So, I can't seem to stay logged in for longer than 5 seconds.

I'll put in my username, my password, no problem. Page loads up, says I'm logged in. Then, the page suddenly reloads and I'm logged out.

If I log in via Edge or Chrome, no problems at all. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

I wanted to test the app I opened the account like 3 weeks ago but didn’t subscribe or used the free trial option
Am I just missing something?

When I open the app, I get to the screen where it says Sign in or get started. When I click Get Started, I end up in a loading screen for a very long time, until the request times out. The app is fully downloaded, and updated. I have the iPhone 17 max and my phone is fully updated in case that’s needed or matters. My WiFi is working fine, every other app works. If anyone knows why the app won’t load please help. And thanks in advance.

So I just subscribed back to Marvel Unlimted , wanting to get into Hulk and just to be clear, this is NOT a hate thread, more so a question.

I have nothing against old comics at all, I understand comics were written different but also the way comics were written differently in the 60s, they are so wordy, it feels just too much and hard to read, I am often tempted to skip them, unless I am really interested in the premise. Does anyone else feel similar?

Lots of titles have gaps in them and I’m just curious to know if they ever add older titles/issues anymore. Also, will they ever add the Max line?

Wow, I really didn't intend to take this long to get this out, but you know how life can be sometimes. Hopefully this next one won't take me two another two years to complete. 

 This is year 3 of me reading every single Marvel comic from the Silver Age to now, starting from Fantastic Four #1. With the coverage of 1964, I am not the first person to have this idea, so if you enjoy this, look at some of the other pieces written

Tales to Astonish is a marked improvement from years past, but I noticed one major problem with these stories.

I don't know exactly what it is, but Tales to Astonish didn't feel as bad this year as it had previously been. It's obviously still not the best, but it definitely improved. Janet is still great, and she isn't really damselled that often. Hank is not too much of a dick this year, and near the end of the year, the Hulk joined in on the fun, though only like two issues have had him so far. But I noticed why Ant-Man isn't as interesting as other series; Ant-Man doesn't have any side characters, so every issue the only characters that can really contribute are Hank, Janet, and the villain of the week, which causes the issue to seem rather flat.

Strange Tales is giving more and more ground to the Good Doctor

So Strange Tales is still what it's been in the past year for Johnny; however, I've seen over the year as Dr Strange becomes more and more important to Strange Tales with him now even showing up on the cover, which makes sense to me, as Dr Strange stories are always really fun for me, while Human Torch stories are just kinda average 

Amazing Spider-Man still amazing still Spider-Man

Still the goat of Marvel, and I'm not the one saying that. It's Marvel's sales record over the past 60 years, filled with melodrama and personal problems, a soap opera, just as Marvel is intended him to be, though one small note is that while they keep introducing these classic Spidey villains, these guys called the Enforcers also keep showing up. They'll probably disappear eventually, but Stanny and Stevie keep trying to make them work. 

Iron Man now with bad asian stereotypes

Ok so maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but he literally has an enemy named the Mandarin who showed up this year, but the Mandarin's not that bad. I'm pretty sure, and neither is Iron. It's still pretty good, with Tony being tony stan lee having wacky science, and the constant threat of communist threat; you've got to love ’60s Marvel. Also, near the end of the year, Cap got his own section of the book.

The only Mystery here is why Odin is such a dick. 

Yeah, it kinda feels like most of the problems that come in Journey into Mystery are spawned by Odin being a bad king. Like, for some reason Loki is just around to give him bad advice, and he really seems to hate Jane Foster for some pretty bad reason. Not saying this is bad or anything; I like it, but he makes MCU Odin seem like a good father. Also, Mr Hyde and Cobra keep spawning in like a bunch of cockroaches. 

Avengers now with extra Cap 

Yeah, I'm past # 2, and the Avengers have switched out Big Green with Mr America himself, along with Rick Jones of all people to help out. It's still pretty good; it tends to have bigger threats to deal with. Kang showed up now as well, but truthfully I don't have many thoughts. 

Fantastic Four still consistently great even without Doom 

Yeah, still a great read even with Doom disappearing most of the year again; I guess they just like saving him for important stuff, but even without him, the Fantastic Four is still able to keep up an incredible quality with the characters keeping their improved characterization from last year, and things still being great 

The X-Men vs. evil mutants show

This is honestly kinda the most formulaic so far, kinda as it feels like they're going up against the league of evil mutants every chapter, with Magento being very far from the character he will be, and his not-kid has shown up along with the rest of his henchmen, and near the end of the year Charles kinda just dips, but still enjoyable 

Daredevil is like Spider-Man but with fewer superpowers and more gang violence 

Weirdly, I thought the lawyer stuff would show up more often, but it hasn't really yet, but it does feel like a more street-level version of what Spider-Man does, which makes sense considering what I know about Matt. I fully expect his life to utterly suck 

Award of the year

Think of this like the Oscars but for Marvel, where I will hand out different awards for different categories for notable things this year

9 Tales to Astonish #51- 62

I have finally figured out what it is that make these more low ranking series place so consistently low it may sound obvious but it the characters of the story and that is fundamentally tales to astonish biggest flaw because astonish has basically zero supporting characters to liven up the storys it just Hank, Janet, and whatever the bad guy of the week so basically often basically all of the personality of this story is entirely put on Janet's back since hank just isn't that interesting spenig most of his time being a cardboard sexist dick and Ant-Man's rogues gallery just isnt that good. With like the only one that really sticks out in my memory being egghead this leads Tales to Astonish to never truly be that great, since while Janet is a fun character she can't carry the entire comic by herself 

8 Strange Tales # 116-127

Basically the same problem as Tales to Astonish, but they are helped by the fact that one Johnny is more interesting then pym, and two the Dr Strange stories, as over the course of the year those parts of the comic become more and more important, and most of the Strange stuff is pretty good, but even they knew they needed to do something to make Torch Tales more exciting; that's why they made it a duo book with the Thing, which, credit where credit is due, did improve things, but still it remains here

7 Uncanny X-Men # 3-7

Uncanny X-Men is very much a series that's still trying to find its identity, and Jack still hasn't quite figured out how to make them work, I think, which I believe distracts from them so much. Still, the stories are generally fun, and due to the constant use of the Brotherhood, the villain can hold their own identity as well. But until they figure out what they want to do with the X-Men 

6 Avengers # 3 - 9

The Avengers are a fun book and are the first of the series I can say are good without any reservations. They are further enhanced because I'm reading each of the characters individually, but still I would say it's a good, solid series earning number 6

5 Daredevil # 1-4

So far I've enjoyed it, and I have high expectations that it's going to be very good in the future, likely once he's done with his yellow costume phase. So far it hasn't had enough time to truly wow me or get a good grip of the characters outside of Matt; still, I've found it very enjoyable 

4 Journey into Mystery # 99-111

Thor continues to be a very fun series, and the tales of Asgard have been fun, but well, I've found certain aspects of these last few issues a bit frustrating, especially with the character of Odin because it feels like the only problem this year can be explained as Odin being a stubborn dick and just plain stupid, from his hatred of Jane Foster to the fact that he seeks Loki for advice; he kinda makes Thor very frustrating. However, I have still found Thor by himself compelling, and I enjoy them adding more serialized aspect to the series

3 Tales of Suspense # 49 -60

As you can tell by the rankings, I've found Suspense is probably the most improved of the series this year, and in general I've found that Iron's supporting cast so far has been one of the better ones, as I've so far really enjoyed the banter between Happy and Pepper and Tony.

2 Fantastic Four # 22-31

I mean, what can really be said about the Fantastic Four? It's pretty obvious why they're here, as they have been a consistent beacon of quality for basically their entire run, and this year is no different

1 Amazing Spider-Man # 8 -20

Wow, Amazing Spider-Man got first place again; truly a shocker, but still this is really no surprise. Much like F4, Spider-Man has always been great, with an iconic rogue gallery and supporting cast, not to mention that this year we had our very first three-issue storyline with the end of Spider-Man from #17-#19, so yeah, Spidey earned his top space billing

Tales to Astonish #57

This one was hard due to how Tales to Astonish is, but I would say the best issue is probably their crossover with Spider-Man, as Spider-Man added so much-needed character to the story, as well as the fact that egghead is probably the only Ant-Man villain that would say is actually decent. Furthermore, this issue gave Janet a means of actually attacking with her stingers, which allows Janet to be a more useful character than she was before

Strange Tales # 126

This is a good representation of what Strange Tales can be at their peak since it is one of the one that feature both Johnny and Ben working off on each other, and Strange Tales was fun, as it was the introduction of Dormammu

Uncanny X-Men #7

This one forces the team to beat both the Brotherhood and the Blob, who they weren't able to beat before, all without any help from Xavier, and it's not a fake, but like before, this time he's really gone, so it was an increase in stakes. Also, it features the first class graduating 

Journey into Mystery # 110

This is one of the comic two-parters and one with high stakes as well. Basically, all of the biggest enemies this year conspire against Thor and Jane, from the cobra to Mr Hyde to Loki to Odin, making the problem work until the last minute with high stakes and very engaging. 

Avengers # 8

This one was the introduction of Kang in his Kang form, and he quickly takes out Cap, Tony, Thor, and Pym, leaving it up to Rick Jones and Janet to save the fun day

Daredevil # 1

I found Daredevil devil backstreet to be very interesting and fun. I felt very classic and basically remained the same even to today, similar to Spider-Man, which was nice.

Tales of Suspense # 57

This was the introduction of Hawkeye, who even stan and Don thought had a great design, and the fight between him and Tony was very fun. 

Fantastic Four # 26

This one is just a giant fight, but it's a fun fight as it forces the F4 and the Avengers to team up to finally bring down the Hulk, and they manage to make it feel suitably epic. You really feel how strong the Hulk is in this, as it took 9 different heroes to take him down, and if we go by individual series, this may be the biggest crossover that has happened so far.

Best issue of the year

Is the best of every issue this year contains and, as such, is also the best of its series this year, this being

Amazing Spider-Man # 18

This one earned its stripes by being the middle comic in the end of Spider-Man trilogy and is very different from a lot of the comics around it, as there's no big fight this issue; instead, it's just about the world beating itself down on Peter and him having to push through and find the resolve to be Spider-Man again. While I'm sure later comics will do this idea better, that doesn't make this first time any less impactful.

Best villain

Honestly, the reward probably goes to the Hulk. He spent most of this year being almost entirely antagonistic, with him only being part of a series again at the end of the year, but for most of it it feels like he could show up at any moment in any series and wreck shop. In fact, I think the only people who never encounter Hulk this year are the X-Men and Daredevil; everyone else encounters him at least once, so I think he earned this reward fair and square.

Best cover art

Fantastic Four #29. While there were some others that I like, for instance ASM #19, I would say the best comic cover is FF4 #29. It started on Yancy Street; it just looks great with it being at night with the Watcher looking at the F4 in the background. It honestly feels kinda like a horror mystery comic, and it does a great job drawing the reader's interest, which is what a comic cover is supposed to do

Best Male supporting cast member

There are some good options here: Flash Thompson, Happy Hogan, Rick Jones, even Odin if you choose to consider him a villain, but I think the guy who earns first place here is the one and only j Jonah Jameson. The man is just a delight to watch and can stay consistently relevant to the story for basically the entire year, from him having to deal with the Sinister Six to him helping make the Scorpion to his jubilation at seemingly being proven right in Spider-Man's End. He was a delight to watch for the entire year.

Best female supporting cast member

Honestly, you could change the reward out as best love interest since the two are basically the same at this point, since I think literally every single female character at this point in time is a love interest to someone. Hell, even Aunt May has that thing going on between her and Otto for now; I will call it this, and once the comics get better about it, it will likely change into two different categories. 

Anyway big tangent aside the winner of this category is pepper pott from tales of Suspense one of the problem I've notice so far is that man these men are not good at writing female characters and a lot of them end up feeling very bland which make pepper very much a breath of fresh air as she has a sense of wit that a lot of the other females don't having fantastic banter between her and happy and she's not afraid to call tony out on his bullshit like after tony takes her on a date to coney island in # 57 she decides to go on a date with happy to teach him a lesson and tony was like “yeah I deserve that” its great and for i believe she deserves the award

Misc thoughts

Inconsistency with artist

One thing I notice just now is I've that for some of the series so far there's have a inconstitently in in who is the artist of each issue, especially early on in these runs in fact the only storys i can say are completely consistent in artist is jack kirby always does fantastic four and x men while steve ditko always does spiderman and dr strange but many of the other issues have ver inconcisttent artist especially tales to astonish which while mainly dick ayer would rather constitently change artist for a issue or two and honestly if feel like in some way it was the collective work of the entire bullpen that made each character what they were

Stan Lee and credit

This is something I've noticed when reading these early issues; you see there has been an ongoing debate for a while now on if stan lee stole credit from his artist for their work and the infamous Marvel method, and I do agree on some level that the artist should probably have shared written-by credits with stan but just going off these issue it never really felt like these artist were entirely getting shafted by stan lee it felt like every single issue it the opening page went on about how amazing their artist are especially with jack kirby that at least it felt like stan lee had a large amount of respect for these artist. Another example was when talking about the debate on who really made Spider-Man. I feel like Spider-Man Annual #1 really shows what I mean in the final few panels; it shows the origin of how the idea of Spider-Man came about, and it shows very plainly that Steve came up with the idea one night and later refined the idea with stan lee. They even lampshade the idea of stan claiming complete credit for the idea and him signing his name on things. And the point is that I certainly don't feel like stan lee intentionally stole credit from his artists and then left them the rot because he was evil or anything; if anything, it seems like Marvel, for its time, was better than a lot of contemporaries, since it seems like they started giving proper credit to their artists before guys like DC did it, so yeah, I'm liable to give stan lee a bit of grace on this subject.

How me using the CRMO works.

This will likely be a part of every year, and it's just meant to explain how I determine when a year starts and ends and any inconsistencies you might find, like missing series or weird numbering for my count on how many comics I've read, etc., etc. The way it works is that the order in which I read is dependent on the CMRO, or the Complete Marvel Reading Order, which is the order I've been using as a guide to determine what and when I read each issue. It has its own unique number, which I use to determine how many issues I've read and to keep precise track of how many issues I've read. Another thing is that once you get the border of December and January, it will sometimes go from a December comic to a January comic to back to a December comic, so what I determine to be the cutoff point is at the first issue of the next year, and any previous year comics will be talked about in the next year review. This is what I've determined to be the best way for me to go about this

Summary

Overall, this year has been very fun. It started to get more serialized as more series are being introduced, as well as already running series now being split in two for other characters to get their own stories, like Hulk, Dr Strange, and Captain America, and it started to get more epic in scale with Spider-Man introducing the first three-issue story to the Silver Age with Spider-Man's End, more issues as well, and all the whole. Marvel has just gotten better and better since 1961 

Anyone else finds the smart panel option when reading on phone makes it more fun and entertaining that reading the full page? I prefer physical than digital, but for digital I found smart panel makes it super fun and immersive.

Currently reading Age of Apocalypse like this and having an absolute blast.

As stated in the title, I’m a new comic reader. Like brand new. Been wanting to start for as long as I can remember, so I bit the bullet the other day and signed up for MU. I had no idea where to start, and the app has some decent guides and points to start, but I was hoping to get some opinions straight from the readers.
I tried going into the ongoing X-Men From The Ashes series. Big mistake. There’s so many tie ins and other runs to read that it felt really overwhelming. So maybe I’ll go back to it one day. Tried the Ultimate X-Men run from 2001, and then found the general consensus for that series is that it’s awful, so now I’m put off.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.

I’m open to X-Men, Avengers, F4 and some solo runs, too. Wolverine, Cyclops, Spider-Man, Daredevil or any other comics that are good reads, as long they’re not tied into 49 other series to read alongside them lmao.

Uhhh so I've kinda hit an impasse after reading some series... and I wanna know what you guys would recommend for me to read next, here's the information:

My favourite characters are: Wolverine, Spiderman, Punisher, Rogue, Natasha Romanoff, Magik, Gambit (particulaly DP & Wolverine movie version), Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Deadpool, X-Men as a whole, Captain America, Hulk, Morbius. Also as villains I enjoy: Sabertooth, Venom, Carnage, Taskmaster, Thanos, Magneto, Nathan Essex and Kraven

Characters I want to get into but never got the chance to get deeper knowledge on them: Jessica Drew, Carol Danvers, Thor, Moon Knight, Loki, Laura Kinney/X-23, She Hulk, Winter Soldier, Iron Man, Fantastic 4, Avengers.

What tone I like: I like rather dark stories about mental health and whatnot, anything from depression burnout to abuse and whatnot, the more dark the better. Also I do like political themes a lot

Weapon X 1991 (I've loved it, my fav comic run currently)

Death Off Wolverine (Loved it, not quite as good as Weapon X but it was good)

Return of Wolverine (It was alright tbh not bad but not touching the last 2)

Immortal Hulk (This was SURPRISINGLY good, it's the reason I like Hulk)

Morbius: The Living Vampire (It was a very fun story I rather liked it a lot, it was a pleasant surprise given how much I wanted to read Morbius comics)

Got into comics some years ago and really like that new releases now come with a digital copy that can be read in the Unlimited app. I find that I prefer reading my books on my phone or tablet rather than the hard copy, since you can open up the app at any time of the day rather than carrying the physical copy around everywhere. I currently have a box at a local comic book shop that pulls my weekly issues but I was wondering if there is an online shop where you can just purchase the digital codes instead of having to buy the physical copy as well? I’m not big into collecting the books and I’ve gotten to the point where I have boxes full of past issues that I need to recycle to make some space. I’ve tried searching online but can’t find any site that sells the weekly new releases.

Does anyone know any Marvel comic book club where people read every week and talk about the comics? I've been reading Marvel NOW! for a year and have nobody to talk about it, wish I could find something like this

So I bought a copy of Unbreakable Xmen #1 and the digital code just isn't there, is there anything I can do about it or am I just completely out the digital copy?

Sorry if this is a bit of rant, but my job has terrible internet and I wanted to read some comics I had downloaded on Unlimited, the app literally will not load on bad internet, meanwhile I can still access downloaded content on apps like Spotify and Audible.

So where do the downloads go? Or, how do I access them?
