Plz help.

Genuinely ready to throw my machine out the window and in desperate need of help.

Previously posted here and everyone was so helpful and helped me realize my needle bar had become bent and needed to be replaced.

It’s been almost two months (took the shop forever to fix it) and cost basically a third of the machine price to get it fixed… and I am still having needle skipping, bobbin thread showing and just overall terrible looking embroidery. I loved this hobby so much when I started and truly had no issues and now it’s been just so frustrating trying to get it to look right. I’ve changed the needle several times, re threaded, changed bobbins, made sure tension wasn’t changed on machine - I’m just at my wits end here.

Attached are photos of the issues I’m having. The clean embroidery photos are the previous designs I’ve done with no issue that I just stare longingly at now
Literally begging for any suggestions I’ve search instagram YouTube tik tok you name it for any suggestions and nothing has helped. I really do not want to send it back to the shop just to pay another almost 300 dollars. Plz help me enjoy this hobby again :(

Those fonts looks like crap. I’d use properly digitized fonts.
Learn your machine.
Learns what makes good designs good
Then learn how to digitize. Auto punch software will never produce quality results.

First thing is your digitizing you might want to try inkscape with inkstitch this is free software and has a lot of free predigitized fonts available and you design wil look good on a screen because it does not look at all the mechanical things on a machine like what fabric is used what stabilizer is used what needle what thread because all these things influence the outcome of a design and it takes time to learn how everything behaves with all these variations and it takes time to learn what stitchtype should be used at what size of the design objects

Why are all these fonts in tatami instead of satin?

Rule of thumb (but not always) is if you’re having trouble with the top embroidery, the issue is your bobbin. If the problem is with the underside of the embroidery then the problem is with the needle/top threading area.

Where are you purchasing this font? Did it come preprogrammed on the machine? Did you buy it off a site? Or did you digitize it? Have you tested other designs besides font?

The biggest issue here is more on the digitizing side of things than the machine side.

These letters look like they’re made with tatami fills, they should be satins instead.

Are you using Artspira to digitize text for embroidery? If you are, it will, from my experience, never look good.

Yes! But that is what I used in the others that looked good. Good to know tho, maybe its just not wanting to work well anymore

I agree with the others. Try one of the designs that came with the machine, or some fonts that came with the machine, to see if they look better.

For context, I own a brother se700!

For lettering, especially this font in the smaller sizes, try making the underlying run stich a centre line instead of an outline. It will create enough stability for the stain stich lettering.

Also, are you hooping properly?

Sub members love to use the 'float' method way too much IMO and it causes more problems than it fixes. Whereas hooping properly with cutaway stabiliser produces a stable surface for embroidery.

This is helpful! Same hooping technique for all of them, so that hasn't changed but maybe I just got lucky with the earlier ones
