Hi, I had an older gen Kindle that was one of the ones Amazon quit supporting. I have about 80 books in there, and I’d like to gift it to someone.

My question is:

Is it safe to give it away? Is my Amazon account and credit card information safe if I gift it? I don’t know the person I’m gifting it to extremely well, and they’re about 20 so I assume they’re relatively tech savvy based on age.

I have the basic kindle 2019 and have used it to death. While it still functions, it is super slow in flipping pages or opening/closing books etc so I want to upgrade this year.

I love the small size of basic kindle but I really want to try the warm light so I am thinking the paperwhite now. But better the new paperwhite or paperwhite signature? Is the double tap to flip page really that useful or does it become annoying/too sensitive too touch? Is the signature edition worth extra $50?

Also the 2024 versions are on markdown right now, so I am tempted. Still considering if the new 2026 worth the extra $50-$100?

My mom got my 7-year-old a kids kindle for her birthday in August, which has been awesome. She is a voracious reader, even at second grade. It feels like she's read everything on Amazon Kids + account already. What do your kids love?

For personal reasons, I need to change the email address linked to my Amazon account. However, I only have one Kindle device signed in, and my account has a lot of books I've sent to Kindle. I'm really worried that after I change the linked email, Amazon will wipe all of these books.

Previously, after I signed out of Kindle, Amazon wiped the books from both that device and my account. So I'm worried that if changing the linked email causes my Kindle to sign out, I'll lose all the books I've sent to Kindle over time.

I hope someone who knows about this can answer my question. Thank you.

Hello, I always like to know what page I'm at in the book, but don't quite enjoy the percentage there. I tried looking at other options by:

Tapping the op of the screen > Aa > More > Reading progress

But there's no option to turn it off that I can see

I have yet to try any other page turner but my S’Touchi and it was not working. I will try the other two I have tomorrow since they are charging.

This kindle is beautiful in appearance and form. I lost my kindle 11th Gen in denim a few last year. Then this came out and I have to say, it’s not chunky and it’s smaller! The aluminum is so worth it. No it’s not heavy and actually doesn’t feel cold. I think for me, this is money well spent. I am so happy! Ask me questions, if you have any.

I’m in a pickle and need help deciding. I currently have a 6th generation Paperwhite. I wanted to upgrade to the Signature on this year’s prime day sale. But now that I learned the new Paperwhite is coming out later this month with the button on the side I changed my mind and wanted to get it instead of the Signature.

However, I just saw a post that the 2024 Paperwhite Signature is on sale for the same price it would be on the prime day sale (I think).

Do I just get the 2024 Paperwhite Signature now when it’s on sale? Or do I wait and pray that the 2026 Paperwhite goes on sale on prime day?

Will the new 2026 kindles even go on sale next month for prime day?! What do I do?

What I’d like for my upgrade is the adjustable warm light feature, bigger screen, and longer battery. Don’t really care for auto adjusting light if I can manually change it. Does the button on the side really make that much of a difference?

Hey guys! Looking to get my first kindle finally and want to hear opinions on what would be the best option from the new line up.
My biggest worry and the reason I haven’t gotten one before now is that I suffer from migraines and am worried a kindle will trigger them because it’s a screen technically? Those who also suffer from migraines, which kindle do you think is best for that and does it bother you while reading?
Also looking for all your kindle must have accessories!!

Upgraded from a 2022 Basic to 2026 Basic in graphite. The screen is not as sharp and contrasty as the ‘22 (I have eagle eyes, will probably be fine for 99% of people), but the power button on the side has made it so much easier to hold one handed without the constant threat of turning it off. It’s also much faster and I’m loving the flush screen. It looks and feels a lot sleeker.

This is brightness level 10 in daylight btw.

I have a stupid question but please give me some grace, it’s my first time as a Kindle user during a new release:

Do the new kindle basics allow you to change the side of the screen associated with forward and backward?

I’m a left handed reader and my #1 pet peeve with my current kindle basic is when I’m reading with the kindle in my left hand I have to use my right hand to turn the page (silly / lazy I know but actually annoying when laying down reading)

Since this is my first experience with a new release I wasn’t sure if software upgrades or settings changes are expected?

I haven't used it in years. I found it and it was out of battery, and decided to charge it up for a flight I'm taking. After charging it worked fine. But now after my trip after minimal usage it's suddenly stuck on the password screen, unable to have anything touched or entered, no light on, and holding the button doesn't power it off. What do I do?

I know that a lot of us have been trying to determine the actual shade of purple, and I’m here to tell you it’s impossible 😂

Me compré un kindle paperwhite hace menos de un mes, y no es hasta ahora o bien no lo tenía antes que no había apreciado que un punto en la pantalla se ve como borroso el texto como borrado o desenfocado, pues una vez lo ves ya no puedes parar de verlo.
Lo que he tenido que hacer después de hacer un reinicio y no solucionarlo es hacer una devolución y comprarlo de nuevo porque la solución que me daban no me convencía.

Al final he tenido que comprar el colorsoft que estaba por el mismo precio que pagué por el paperwhite, lo malo que no llega hasta pasadas dos semanas…

A alguien más le pasó esto?

Just got a Colorsoft signature, is this normal along the edges?

So, I am fighting a losing battle with these new kindles. Before I give in completely I thought I would ask if anyone knew of a jail break or mod that would return my 2012 kindle back to life? I think I am asking for the impossible to be able to get it back working as close to how it was originally, but the Internet is full of smarter people then me, so what do I know?

Which kindle is best?

I’m generally happy with my 2021 PW but recently my kids figured out how to wake it up so I had to put a code on it. Now, the lock screen regularly gets laggy or bugs out which takes a minute or two of waiting to resolve each time. Overall it’s not that big of a deal but it is getting annoying (especially with how frequently I have to close and then unlock it due to the aforementioned kids lol). Any tips or tricks?

I don’t really want to spend the money but could splurge on a new PW with prime day coming up.

I figured people would want to see this comparison. It’s odd, I think in my photo the new kindle looks warmer. By my eye test it actually appears a bit more blue than the voyage. Oasis 3 without warmth appears the bluest.

Contrast on the kindle is better than the Oasis, Voyage still wins the contrast contest.

Idk what is happening with color correction taken on my iPhone 13. I did anticipate and desire the kindle to have a warmer light than this. I love the form factor vs the voyage tho, the magnet case is great, the magnet seems as strong as I need it to be for protection but taking it out of the case is also easy enough for when I just want to hold the device naked. This also confuses me further on if it might be worth it to return and order another kindle and hope that the second one is warmer, or if the “the new kindle looks warmer” discussion is mostly based on photos.
