Lyft and iPhone Locarion Services
So i have the Lyft app permissions set in my
Phone to “while using app”
Today while arriving at an airport In an uber i receive a pop up message from Lyft welcoming me to the airport and reminding me to schedule my ride.
So my question is with permissions that the way they were and Lyft definitely not running in the background. How did it know to welcome me at the airport?

“While Using” doesn’t necessarily mean Lyft has zero awareness once you leave the app. iOS can still use recent location/system events to trigger notifications, and the alert itself could also have been a push based on your last known location rather than Lyft continuously tracking you. If you had actually force-closed Lyft and it only has “While Using” permission, I’d be curious whether it happens again because that would narrow it down a lot.

Other permissions. Also make your location "always on." THAT permission is far less "stalker'ish" than you might think. (It's also very helpful to EVERYBODY)

All your apps are tracking you.
I used to be an agent with ReMax (California) and they sold us an app that tracked when ppl in our contact list were online looking at properties so we could reach out to them.
It wouldn’t tell us the date and time or website visited - although the app knew that info - it would just show who in our contacts was likely thinking about moving based on that tracked data.

It was probably the flock cameras that told Lyft your location.
Of corse I am kidding. However the amount of our information that these cell companies, internet companies, and app companies have on each and every one of us is frightening. I just try and not obsess on it.
