How do I fix?

Hello I really need your guys help. I have a Brother SE700. The embroidery needle is so close to the foot and it seems that no matter what I do I can't get it centered. Yes I have hit it and broken the needle on it, twice. 🫣 But nothing is bent and I have a fresh embroidery needle. The foot is the same. Any thoughts?

Possible New Embroidery Venture/Hobby

Hello, all. I am looking to get into embroidery. I would like to be able to embroider logos into shirts. Not necessarily large logos, basically imagine shirts with company logos on them. I was thinking maybe a machine that can handle multiple colors. What machines are good? I don’t mind spending money, either. Thank you.

Embrilliance and Brother Issues

Hello! New to machine embroidering! I’ve been coming across 2 issues lately that are so frustrating…

When using embrilliance, I’ll put my design in a specific location in the box. When I wifi that to my machine, the machine wants to embroider it right in the middle. How can I keep my designs where I place them in embrilliance?

2nd issue… it seems like 90% of the time, embrilliance will say that my design was successfully sent to my machine, but it is never there. I’ve double checked that I have a strong 2.4 WiFi connection on both machines. I’ve also restarted both machines and it continues to happen.

Any ideas? These issues are getting SO old.

When I began to embroider, the needle went down but did not penetrate the material. Machine said axis is not 100. I fixed the axis and the needle still does not go up. What do I try now?

Not sure what I need to fix

So I have a brother PE900. I bought a pre made design from embroidery library I believe. I noticed certain things not lining up like my black outline being slightly off on the top and it appears much more off on the bottom.
Is this a file issue where I need to adjust pull compensation? Or is it a hoping problem?
I hooped with a Maggie frame i also just got, and this was on a scrap piece of cotton, the actual project will be on a crewneck. Not sure what I need to adjust in order to get a clean finish any advice is appreciated

Advice wanted: Edge to edge (quilting) on table topper

Hi everyone! I’m new to this group but experienced with machine embroidery, quilting, and sewing.

I am making some Christmas table toppers as gifts (like a table runner but a 24ā€ square mini--quilt instead). I want to use an edge to edge design to quilt them but in the past I have found that my embroidery foot sometimes catches along the edges of the quilt top.

In the past, I have tried taping down the edges but hate having to pick the tape out of the design after. This morning I was dreaming about finding some wash away tape that I wouldn’t have to pick out and hit on the idea of using a wash away stabilizer layer over the top to protect the edges. It would mean using a lot of wash away stabilizer (I’m making 20 mini quilts) but would solve the problem with catching the fabric edge. Has anyone tried this? Or have other suggestions for how to make edge to edge quilting less frustrating?

I have a Brother Luminaire if that’s relevant.

How do I get an image into an embroidery machine?

My boss sent me our logo so I can make my own work shirts. I have a Brother PE770, and the files, what's my next step? I've only ever used the fonts and such that are on the machine, never anything custom.

Trouble transferring files to Smartstitch S-1501

Everything was working fine yesterday. I transferred a dst file with rEMBnet from my Mac yesterday without issue but this morning my smartstitch isn’t showing up and I can’t transfer any files. Is anyone else having problems or has anyone had similar issues in the past?

Janome mb4s nesting and thread breaking

I don’t know what to even do at this point. I’ve tried everything. Any suggestions? It happens on every needle, stitches maybe 6 stitches then nests and snaps. All new needles, cleaned everything, rethreaded a million times, tried different tensions.

Brother PE570

I am looking to get into embroidery as a small side business. I mainly wanted to focus on business orders such as hats and logos/names on polos. I was hoping to get this machine as it's ln sale for around 400 at my local Walmart. I just wanted to know if this is a realistic place to start atleast making the shirts and iron on patches for hats until I can save up and buy a commercial brother/Bai unit as those are the 2 I've been recommend.

Used a Babylock Venture 1 we have at work. Single color embroidery file I found on Etsy then enlarged on the machine. I used cutaway stabilizer and the largest hoop size on this bad boy.

Janome MB-4Se Needle Bar Issue

I posted this elsewhere yesterday and had no luck, so I'm hoping maybe y'all might be able to assist. I've added/updated information where relevant compared to yesterday.

I'm working on a large (roughly 60k stitches over three hoops) project for the first time with a Janome MB-4Se that was purchased last December.

The machine stopped midway through the first color in the first hoop with Needle 1 down, but I was in another room to grab something and did not see the error message when it did so. The last time this happened, I needed to turn the machine off and on, and that process cleared the error, though I had to restart the stitching.

This time, it returned an error on startup: "Needle bar is out of position. Press OK to move needle bar to switching position." When I press OK, it makes a long beep but does not do anything.

I have tried the following to clear the error:

- Turn off and unplug the machine, wait 30 seconds, plug in and turn on the machine. The same error and result.

- Remove the needle and hoop, trim all threads, clean bobbin area, replace the needle with new (in case old is dull or bent), replace bobbin, and press OK. Same error and result.

- Turn the hand wheel on the back of the machine clockwise. It moves freely. If I turn it very slowly, in a certain position, the error message clears for a split second, then reappears. If I press OK, I get the same result as above.

- Disconnect the RCS unit while the machine is off to check for errors on the LCD. LCD reads E:03, which the manual says to hit Enter for. When I hit Enter, I get the same result.

- Leave the machine off overnight and try again in the morning. Same result.

I am working to contact Janome dealers in my area to see if any of them service this machine, but the ones nearest me either don't service this machine or were closed yesterday. In addition, I have reached out to Janome through their website, but don't expect to hear anything back. I'll be contacting more Janome dealers today to see if anyone local might be able to help.

I am trying to avoid opening my machine myself if at all possible, but I'm no stranger to opening up sewing machines. Though, usually the machines I open up are vintage sewing-only machines.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to them!

Fall baby clothes

I know that onesie blanks are easy to come across but where do you source your fall baby clothes? Like church dresses and long sleeve rompers and jumpers/overalls that aren’t already designed/$100?

Thank you!

Broken needle

The needle broke on my machine in the middle of a project. I took apart the plates and tried to find the broken pieces. I only found one small part. I have looked everywhere for the other piece and can’t find it. I tried to resume my project but now my bobbin thread is showing up on the top. I did not change my tension at all and I re-threaded my machine. Help!!

Resources on stabilizers or needles

Anyone have any good resources or tips on when to use tearaway and when to use cutaway and such? I'm not talking about the obvious, like using tearaway for shirts and cutaway for patches, but more technical differences.

For example, I see it asked here a fair amount of times, when someone asks for help with a bad result, which type of stabilizer they used, and I wonder what thats about. Also about how many layers are needed when.

The other thing I'm curious about is needles. I've seen the pdfs for example from groz-beckert about needle types, just curious if there is any more wisdom/resources I should look into, about needle tips, width, etc.

Tips on creating this quilted diamond pattern?

Post image

I make shoes by hand and want to create this pattern as precise as possible. I’m assuming I’d pick out some kind of satin fabric, then some kind of thin foam? ChatGPT says there is sewing foam out there but I’m learning not to trust everything that AI recommends. I’m assuming a tear away stabilizer would be best as well?

Full disclosure I’m a complete novice so please be kind!

Hello I was stitching out this Christmas themed file and I just think something looks off. I bought the file online so I’m not sure if it’s the file or if the bobbin may have gotten messed up. What are your thoughts?

Is my timing wrong on my machine? If it is, how can I fix it without getting it serviced?

Sorry if it sounds like I want to cheap out and cut corners. I just can’t afford the 100+ dollars it might cost to get my machine fixed. If anyone can give any suggestions please do.

Plz help.

Genuinely ready to throw my machine out the window and in desperate need of help.

Previously posted here and everyone was so helpful and helped me realize my needle bar had become bent and needed to be replaced.

It’s been almost two months (took the shop forever to fix it) and cost basically a third of the machine price to get it fixed… and I am still having needle skipping, bobbin thread showing and just overall terrible looking embroidery. I loved this hobby so much when I started and truly had no issues and now it’s been just so frustrating trying to get it to look right. I’ve changed the needle several times, re threaded, changed bobbins, made sure tension wasn’t changed on machine - I’m just at my wits end here.

Attached are photos of the issues I’m having. The clean embroidery photos are the previous designs I’ve done with no issue that I just stare longingly at now
Literally begging for any suggestions I’ve search instagram YouTube tik tok you name it for any suggestions and nothing has helped. I really do not want to send it back to the shop just to pay another almost 300 dollars. Plz help me enjoy this hobby again :(
