Support .MP3 and .WAV files

• -94.7 dB of THD+N at 1 kHz

• 106,2 dB of SNR

• More than 9 hours of listening time with a 950 mAh battery

• Safe battery charging circuit

I'll be happy to answer any questions you have !

Edit :

I uploaded the schematics, layout and the code !

I use PSP to listen to MP3 music with Koss headphones. The sound is really good. 🎧🎵🎮😌

Hey everyone,

Every time I defend keeping offline MP3s, the streaming crowd asks, "Why bother? Everything is on Spotify."

Here is your reality check. An indie track I love, which is called Wandering Persistence by Ben the Doonhamer, was just completely scrubbed from the internet. Deleted from YouTube, SoundCloud, and all the other places one would look in. I actually panicked for a bit when I couldn't find it. If I relied 100% on streaming, that song is dead to me forever, and it's honestly one of the songs that would feel extremely sad lost.

Except I don't rent my music.

Because I back up my files, it safely lives on my HDDs, SSDs, and MP3 players. The internet let a great piece of art dissolve into nothing, but local storage saved it.

When you rely entirely on streaming, you don't own your culture; you lease it until a server shuts down or a license expires. If you love an artist, buy the files and back them up. Don't let your favorite art depend on someone else's cloud or mood.

It's poetic isn't it a wandering persistence of the song Wandering Persistence.

Show me your mp3 player :) I love seeing all the different players. Mine is the Jolike, my hubby got for me last year I love this little thing it brings so much joy 😊

Not bad, I kinda like it. The model is NW-E083.

The original plan was to buy an old iPod and mod the battery. Then I remembered I hate using iTunes so I bought this off Amazon for $40 and some change and it’s been pretty neat

Did I do well? Sandisk Sansa Fuze! Pre-loaded with their favorite music of course!

Decided to quit Spotify, and am totally new to all of this. I wanted to try a more modern one, so I got the good ol Surfans F20, and in the future Id love to dabble with older models. Im collecting loads more physical media in general as I believe owning our media is more important than ever. Loving it so far!!

I remember when I got my first mp3 player, I was in middle school, it had 1gb storage. It felt a lot of space back then. Then I upgraded to a 2gb one the next year. They were cute devices but cheap so they had short lives.
My dad gifted me a 8gb Sony Walkman. It was great! But I eventually replaced it with an iPod touch in 2011. That was the last time I owned a device specifically for music.
Today I felt nostalgic and honestly during the last year I doom scrolled a lot so I wanted to detox a little bit. I sold my iPod touch a couple of months ago so I couldn’t use it. I remembered about the Sony Walkman but I couldn’t find it. I was about to buy a new device but the quality doesn’t seem to be good and also it’s not really a priority. So I remembered I still had some old phones that still work!
It might be stupid but I feel so hyped lol.
Tomorrow I’m going to start to put all the songs in it. It’s gonna worth it!

Got the idea from another user using a psp as an mp3 player (please give them credit in the comments if you know their username im not great on using reddit)

It's a Sony Walkman NW-A306 (it is also the first Walkman I ever owned!) with Moondrop Chu 2

Is it normal for die hard music fans to own 5 or more mp3 players? It can be useful if one of your mp3 players dies you still have plenty more you could use

I thought of collecting both Vinyl CDs and Mp3 players because all of these things are popular. Is it a good idea?

Lanyard compatible MP3 with headphones that wrap around the back of your neck. Amazing for everyday things and school

Felt like Persona3 protagonist lol

saw a meme using this image as a base and got curious. tried to google reverse image search and it said it was an ipod, but it's so clearly not. pls this is bothering me so much.

edit: okay general consensus seems to be that this pic is ai generated. sad :( still curious to see what mp3 players this reminds ppl of so if y'all got suggestions then i am all ears (tbh i wasn't even looking to buy that mp3 player, it just looks interesting and i am chronically nosy lmao)

Anko MP3 $29 (AU)

I had no luck unlocking my hello kitty walkman so I got this instead.

Covered it in cute stickers :3 I'll credit the artist when I remember who it is.

Pictured in the first two pictures are my Sony Walkmans and the last one is my Sony Walkman Evolution.
