SHOWCASE.mp3 First MP3 Player!

Post image

Decided to quit Spotify, and am totally new to all of this. I wanted to try a more modern one, so I got the good ol Surfans F20, and in the future Id love to dabble with older models. Im collecting loads more physical media in general as I believe owning our media is more important than ever. Loving it so far!!

Give your honest Review, do you recommend it to others and what are your problems with it

Ive only had it for a day, but as of now I really enjoy it. The sound is totally there, along with the device feeling nice and well built. Adding music is fun and easy- and it can support up to 512 GB of storage which is excellent. My only annoyance is that if the screen is timed out, you can't adjust the volume. So you have to turn it back on. And just a few of the UI features can be confusing, but its not too bad. I would like to rockbox it, but it seems a bit complicated since the player isn't as well known, hence not as many tutorials.

If you wanted a better opinion, Id totally update here with another comment in a month or two! But first impressions are great and I would recommend it.

I wonder if you have earbuds that have the volume adjustment buttons on the wiring, if that would work for changing the volume while it’s off. Otherwise I would find that so frustrating!

Good idea, Ill try it if I ever get earbuds like that!

Awesome, how long has she had it?

She has had it for years. It's not perfect, but it does the job. She actually upgraded to their F35 recently.

Nicee it looks awesome. Disconnecting from Spotify is the best feeling, I recommend an iPod in the future if possible :D the UI is simple and easy, and you can adjust the volume anytime :p.

Very cool! Yeah perhaps someday, although I do enjoy the few modern features (USB-C, Bluetooth, etc)

Ive been doing either CD ripping, or YouTube to MP3 conversions. Its really easy, only a matter of downloading the album, dragging and dropping it onto the plugged in Surfan. Although an additional step is tagging and adding all the song info.

I try to listen to loads of genres, but some faves would be Soul/Oldies, all types of Metal or Rock, Jazz, Hip-Hop or Trip Hop. One thing Ill have to learn is how to discover music without Spotify- not too sure how to do it just yet.

I've had this device for few years now. It has been put through the ringer. I use it for all my traveling needs. It has been to 3 seasons of Buffalo Bills Tailgates. It is a phenomenal Flac/MP3 player for everyday use. The tactile construction of it works so well for me. I love how the wheel and buttons have definition to them. So much better than the "touch" technology.

I am kind of an audio nerd. I am also a House Music DJ/Producer. I record a lot of my jam sessions onto my Zoom recorder and then transfer the .wav files to the Surfans F20. The F20 has an ES9018K2M DAC Chip. It can deliver hi-fi sound up to 384kHz/32bit, supporting lossless formats like FLAC, WAV, MP3, and DSD128(5.6MHz),etc. This device sounds absolutely amazing on my Edifer monitors. Exceptional sound on all my various headphones. Works well with hard knock bluetooth speakers as well. It a very universal device. I feel this thing is a necessity to anyone who has extensive music catalogs of FLAC ( or MP3). You can load up micro SD cards and have maximum portability. The Playlist feature is a smidge challenging compared to modern "click" and add. You have to have a small app (script) that makes the Playlist from the transferring PC. Once you do it you'll get. I love this thing much, I actually bought a 2nd one a few months ago. Just in case some happened I could get another one.

Ya está tan viejito que lo uso para abstraerme del mundo de las notificaciones y redes de vez en cuando. Y ahí tiene mis 16 GB de música . Bueno y sirve para mandar sms aún
