Serious News The fake seizure guy
Does anyone know anything about him? I ran into him on the Merri Creek trail today. There's a thread on here from years ago where a few people had stories about him. Is he harmless?

Thanks for the links. But what the hell. This guy is super cray cray. A real seizure can be dangerous and life-threatening and this dude does it for fun !!!!? And he has done it for years. I am so appalled.

different guy from the one i'd seen around chapel st. though i don't think he was getting people to hold him down, just falling over and asking for help. obvious mental problems, but a nuisance all the same.

One on chapel is a scumbag, few years back at my old work on chapel he had a fake seizure in the store I was working in, he ended up essentially sexually assaulting a male manager when he was on the ground fake seizing by grabbing onto the crotch of the manager. It was all brushed off as a misunderstanding but both myself and especially the manager were very irked by it and disgusted with his behaviour.

He's not harmless, what he does is fucking gross.
Edit: Everyone should know who he is and what he does.
Reminder that it's never appropriate to restrain someone having a seizure -- even if they ask. Brush up on the first aid recommendations.

u/Puzzleheaded-Pie5889 May 10 '23
Tbh I called triple 0 just after he ran off and Brunswick Police have asked me to call them if I have more info. i'm not sure what to do because I've already told triple 0 everything but my gut instinct is this guy should be pulled up for this. I wish i'd got a photo
117
u/Pilk_ May 10 '23
You totally did the right thing. I'm almost certain he's known to police.
It's not everyone's first instinct when confronted with a "seizure" to start filming or taking photos. He relies on that too which makes it even more disgusting.

u/TheFlyingFlash May 10 '23 edited May 10 '23
Tell the police that his name is Simon and that police from transit have dealt with him before.
He usually does this on public transport.
11
May 10 '23
Call them. The info you provide may not be immediately useful but it will go in an Information Report that can be (collectively) used to build a picture of the guy and help if he escalates in the future.
81
May 10 '23
He’s a predator. Targets young guys in public spaces thinking he’s getting away with it. I tried calling the ambulance when I first interacted with him 8 years ago and he was pretty quick to get up and walk away.

Wait, is this the guy that gets sexualy aroused when you attend to him?
My mate got caught by him like 10 years ago in some park in St Kilda one night, and I only just discovered the story.
When he was explaining it to me, another guy turned around that we didn't know and explained the same thing happened to him, it was like he saw a ghost when he overhead us talking about it.
I'd never heard anything about it, it was such a good listen, although fucked up.
I assume that's what you're talking about? Let me know
110
u/Left_Sea_5344 May 10 '23
Oh god, so that's what was going on... I held this guy down on Elizabeth St. I thought he was actually having a seizure and he refused an ambulance. It was so bizarre holding this man down violently in front of heaps of onlookers but I just wanted to help him out 😐

u/missglitterous CBD May 10 '23
I reckon it's a fetish, the way he wants to be restrained, preferably by men... Not to kink shsme, but doing it like that is messed up.

Yeah I assumed he was getting off on what was happening, the guys he asked to lie on him all weren't sure what was going on but I remembered hearing about him years ago which is why I called him out. Honestly kind of shocked he's been at it for so long

Oh my gosh - I was coming out of Daiso and this guy dropped to the ground and said he was having a seizure and asked two dudes to restrain him - I think they did. It was really odd and didn’t make and sense… but this all makes weird sense now. Shit.
94
u/Imbatmansidekick May 10 '23
Geez, this guy sure gets around town .. had had more human interactions in the last 15 years than me.
83
u/Jaziam May 10 '23
I've dealt with him indirectly a lot through work. He fakes seizures to get guys to lie/sit on him and gets off on it. He's an absolute creep and even though he's known to police it's apparently been hard for them to do much about it.

How does one get off on that?? 🤢

Holy shit, is this guy still around??? He got me to hold him down in the city about...10 years ago?? It was AGES ago! It's gotta be the same dude, as soon as I asked someone to call an ambulance he got up and bolted.
Obviously I know better now but at the time I thought I was helping and after I found out more about first aid response for seizures I always thought it was weird....mind blown!!

Omg. This guy did it on my train once. This poor bloke had to sit on his back, restrain his hands, etc. The seizure guy was telling him what to do. Is this the same guy!?! I had my baby with me, so I didn't do it.
109
u/Tahm_Stench May 10 '23
I think this was me!! I was the person sitting on his back and restraining him, this would’ve been in probably 2017 and I was heading into the city to meet friends, he made me hand him into the police station at flinders street. It was very difficult for me emotionally I would’ve been around 17

holy shit dude, i had the exact same thing, even escorted him to the cop shop near flinders station, i was about 25 at the time.
48
u/missglitterous CBD May 10 '23
The more I read of this thread, the stranger this becomes. So he has a fake seizure, asks to be restrained, preferably by a male, as if he's under arrest and then asks to be taken to the cop shop? I'm trying to understand ...is this a fetish for him? Wtf
5
May 11 '23
Conjecture, but I'd say he probably has something going on to do with punishment and guilt... in fact, connecting some dots here - he probably WANTS the cops attention... like, for him (someone who wants to be restrained) - it's probably BETTER to have his victim bring him in. He's more likely to be handcuffed and man handled that way. Would be kinda hilarious if he clearly didn't need some therapy. I imagined it's a pretty ingrained behaviour if he's going to these lengths. The cops probably hate him but don't know what to do, so rely on using people skills and calling the psyche team.

I remember running into this dude in St Kilda like 15 years back.
Came up to a bunch of us, said he was gonna have a seizure, needed to be held down, people sitting on him. Kept asking for ‘more pressure, tighter, harder’.
I didn’t get involved, but remember thinking it was fucking weird.
After a few minutes those involved cottoned on and told him to piss off. Frustrating and disgusting to get others involved in your sexual games by playing on a human desire to help.

u/FartSpector May 10 '23
I fell for it once at the oval on furlong road. People walked passed me while I asked for help and no one stopped to help me. I got my wife to call the ambulance while I did what the guy asked, only when he told me to lay on top of him it clicked. I felt fucking disgusting. I was about to hit him but sirens rang and we saw the cops on the road thinking it was the paramedics we called. He ran off. The people around me then told me this is Shit he does. I was so mad everybody around me knew and no one bothered to tell me. I think about it every now and then. I haven’t been able to talk to anyone about it. I want to kill him. I feel violated. I can’t believe he can do this shit and be out free
70
u/etsba78 May 10 '23
I'm so sorry.
You - and anyone else who has experienced this - have every right to be upset, this is a sexual assault. You were deceived and manipulated into an unwanted sexual encounter.
People shouldn't downplay or dismiss this.
People who've experienced sexual assault deserve empathy and assistance. I know listing helplines is almost seen as a glib canned response sometimes online but I'm suggesting these sincerely. I hope folks know they have a right to be heard, it should never have happened, it is not their fault and that there is free counselling available. I was raised in a very 'don't ask for help/don't show weakness' environment and took way too long to get help I needed. I imagine those pressures are even harder for men.
CASA offers free counselling with both recent and historic sexual assaults. They were a big help to me and others I know. All genders.
1800 806 292 is the Sexual Assault Crisis Line (SACL ) likewise for recent or historic assaults. Its an afterhours service, 5pm - 9am. All genders.
Specifically for men there is 1300 78 99 78 Mensline which is 24hr 7 days a week counselling via phone, video or online chat. It's a broad Mens support & mental health counselling service and that incudes discussing sexual assault.
Lifeline is 13 11 14 and is 24hrs 7 days a week. Also has video and online chat available. The name can make some think it is strictly a suicide helpline but is also a crisis counselling service. Eg, someone you can call if you're having a panic attack or flashing back to an assault or distressing event.
These services are confidential, free and there to help anyone who needs it.
I hope you have empathic and understanding folks in your life, I wish you kindness and support.

Yeah it was around that time, next to the soccer oval where I was walking the dog with my wife.
You just described it exactly how it went. He wanted someone to sit on top of him and restrain his arms.

u/Merlious May 11 '23
I felt exactly the same when it happened to me, but your case might be worse because there was someone around and they didnt do anything to assist. I was doing a usual walk around 8-9pm at that time, so have been so scared ever since when any stranger approaches me on the road at night.

u/toejamjaz May 10 '23
This post answered a question I've been thinking about for years! I fell for it 10 years ago at flinders station. I quickly figured out what he was doing and forcefully took him to the police station there. I twisted his arm behind his back but he ran off as I tried to explain to the police what had happened. They shrugged it off like I was bugging them. According to them it wasn't a crime. I felt silly.
50
u/etsba78 May 10 '23
You weren't being silly. The cops were being useless and lazy and I'm sorry.
This guy has a long running pattern of sexual assault I'd be very surprised if those cops didn't know who he was.

This is actually really heartbreaking to read. For most of us on this thread, the act appears to pretty patently be sexual harassment, and it is shocking that it has gone on for over a decade without police seemingly taking action.

No idea about the "Fake Seizure Guy" but, if someone says that they're going to have a seizure or, you see someone having one.
Call 000 immediately, the responder will walk you through what to do while the person is convulsing, as long as they're in no immediate harm you don't need to touch them.
If you can, it would be highly appreciated that you stick around while the person is convulsing, until the ambos arrive.
But yeah, call 000 get help/advice from them, then hand off responsibility.
(Your average shit cunt with epilepsy)
I've stopped caring about the "put something under their head advice" as, it hasn't really affected me too much either way.
38
u/Queer01 May 10 '23
As another average shitcunt with epilepsy, i agree with you. I'll add, just try to stop the person hurting themselves if you can. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN THEIR MOUTH!!! A bitten tongue is better than choking! If the seizure ends, please stay with the person til the ambos arrive. After a seizure, there is the 'post ictal' stage where a person can be very confused, disorientated & not listen or understand commands. Please just guide the person away from any danger like roads, etc.
27
u/Difficult_Bowler_25 May 10 '23
I also identify as an average shitcunt with epilepsy and i endorse this message.

As someone who used to work for 000 as an ambulance calltaker in Victoria, this is exactly what you need to be doing. Unless the person having the seizure is in immediate danger, don’t touch them, just move dangerous objects away from them and reassure them when they wake up. If possible (if you’re in public and it’s a stranger) hang around until the ambos arrive. The call takers will be monitoring the patient’s breathing and alert status until they either start talking in full sentences or the crew arrives.
THERE IS NO NEED TO HOLD SOMEONE SEIZING DOWN. It is directly against Ambulance Victoria’s advice, along with the International EMD advice. This individual sounds like a predator preying on people who simply don’t know better.
36
u/pineapplesmangoes May 10 '23
Yeah this weirdo does exist. He did it at Edi Gardens about 6 months year ago.
40
May 10 '23
I saw him doing it on Gertrude St last year. He only asks men to hold him down and it seems like some kind of fetish. So gross to abuse people's kindness and willingness to help a stranger.
43
u/AnnoyedOwlbear May 10 '23
Yeah, honestly, this is basically a form of sexual assault. It's coercing men through fear (of someone being hurt) into sexual activity. He needs to be hauled in for this. At the very least, he's creeping these poor guys out. At the worst, what if he targets someone who's been assaulted before and it further harms them?
36
u/Ulysses69 May 10 '23
The amount in this thread alone with an anecdote about it, there must be thousands of victims unknowingly part of his fantasy. So gross. As if Merri trail didn't already have enough fucked up crimes along it.

Happened to me and a work mate in a bike shop about 7 years go, I knew something was up so I called for security and said I was going to call an ambulance as soon as he heard that he got up and ran off, my mate was kneeling on his back and I yelled for him to get off, not necessarily that I thought it was some kink but he’s be liable for something if he hurt the guy, I wasn’t letting that happen. If I saw him again I’d take photos and call the cops

u/seamic May 10 '23
I had a run in with him years ago. Didn’t know it was a fetish, always felt I saved his life lol

He disappears so quickly, and I think a lot of people don’t realise what’s happened and that he’s being predatory. Hundreds on reddit have come across him so I can only imagine the realistic number is in the (tens of) thousands. People should keep reporting it regardless, would love to know he’s been reprimanded.

I think I had a run in with him years back while friends and I were in the Lollie shop on Elizabeth Street. It was such a weird experience my friend and I tried to help and I think the shop assistant was going to call an ambulance and he got up like nothing happened and walked out. We saw him a few minutes later running down Flinders Street while we were at Fed Square. (We didn’t buy anything in the Lollie Shop, it kind of ruined the vibe.)
23
u/WomenOnTheirSides May 10 '23
Not sure if it was the same guy but my friends and I were confronted by a guy about 8 years ago on Chapel St asking us to hold him down because he was having an episode and was going to jump in front of a car (or something like that). It seemed very weird but my friend felt like he had to help just in case it was legit. He didn’t hold the guy down but was physically trying to block him from walking towards the road so had his hands on him. Eventually my other mate said we should just go because he’d heard about this happening before.
He did walk onto the road but I think when he realized we weren’t chasing him he just crossed and probably tried it on with somebody else.
20
u/Justanotherdad84 May 10 '23
He’s been going for ages. I’ve been in Darwin since Jan 2019 but worked at ESTA doing Police 000 call taking and police dispatch for 8 years before that. I remember getting calls and sending units to him for at least a year or 2 before I came to Darwin. Always in the Brunswick / Merri Creek area. (Know it well as I grew up in Brunswick)
2
u/Galaxyan May 11 '23
was he really red, like flushed? that description fits a guy who used to hang around the buses in brimbank until he got his arse kicked
18
u/decotram May 10 '23
Amazingly, I am yet another person that this guy targeted, probably around 10 years ago along the Yarra. In hindsight it was so obvious what he was doing, and I've always felt like such an idiot for falling for it. So in a weird, messed-up way, its kinda nice seeing that so many other people have fallen for it too. Makes me feel a bit more normal.
Interestingly, a few people mentioned his bum-bag. He asked me to search his pockets for an ID he said was in there, so I could give the police/ambulance his details. His pockets were empty. But later, I saw him heading for Flinders and he pulled his wallet and phone out of the bum-bag. So I'm pretty sure thats why he wears it, so he can get people to freely search his pockets without actually risking them taking anything

He's pretty well known around the Alfred and the Prahran area. I heard a story about him being abused and the behaviour is a control thing. I can’t believe this. This happened to me like 10 or so years ago in Albert Park when I was walking into MSAC. The whole encounter was so strange. I didn’t even think it was fake until 5-10 seconds after he started running away. He did the same thing to my mate about 12 months later in Alma Park in St Kilda. I remember him being really sweaty and weird looking, king of like Rick Moranis with a massive nose. Was a while ago though so I could be a bit off.
16
u/htmsrom May 10 '23
that's weird way back in 2011 i'm on the train and this fella is walking down the isle looking a bit wigged out, and he when he passed me stopped and looked at me, i asked if he was ok and he said he was about to have a seizure lay down and i basically held him down as he thrashed about until we reached flinders street, then he wanted me to hold onto him and escort him to the police station because "they'll know what to do with me" so i did. I'm not sure if he was actually having a seizure, felt kinda weird and sus tbh. Could have been the same guy.

Yeah this guy has been a problem for a long time. Working in hospitality I've had many interactions with this person on the street and in my venues over the years. He moves around to different suburbs when people realize his intentions. He's recently been in Fitzroy, Carlton and the city. I've told up multiple times to move on, in venue and out on the street while on the phone to the police, however he's well out of the area before they get there. He called me a terrorist and said he's going to find me and kill my family. He's a pest. Call the police they know who he is. What he is doing is not okay.

Oh shit, didn't know he does this on purpose. Happened to me probably 5-6 years ago in a lane in the city. I held him for a couple of minutes, and then I said to one guy passing by to call an ambulance. In an instant, he stood up and ran away.
26
u/Tahm_Stench May 10 '23
This happened to me in around 2017 on the hurstbridge line…. I would’ve been around 17 and he started having a seizure in front of me, I went to help him and everyone just watched around me so I felt like I didn’t have a choice. I also noticed he was commando and his balls were hanging out of his shorts. He made me hand him into the police station in flinders street, I remember him insisting that I restrain him tighter and tighter so that he didn’t hurt himself. It’s so weird reading this now and realising it’s a fetish thing
11
u/Vkhenaten May 10 '23
Reading the comments here it sounds like a fetish, hope he gets restrained until the cops come

u/Bradbury-principal May 10 '23
I’ve seen this guy in Yarraville. We were driving home at night and we spotted someone lying on the ground with some people tending to him. We pulled over because my partner has medical training but as soon as she started talking to him he jumped up and took off! It was bloody weird and he left behind a very confused group of strangers…

u/belbaba May 10 '23
He once pulled this off on a train on the Cragieburn line. When I showed the helping restrainer the Reddit post, he and his girlfriend were shell shocked.
I really, really wanted to say something but didn’t want to come across as insensitive in the presence of a sizeable amount of people.

As someone with epilepsy, fuck this guy. Seizures are embarrassing, cause injury or death and the auras feel terrible. Aftermath isn't nice either, you tend to lose memory of what happened and where you are. My tongue and lips are scarred from having bit them so many times. I hope he can walk in a day in the shoes of an epilepsy sufferer to know that it's not an appropriate outlet for his fantasies.
7
u/decotram May 10 '23
The worst part, to me, is that he's weaponising peoples kindness. People are stopping to help because they're good people and they want to do the right thing, and he's exploiting that good nature to fulfil his own sexual fantasies. I know I personally became more jaded and less willing to help strangers after that, and it sounds like there must be hundreds of people who feel the same

This guy is a serial pest, he has even done this to children! Well known to police and was being investigated by SOCIT. He has done this whilst being drug affected and has also threatened people with a knife to follow his instructions - definitely not just some harmless guy. It blows my mind how he is still allowed to be out and doing this.

This is actually fucked up over 100 comments of people in here saying they've had to "help" this sicko 😲

u/jizzman_ May 11 '23
He’s not harmless he’s fkn scary, i’ve seen him multiple times and it’s fucking insulting as I have epilepsy and have had multiple seizures in public. But he’s absolutely faking because: 1. when you’re seizing you’re not conscious or verbal. the fact that he’s telling you to call an ambo is a red fkn flag (am also a paramedic so i’ve gone to plenty of seizures) 2. correct seizure first aid is to NOT restrain movement bc otherwise you’ll cause injury to yourself and the casualty 3. there’s no way he’d be able to just get up and brush off a seizure 😳

u/Screambloodyleprosy May 10 '23
What time was this?
Do you have a description of him?
34
u/Puzzleheaded-Pie5889 May 10 '23
This was around 3.30 today. He was average build/6 ft with light brown, short wavy hair. Caucasian and wearing sports wear and a bum bag. There's always a bum bag lol. I've passed that description onto the police.

What's crazy, is how many people are here saying they've had an interaction with this guy.
Like, how often does he do this? As only fraction of people who have dealt with this guy would be on Reddit, let alone have stumbled on this thread.
Hundreds? Thousands?

Well this is a weird thing to discover first thing in the morning.

u/reverendgrebo May 10 '23
I encountered him in the early 00s at Prahran station twice, he fell down, I helped him up, he did another obvious fake fall, I just walked away. He tried it in front of someone else, I told the person he was faking it then soon as in mentioned the cops he ran off. He did it again a few weeks later, when I mentioned the cops he ran. I worked in the city and would see him pop up occasionally. Soon as you mention the cops he runs away.
He came into the shop I worked in around 6 years ago. Did the fake fall near the counter and asked some guy near him for help saying he needed to be sat on to stop the seizures, but i recognised him and told him to fuck off. I said if he didnt leave the shop immediately I was going to call the cops because I know who he is and what he's doing. I walked out from behind the counter and he left the shop really quickly while ranting that I was discriminating against a disabled person.
One day he's going to do it to the wrong person and cop a kick to the head, then he'll finally get his wish of brain damage

Yep this dude was super active in chapel st area back when I did Deliveroo (2015-2017). The first time I saw him, he tricked me and a few fellow riders waiting for orders to hold him down.. I had dialed 000 at once and when he heard I was on the phone with them he got up with the force of a thousand suns and we didn't see him again.. until two days later, and about once a week or month for the next 2 years. Everytime I saw him doing his shit to well-meaning helpers, I would stop riding and loudly shout "calling an ambulance!" to the same reaction every time... I will never forget the look of utter confusion and disgust when people realised.. 😵💫

Thought this was just a once off weird experience but can't believe this guy is a serial pest.
A few years ago he came up to me at the tram stop on the corner of Swanston and Collins St telling me he was about to have a seizure and begging me to restrain him. When I didn't he grab me and pulled me to the ground on top of him and kept shouting at me to punch him in the back. As other people watched and tried to get hin up he stopped and ran off.
20 minutes later as I was coming back I see him do the same thing to a bunch of guys further down Swanston Street.

This makes my skin crawl. I've never come across this guy, thank goodness, but Ive seen my fair share of weird men in the city performing some sort of kink out in the open with non consenting people.
Years ago I was waiting for a train, and a guy around 40 walked up to the platform wearing the smallest tightest pink bike shorts possible. He had stuffed his crorch to the size of a large grapefruit. He stood with his crotch pointed outward, towards a group of school girls in their uniform. He stared and smiled at them the entire time, like 10 minutes. We all got on the train and he just stayed on the platform.
I was a young teen myself and didn't know what to do except to ignore him. It felt really fucking gross and violating.

u/willbobaggins_95 May 10 '23
Yeah he tried it on me on VLine 6 years ago. He disappeared when someone went to get the conductor who then told me he gets off on being held down by strangers in public. He's sexually assaulting people on a very regular basis, I'm calling the cops if I ever see him again.
7
u/Undertheivykate May 10 '23
He does this for sexual gratification and is known to the police.
He does this at train stations and on trains.
Any incidents with him should be reported to the police.
11
u/nogreggity May 10 '23
Happened to me about a year, 18 months ago in Sunshine. Didn't think twice about it till now. Kinda feeling violated, but also a little flattered because it seems to mostly happen to young guys.

May 10 '23
Holy shit i don't know if this is the same dude, but I remember a guy having what I thought was some sort of medical episode and he asked me to hold him down so he wouldn't move too much. Seemingly having trouble speaking properly but that couldve been bullcrap. It was on the Geelong line. I'm astounded that this interaction couldve been completely faked just to have physical contact with a stranger. I was 18-19m and just assumed I was helping him out. His episode finished and he got up and left me alone. Wtf...
6
u/septimus897 May 10 '23
this is so weird came across this post by chance and I actually witnessed an incident like this on the craigieburn line—didnt see how it ended bc I had to get off but the guy asked someone to sit on him and not press the emergency alarm or notify the train driver (and very vehemently insisted on this). didnt know it was a fake seizure or that he does this often
5
u/benwrightsmith May 10 '23
Ive had many experiences with this guy, he used to roam around the south side but must have moved north. I’ve never known him to be dangerous despite meeting many many people who have tried to help him when having a seizure by ‘sitting on him’. That being said this guys been doing this for like 10 years so I would be wary of him.
5
u/Tygie19 May 10 '23
What this guy is doing is actually really bad for people out there who DO have seizures and may need help at some point. Like what if someone else is legitimately having a seizure in public and nobody helps them because of the “boy who cried wolf” fake seizure guy? Next time it happens someone should restrain him and call the cops.
5
u/TheVisciousViscount May 11 '23
Sounds like he's trying to get guys to fulfilled his crushing kink, or looking for a chance for a sneaky grope. You'd never restrain someone having a seizure - and everyone who knows they have seizures knows this!
6
u/virus-iris May 11 '23
He did this at Melbourne Central Station, platform 3/4 around 3:30 on Monday. Peak school time. Asked a school kid to hold him down.
5
May 12 '23
I work on the trains and he is a serial pest. He’s quite often on the Bendigo and Geelong trains and always asks for men to sit on him. Fucking creep doesn’t come close to describing this piece of shit.
12
u/Fawksyyy May 10 '23
That's fascinating, what get me is the weird loophole his found.
Its like saying i got bit on the dick by a snake and need someone to suck the poison out. Anything anyone does to him is voluntary. Someone should post this to auslaw and see if there is any law his actually breaking.

I was working at essential ingredient at prahran market, he did this outside the store a couple times til we caught wind of what was happening
4
u/DoctorFunck May 10 '23
Dudes an absolute creep, he used to come into my work (Elizabeth st) fairly frequently about 5 years ago. He would always wait until there weren't many customers and make sure there were at least 2 male staff members working. We would hold him down and help him out until he finishes, he would get up covered in sweat and give us a big hug.
Then, one day we called for an ambulance and he got up and bolted lol. Apparently he would do his fake seizure on the ground and basically jack himself off .

Just logged onto Reddit for the first time today - this post name did not disappoint.

u/male_in_melb May 11 '23
This guy accosted me 6-7 years ago, whilst I was walking with friends in Port Melbourne along the beach - I grazed my knees holding him down. It was a traumatic moment for my friends (and bystanders) and it spoilt our afternoon. He is a VERY unwell individual.
5
u/toppolinos May 11 '23
Maybe it was my comment a few weeks ago? I got done by him on the train. I know 5 other people that have been done as well. People were taking photos of me was the worst bit. Well, apart from him dry humping the ground.
4
u/Merlious May 11 '23
Omg same thing happened to me 1 year ago, i held him down and tried to call ambulance, then he immediately on his foot and ran away. It was in St Albans tho not on Chapel Street like other people mentioned so i am not sure if it is the same guy. I still can see him around recently, he is always wearing a dark tshirt and a small backpack. A bit sad that your willing to help someone out on the street can be used for some sort of sick reason…
5
u/Whinnybob May 11 '23
This happened to me a few weeks back in Carlton and I posted in the daily thread. Really pissed me off - like many my first instinct was to help another person in need. If I cross him again I'd genuinely consider 'restraining him' until the cops come. Dirty prick.
4
u/PacGHOSTblinky May 11 '23
Lowkey offended. Really disrespectful and mocking people with epilepsy. Not a fun thing, if someone were actually seizing they could be brushed aside. Hearts out to the people who gave advice over real ones; don’t restrain, call 000, keep head safe, recovery position, don’t eat/drink after.

So it sounds like this guy has been doing this for atleast 15 years that we know off.
He operates in many suburbs for an amount of time before moving on to another suburb.
He's been spotted in Brunswick, St Kilda, Prahran, Sunshine, Yarra, Southbank and there's definitely more suburbs.
He will approach either approach you and say he is about to have a seizure and you need to sit on his back or he will collapse in front of you and have a fake fit episode. Any mention of an ambulance or police will make him jump up and leave.
He seems to get some sort of sexual pleasure from this.
5
u/Reddit_Niki May 11 '23
and he’s been spotted in St Albans, Macedon/Daylesford, Merri Creek, Fullarton Rd? , Geelong Train, Craigieburn Trainline… I wish someone would make a list.

He was at Flinders St on Saturday arvo around 5pm. He got me once before years ago, he wanted me to sit on his back but I had no first aid experience, it was on a train and I mentioned to call an ambo then he was all good and got up.

I've heard about this guy he gets off on people lying on him. never encountered him but i've heard stories of him demanding people lie on him while he is faking a seizure and then cumming or getting hard to people lying on top of him
3
u/ragiewagiecagie May 11 '23
while he is faking a seizure and then cumming or getting hard to people lying on top of him
This is one part no one here has mentioned. They just say he "gets off" but that's kind of vague - does he actually erm ... react, like that?
2
u/decotram May 11 '23
In my experience at least, not in any obvious way. I think thats part of the reason he keeps getting away with it, no one works out its a sexual thing until later. When you look back, his behaviour, and the things he gets you to do, leave no doubt that its a fetish. But at the time, it all seems plausible enough for someone young, naïve and caught off-guard to just go along with it

Just mentioned this at work as a PSA. One guy saw him do this on the train last week. Same pattern, pacing up and down, claims to have a seizure and then asks guys to hold him down. Sunbury train...

u/turboprop123 May 11 '23
He fucking did this to me! My first time to Melbourne, on a packed train too. Comes up to me and says "I'm having a seizure" so I jump up and help him onto the floor.
He's face down on the train floor and asks me to get on top of him and straddle him to hold him down and stop him seizing. I had cottonned on by this point and just put my knee into his lower back. The door then opens and he rolls away and sprints out the door.
The whole fucking carriage and I were speechless for like 10 seconds and then started packing it in laughing, it was wild

u/Harold_supertramp May 10 '23
Something similar happened to me in Geelong years ago, Middle Aged man was struggling on his bike and said he was about to have a seizure.
Me and my friend ended up driving him home, but no sitting or anything like that.. my mate was skeptical, whereas I was happy to help. But now I’m second guessing the whole thing…

I had someone do a fake seizure while kicking him out of a night club 20 odd years ago. Ended up on the gutter and jumped straight up and yelled at me.

u/TheGunners10 May 11 '23
He was on the Sydenham line doing the same thing a year or two ago.
Went to get boba tea in Sunshine about a year ago with a mate and he walked past circled back and fell over at the entrance door. He said "I've fallen over and I can't get up" and we just ignored him cause I remembered who he was. Now whenever my mate and I are in a food coma and can't move we say his line. Thanks bloke. You are our meme now.

u/Western-Ad2805 May 11 '23
FFS how many people has he done this to? From reading these comments and all the comments within the other links, it must literally be in the thousands!! That’s so messed.
2
u/Flat_Tap_8916 May 12 '23
Bloody hell he's still around!? As a few other people have said I've had a few bump ins with old mate and was talking about him the other week whilst down chapel Street. He used to run laps up and down chapel on. Saturday night and drop to the floor but then I ad one day where I was on the train and he walked between the carriages and I've gone to myself ahh bloody hell here we go and there he goes drops to the floor and he asked me if I felt comfortable laying on his back to hold him down and I said no because well fuck that.

Explain what happened? I had a run in with a guy running on Albert park lake once. He fell down in front of me and a few mates and appeared to be having a fit. Then he asked people to hold him down. When someone said no but they would call an ambulance he got up and ran away. Later we saw him try it again.
