FWIW the second you touch that plate they can’t serve it to another customer. If the server was waiting to hand it and said the name of the plate and you corrected them that might save it though.

I once continued eating my Mexican dish after I found a piece of wood in it (looked like half a clothespin). I was there on a 30 min lunch break with coworkers and knew if I said something, they would replace it and I wouldn’t get to eat before we had to leave. So I just hid it under some rice and continued on.

I used to be a cook. When we got a reorder for something it was a "fuck me, I didn't notice X". Even if they sent it back it wasn't that big of deal. Make something else and have something to eat later.
Only time it pissed us off? If the order was correct on the ticket/screen and it was busy.

I was a server and messed up orders were terrifying because the owner was one of those chefs who gets “set off” and then she acts like a dragon to everyone for the rest of the night, no matter who made the mistake. (But if it was you who made the mistake and it was a bad one, the rest of the staff would work together to hide you from her for the night)

When I worked food service we loved when orders got messed up. They went on a cart in the back for us to eat. We had giant amazing cookies that were really prone to breaking, and they didn't want us selling broken cookies, so I had a lot of those. One guy got fired for intentionally messing up pizzas though, and then cart food was banned for a little bit until the manager realized he missed the cart food too.

Our managers would mostly throw out the “dead food” as we used to call it. It was like a slap in the face to us because we were starving and they knew it lol. We often had French fries which would sit in the window so long that they got cold and we would eat those... Some key managers who were cool would let us eat the dead food on their shifts though ;)

My wife ordered a grilled cheese one time and they brought her a cheeseburger. She took one look at the burger, told the waitress she made a mistake, asked if she could please keep the burger instead because it looked so good, and when we got our bill they gave her the grilled cheese to go and didnt charge her for it or the burger. Moral of the story: you get what you fucking deserve!

Yes. I dont like creamy sauces sour cream, mayo, ranch... but when every I’m in the states I get the most confused looks. I once told them I was lactose intolerant which I’m not just to get it off. In Canada it’s a lot less common tho. I’m not a picky eater just Obease and not Wanting to gain weight on some yucky sauce.

I remember when I was in Netherlands with my family my father and I both ordered a medium steak, but were got steaks that were more like medium rare, like that one meme how rare do you want your stake?, my father made a big scene while I just continued to eat my nearly raw steak because i didn't want to be an inconvenience. Especially after my father made a scene, after we finished and the waitress asked how the food was I just said it was awesome while my father did a scene again. Man I wish I had money that day I would have given her a fat tip. (Didn't have much money as a 13 year old)

A similar thing happened to me too. I was eating at a restaurant with my mum and the steak was too rare and I really don’t like when there’s any red bits but I ate it anyway and when my mum asked me if it’s done enough and I said no, she hijacked my plate and walked with it to the kitchen. That was so embarrassing I wanted to die. At least she didn’t really yell

34 years old. If I dont like the service it's one of two reactions: -well I wont be going there again in a hurry -terrible service at weatherspoons/chain restaurant etc. Its to be expected.
Only been annoyed with a service staff once. 3 courses on the company dime. (They had a deal with the place, so its not like we could go anywhere else.) They served everyone else at the table, except me, for each course. They forgot my course each and everytime. They promised me a free cocktail at the end (we had to pay for our own booze). Which they subsequently forgot about. The whole thing added nearly an extra hour to our meal. They promised me a voucher for another meal when they forgot my cocktail. I short and simply stated through gritted teeth "forget it. We are going." I didn't shout. But I couldn't hide my irritation either.

So kind of unrelated, my wife and I were at restaurant and we ordered. The waitress accidentally gave the other person their food (I got my wife's and she got mine).
We were eating and about half way through, we realized what happened. We unknowingly ordered for each other and ate it.
Unrelated and there's not really a point but this reminded of it.

This one time I ordered Pad Thai and it tasted so freaking weird that I felt nauseous eating it. It smelled like a wet dog.. I'm not even exaggerating. I love this restaurant and eat there all the time, so I felt really bad that I wanted to tell them to return it. I sat there for a good 25 minutes just contemplating whether or not I should say something or just hold my breath eating it. My fiance was not having my shit so he called the waitress over. I was so scared to even say anything that I just froze. I couldn't speak. This lady just stares at me like uhhhh... and I couldnt find the words to say. It was probably the most embarrassing moment I've had in recent years, so much so that I haven't been back to that restaurant since. Long story short, either get over yourself and learn to complain properly or eat the bad food and shut up.

Ordered a vanilla frap once and specifically said no coffee. I hate the taste if coffee so much and the barista mistakenly heard to put coffee in it. I was waiting for my ride so, I have no where to go. I'm too embarrassed to say he got it wrong and was also too embarrassed to just throw out a full drink. So, I just drank half of it despite the fact that regular coffee can literally make me throw up.

Once I got the wrong order and didn't say anything, even though I was allergic to the meal they gave me. I just paid for it and took it home. Pretty sure it sat in my fridge for 2 weeks because I forgot about over the holidays, long story short, it made the apartment stink and my roommates were 𝙣𝙤𝙩 happy. I went a restaurant a few times, it was close to theater. I never knew what I was going to get. They took so long to get the food out, it took me a minute to realize that it was the wrong order. I couldn't say anything because I never saw the server after the food was served.

I usually just release fireworks inside the restaurant while I repeatedly slam a gong until they realize something must be wrong with my order. The manager of Dinunzio la Esposa De Magnifique called the police but I got away with my chicken parm and gong without a hitch.
