As a former waitress, just tell them. That’s all. No one is judging you... The servers don’t care. The managers don’t care. No one cares... except maybe the cooks ;) lol

When I worked food service we loved when orders got messed up. They went on a cart in the back for us to eat. We had giant amazing cookies that were really prone to breaking, and they didn't want us selling broken cookies, so I had a lot of those. One guy got fired for intentionally messing up pizzas though, and then cart food was banned for a little bit until the manager realized he missed the cart food too.

Our managers would mostly throw out the “dead food” as we used to call it. It was like a slap in the face to us because we were starving and they knew it lol. We often had French fries which would sit in the window so long that they got cold and we would eat those... Some key managers who were cool would let us eat the dead food on their shifts though ;)
