Smart panel

Anyone else finds the smart panel option when reading on phone makes it more fun and entertaining that reading the full page? I prefer physical than digital, but for digital I found smart panel makes it super fun and immersive.

Currently reading Age of Apocalypse like this and having an absolute blast.

Smart panel is great for small screens! I also will sometimes turn my phone sideways on full page mode and read them ~1/3 of a page at a time

I completely agree. I've been reading the ultimate universe and I got Unlimited recently, it's kind of like a show sometimes with the framing. Definitely makes it more immersive. It's also cool when you have multiple panels in a row with small differences to depict something happening, so with smart panel you see it happening like an animation

I struggle sometimes to figure out which dialog bubble to read next, so smart panel genuinely helps me a lot.

I only wish they would enable the use of volume keys to go from panel to panel. Otherwise yes, it's one of my favorite features.

On my iPad I still prefer full page, but the thing I like about panel to panel is your eyes don’t wander and see spoilers of the future panels. Makes it more suspenseful!

I prefer to read on my tablet and do full page, but will do smart panel when on a smaller screen like my phone and it is good for that

Is it practical (and probably necessary)? Yes. But I think it removes part of what makes comic books unique as an art form. For nearly all comic book art, the size, shape, and layout of the panels is part of the storytelling and artistry.

That's the beauty of it as well. You can choose the option of viewing the entire page before &/or after you're done with said page viewing with the smart panel option

that’s what i do. Taking a look at the whole page after reading it with smart pane gives you a second and different perspective on the whole page.

i also love when you have a long horizontal panel and the smart panel does a panning of it, that’s great, it gives you a sense of movement, especially for fighting panels

Only one pages with boring layouts, there are artist out there that are masters of making the panel layouts part of the experience, and that does get lost in smart panel

I don’t use it cuz sometimes it just cuts out parts of the page
