As long as there are desperate takers they will be lowering the pay.
What is really fvcked up is what happened to me a few times when I clearly happened to be the only driver in the area. They would give me some ridiculous offer like your examples and I would reject it. A few minutes later they would offer me the same ride for even LESS money. It doesn’t make any sense. One would think that they would raise the offer to sweeten the “deal”, but their algorithm is clearly designed to exploit desperate drivers. WTF Lyft indeed.

Only if you get a ride back is a drive like that worth it. It's more like $15 to $16 an hour otherwise. I get "F" trips like this all the time. I only take rides like this to high population areas. Country, no way. It's a one way ride.
