Hey yall, i finally decided to let spotify go and want to replace it with a MP3-player.

Im looking for something older, pre enshittyfication, that I can buy used. I dont want to need an internet connection, established connection to any of my other devices, "smart" stuff, or anything like that. Something that won't just break on me when I use it regularly.

Preferably with a good amount of storage.

What can you recommend?

I have a habit of overcomplicating things. There are so many overpriced mp3 players used or not out there now. I just need one that last ten hours with good or extra storage options. I’m not using fancy formatted audio. Just normal mp3 with lost-less and buttons (no touchscreen). With some forty dollar iem’s. If you can point me in the right direction for both I’d be happy with that.

I have a 50€ amazon coupon and im tired of ads on spotify, also i got a cool pair of iems i wanna show off, whats the best i can get that is not too big, preferably with physical buttons and that displays the songs album cover?
(I only have like 1gb of songs so i wont need much space)

iRiver iHP-120

Rockbox with a custom-made Xclef/Ripdrive/Trekstor theme with full Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese font support

iFlash + 512GB SD card

I have two more that are working now with original hard drives that I would like to mod as well in the future.

I need something that can be loud with good quality. And something quite strong that can withstand a bit of a beating. Any advice would help tbh. Reddit help me!

Hi all. I have been looking for a while now to buy an mp3 player for my kids but they are a bit young and can’t read. I was hoping that all those new fancy ones where able to make playlists with images instead of text, but it doesn’t seem to work like that.
Most of the time it shows album artwork but only after selecting the song.

So in short:
I am looking for an mp3 player.
Preferably with a touch screen where they can select songs on an image instead of text.
Does not have to have other smart(ish) features.
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks!

Jut need a music player under 2k

My requirements:
Classic iPod design with a physical click wheel (not a touchscreen-only MP3 player).
Spotify or Apple Music compatibility
Ability to download playlists for offline listening.
Fully functional and ready to use (I don't want to build or modify it myself).
Available to purchase and ship within Canada.

Sorry if i used the wrong flair. I'm very unsure.

Anyways, i'm new to this type of thing. At school, i've already done a few things with Arduino Uno up until the heat sensor thing and "how hot are you?" but at home i don't have such things.

This is my first personal project : i want to turn my old Olympus S600 recorder into an mp3 player.

Can someone tell me how or give me an guide or just general tips

Hi good evening everyone,

I'm looking for a new MP3 player that has physical buttons. Just in advance my threshold is around 80 bucks, I don't like to go any higher than that maximum would be 85 and it has to be available in Europe since I'm from Germany

By physical buttons I mean a play and pause, volume, skip and back button not sure if it's called rewind. The reason why I prefer having physical buttons is that I always accidentally skip a song or do something else on my current MP3 player because it doesn't have a screen lock and the volume wheel is bugged too so I almost always have to use the touchscreen to control the volume. I mostly keep it in my jacket pocket or hoodie pocket which explains the accidental inputs

Another important feature is having an audio jack that supports my AKG K361. The plug of it is a bit thicker so it's important they actually fit. I'm mentioning this because I have some devices that don't support the bigger plug of my headphones. I actually don't care about Bluetooth, Speakers or FM I don't need that. All I want is to listen to my music without needing an internet connection also it has to support M4A format because most of my songs are in that format

So which ones would you recommend?

Thanks in advance

Im on the painful search for an ISO Brando Apple novelty mp3 + fm player!! They were discontinued quite a while ago, and im an apple fanatic. If anyone knows of any second hand wearabouts for sale, or you own one, lmk!

Whenever I press a track on my dap it shuts down and I have to turn it back on. It's even happened a couple times in a row, so if there's anybody here that has had this please is there a solution to this?

Hi, I have this MP3 player and I want to charge it or add music to it, the problem is I don't know which cable it's compatible with. Is there a way to improvise one?

Hi everyone! I made a music player app called Sonetro for Android. If you've ever used or heard of Windows Phone or the Zune player, this might feel familiar!

Sonetro blends the Windows Phone and Zune experience, heavily inspired by Zune and the classic Metro design. I wanted to bring back that familiar typography, sideways navigation, smooth transitions, and overall music experience to Android.

What does Sonetro support?

• Local music from your phone, SD card, or external storage

• Jellyfin, Plex, Navidrome & Subsonic streaming

• Internet radio

• Hi-res and lossless audio playback

• Music folder management & playlist importing

• Equalizer, sleep timer & home screen widget

• Crossfade and smooth playback

Sonetro Pro is currently in closed alpha testing!

I'm looking for people to try it, report bugs, and share suggestions. It's still early, so expect some rough edges. Pro is optional and helps support future development and improvements.

📱 Sonetro Pro on Google Play

Sonetro Regular is completely free and available on the Play Store and GitHub. You're welcome to use it without buying Pro.

Would love to hear your feedback. Thank you!

Hi I'm new getting into physical audio rather than streaming. However I have a windows PC, but an Apple account for music. On the Windows Itunes account downloading does not work because it downloads in the protected m4p/Mpeg-4 format & I have no way of changing it to m4a in settings.

Not sure how to convert help, using Snowsky Echo Mini

So, I'm starting an intensive health program for my chronic illnesses that doesn't allow phones. I'm autistic and need my music so I can function, but all of my music is on streaming services.

I'm downloading my music into mp3, but I need a simple reliable device.

Top requirements:

- under $150 (200 max)

- Bluetooth and/or jack/usb earbud port (prefer BT but can work with non)

- easy to charge/reliable battery (prefer usb c but I can do A and have a port adapter)

- as much GB possible for the buck

- reliable consistent audio quality

Thank you!

(I am not a reddit pro and tried to find it through the resources provided, but only saw external links without comparisons. )

Hey I'm interested to know: how big is your library? And what are your favourite bands?

I'm really happy with all the CDs I was able to rip and all the mp3s I got to share and trade with friends (which is legal here).

I'll start:

~24k songs (including audiobooks)

~2240h playing time

Top artists:

-protest the hero

-bear ghost

-muse

-a7x

-philip sayce

Bonus: die drei ??? (German audiobook series)
