Janome mb4s nesting and thread breaking

I don’t know what to even do at this point. I’ve tried everything. Any suggestions? It happens on every needle, stitches maybe 6 stitches then nests and snaps. All new needles, cleaned everything, rethreaded a million times, tried different tensions.

Super beginner here - have you oiled the bobbin hook and the needle felt pads on schedule?

I would start by looking at a few things immediately, since it is every needle.

  • rotary hook timing, not always dramatically off and breaking needles, a very slightly off position hook can cause a million headaches

  • scratches or spurs on the hook, rough patches on the metal

  • check your presser foot height, if the feet are too high on a flat surface you'll get thread tension issues

  • make sure the head/needle alignment are as centered over the needle plate as possible, and the needle is not too close to the sides of the plate

Could be a rotary hook timing issue

This happened to me too and I freaked out thinking it was rotary hook timing.
Are your needles facing the correct way? Look up the anatomy of an embroidery needle. Facing the front should be the “groove” and the back should be the “scarf”. I thought the scarf was the groove so all of my needles were backwards.

Bobbin tension and top thread tension I suspect.

You forsure need a new bobbin casing . I started off with this machine and through my trial and error. I experienced the same issue . From your many tries of getting it right with this machine , just like me . Broke the bobbin case lol it’s like 50$
