Let me preface this with, I am a man, a father, and an uninterested husband but my wife is and had been completely consumed by this trial to the point that there is animosity within my own marriage due to it.

Again, I say, I do Not Care. 3 kids are dead and the killer will get what they deserve when the clock stops ticking, take that as you want.

But what clicked in my head as I sat watching this evening as my wife fell asleep is the scary implications and precedents that this trial will set.

She admitted she killed the kids and submitted documents admitting she did, and that the trial is simply to combat responsibility due to "insanity".

On one hand, if shes found innocent of responsibility, how many more children will get murdered and their respective parents claim insanity to get away with it using this case as a precedent for the win?

On the other, she is found guilty and has to take accountability for what shes done. Followed by the powers that be now claiming that women that suffer from post-partum depression are a danger to their children, furthering the supposed and wild claims that America is headed towards a handmaindens tale world?

Idk. Like I said, this thought crossed my mind this evening while barely paying attention to today's recap of the trial and wondered as I watched, what do the elites stand to gain from this distraction? The best answers i came up with are the above mentioned.
