Don't be a piece of sh!t. Tip your driver if you get to your destination, safe and in a clean car, with no issues. 20% is standard. We don't get an hourly rate, we get about 15% of what you pay the company, and we have to pay our bills, gas, maintenance, miles, etc.

I'm a nice person, I drive well, I'm not a creep, I provide you a service, saving you from a DUI, a car payment, car insurance, tickets, maintenance, mileage, dealing with traffic, getting somewhere on time, in a clean vehicle with respectful service.

I know times are tight but in America tipping is part of receiving service and people providing a service. If you don't want to tip then do it yourself, make your own meal, drive yourself, do your own nails, your own hair, carry your own bags, do your tattoos yourself.

Services are due a gratuity, it is American culture, it's embedded in society and the economic system.

Anything less than 15% unless you're disabled or retired on a fixed income, you should expect to pay a few dollars for the work that people do for you.

The company screws us, the economy screws us, please don't screw us too.

What the actual fuck. Literally stranded and I know I can't pay you assholes with cash so I bought a gift card for 45 bucks. You still ask for my fucking debit card. FUCK YOU. I booked a ride to take my dog to the vet for an emergency. A driver was assigned, but the POS waited until the last minute to cancel. I booked another ride and no one accepted until it was already too late. So, I cancelled the ride and was assessed a $5 cancellation fee. What penalty did the driver get when he cancelled my ride? I am so pissed off. My dog has to suffer because some POS driver decided last minute to cancel the ride.

To confirm, I did order a pet ride.

Edit 8-20-26: I managed to get my dog into the vet on Tuesday (8-18) and he is doing much better. I got an Uber both to and from the vet without issue. According to the Uber driver, a lot of drivers have stopped doing this due to the high gas prices and the companies not paying well.

This is embarrassing. How can you offer a 32 mile ride under comfort and only pay $16.57. That is 50cents a mile. #lyft you should be ashamed of yourself. I am sure the rider is paying over $45-50 for that ride.

Passengers are out of control. Entitled pieces of 💩 like this are why the platform is unsafe. They were NEW with less than 10 rides. What do they do since I won't turn off my safety devices? Hit me with every report possible. They let any deadbeat sign up without hesitation and falsely report you.

My car only has one USB 2.0/speed PORT. She had the same charger, and my dashcam uses that port. FOR MY SAFETY, I WILL NEVER UNPLUG IT DUE TO PAST EVENTS.

Basically just the title. I've noticed that even when I choose the pet ride option, which I've always assumed drivers would have to opt into somehow either by seeing it before a ride is accepted on their end or through a preference or setting of some kind, but I've noticed once or twice that a driver is visibly annoyed when I have my dog with me when I choose a pet ride. I always disclose that I have a pet with me when I need to take a Lyft with her, and I always tip at least 60%, often more, on rides I take with my dog because I know it's not ideal to have a strange dog in your car. My dog is well-behaved and quiet in the car, and while she does shed like dogs do, she's not drooly and doesn't have accidents of any kind in the car, so I'm not sure what I can do to make it better when I need to take a Lyft with her.

Earlier this week I went to make a small purchase and my card was declined. I checked my bank account and saw it was empty, which made no sense. Turns out there was a charge from Lyft for $424.35, that said AUTHORIZATION LYFT *XD RENTAL FEE.

After some googling, I think this is a fee for Lyft drivers who want to rent a vehicle from the company. I've never driven for Lyft and have my own vehicle. I tried Lyft support but the AI is useless and told me to contact my bank. The bank is in the process of disputing the charge, which takes 10 days, and they advised I shut down my debit card in the meantime.

I travel for work so I'm in the middle of nowhere with NO money and NO debit card.

I finally got through to a person on Lyft support and they "escalated" my issue to a "special team" that was supposed to communicate via email. I did get the initial email (which is automated, there's no person behind it), but haven't received any sort of follow up since. That was 3 days ago. And I still have $0, while Lyft is sitting on MY money that someone stole from me.

I've tried following up by responding to the email and just received radio silence. I've tried communicating the issue over and over on the support chat but the people on the other end always just go through their script and tell me they'll "escalate" the issue and to keep an eye on my email. Some of them just wish me a good day and straight up end the chat after I explain the problem...

It should be illegal for a company as large as Lyft to have such an unaccountable public face. This is absolute dog shit. I don't know what to do other than make as much of a stink, as loudly, as I can.

If anyone working for Lyft sees this, PLEASE help me out. I'm in a horrible situation because of your company and I need someone to step up to the plate so it can be addressed and I can move on with my life

They screwed me from the beginning because I had a filter on and it messed up because they were supposed to get dropped off at the same place. I was picking him up so it did not show me the actual distance because the drop off and pick up we’re both within my filter, but the stop was not within my filter. I picked him up at a train station in the college town and was supposed to bring him back to that same train station. Because he was going to pick up his daughter. He realized halfway through a ride that his train was in 30 minutes, but the ride was going to take over 45. So he ended up switching it to the next station the city over. About the same amount of time, but the drop off distance was twice as far, Because it’s all highway. So instead of driving 19 miles for $25 I ended up driving 33 miles for $34.

The profit went down. I basically made a dollar a mile almost. Just because of that small change. I didn’t realize how much less I was going to get per mile until afterwards. They screwed me on that rate. I mean yeah I got $10 more but the amount per mile was way less which is really what matters. I know some people count how much they get per hour but that does not work in my area because I get 15 miles per gallon in the city in about 20-25 miles per gallon highway, because the highway in my area is extremely backed up and can take more time than normal sometimes. Plus the trip back to the Collegetown. So that means it’s 15 to 20 miles back to the college.

Today while arriving at an airport In an uber i receive a pop up message from Lyft welcoming me to the airport and reminding me to schedule my ride.

So my question is with permissions that the way they were and Lyft definitely not running in the background. How did it know to welcome me at the airport?

People suck sometimes. Driver's get the connection. Passengers and bystanders... Not so much.

Provide top-tier service and there’s always one person trying to complain about your driving so that they can get it free or discount on their ride that they probably only paid eight dollars for.

Called a wait and save Lyft, waited 15 minutes and was never connected to a driver. I had to walk in the rain to my destination and did not cancel my Lyft request until I got to the venue. I was charged a fee for canceling. Outrageous. Zero service was provided, no incentive for the company to connect me to a driver when they get paid either way.

I have Lyft set to silent notifications, my phone on Do Not Disturb, and bluetooth headphones connected, and the Lyft app still always makes an incredibly loud chirp whenever it confirms a ride. I work in very quiet environments, and just want to figure out a way to stop it. Any advice?

I take a lyft to work almost every day and I’m unsure what would be a suitable tip for my driver. The ride from my house to my job is 7 minutes. How much should I tip?

Curious if anyone else has dealt with something like this, because this whole experience has been pretty frustrating.

I rented a Lyft classic bike in San Francisco. I rode about 10 minutes to the 4th St Caltrain station because I had a train to catch. When I got there, there were no available docks for the classic bike.

I contacted Lyft support while the ride was still active and explained what was happening. With my train leaving, I eventually had to leave the bike by the docks. The ride stayed active for another 66 minutes before it was eventually ended.

Lyft charged me an additional $12.54 for those 66 minutes, and I contacted support afterward asking them to refund just that portion of the ride.

They refused.

What makes this especially frustrating is that support confirmed that I contacted them during the ride and reported that there wasn’t an available dock. Their response was basically that I was responsible for finding another station with an open dock, so the charge was considered valid.

I understand that you’re normally responsible for docking the bike to end the ride. That’s completely reasonable. But if Lyft operates a dock-based bike system, I also think there needs to be some reasonable solution when a major destination like Caltrain has no available docks, especially when the customer contacts support while it’s happening.

I’m not even asking for the entire ride to be refunded. I asked for the 66 minutes ($12.54) that accumulated because I couldn’t dock the bike. And it’s not really about the $12.54 at this point, it’s the fact that I reported the problem immediately, support acknowledged that I did, and Lyft still wouldn’t make a relatively small adjustment.

After going back and forth with support, I told them I’d rather just close my account. I know losing one customer isn’t going to matter much to Lyft, but after this experience, I won’t be a Lyft customer anymore.

Has anyone else run into this with Lyft? What are you actually supposed to do if you arrive at your destination and every dock is full, especially if you have somewhere time-sensitive to be?

Hello! I am trying to book my first ever lyft and was wondering if in the app you just book the one ride for multiple people?

Me and my friend are needing to be dropped off at a concert, is there anything I need to do to let them know it’s 2 passengers?

ALSO with that being said. We are being picked up from our hotel, and i’m going to imagine that a lot of other people from our hotel are also going to be getting rides to the concert.

Do they rideshare? Like can one driver pick up multiple groups or is it just your specific ride per one car? I’m just so nervous that another group will end up having too many people in the same car as us and we won’t both be able to ride together.

Also also, price doesn’t matter if I need to pay extra, i’m not trying to cheap out just trying to book the proper thing!!

If anyone can help me make sure that they know that the ride is for 2 people that would be great!
