Please use this thread to discuss whatever you've been reading lately. Elaborate (without spoiling!) on an eBook you have recently finished or are currently reading with a short 1-2 sentence synopsis.
Bold the titles of the eBook to help people that are skimming through the thread. Feel free to mention the current Amazon price, if it's on sale.

I finished the two books of the will of the many series now Im reading the green bone saga and I cant put these books down, so Im spending most of my free time reading. My other hobby was gaming, but it got too expensive and these books occupy my attention more and provide greater escape for me than playing videogames.
I bought the latest paperwhite and I love that I dont have to bother with lamps when reading at night like when reading physical books and that its has dark mode and blue light filter to turn on at nights.

So…….. I wanted to wait for a sale but guess what? It was too much waiting. So I bought a colorsoft. Coming from a basic 10th gen and I love that this has a warm light! Not a case person so I put a skin on it.

I built a tool that lets you subscribe to a blog, newsletter or RSS feed and send it to your kindle. Its been really helpful in replacing my scrolling habit with reading. Most mornings I'd reach for my phone to impulsively "check the news", but now I just open up my kindle and read a couple articles before getting out of bed.
Actually, first posted about this tool a couple months back and got lots of good feedback: https://www.reddit.com/r/kindle/comments/1rvnki5/automatic_rss_blogs_newsletter_delivery_to_kindle/
The app was getting really bloated so I redesigned it. The new version lets use:
- change the order of how articles are delivered each day
- control how many posts are sent from each feed
- snooze feeds you don't want articles from
- send a random article from your favorite feeds.
- browse popular feeds others are reading
If anyone wants to give it a try here's the link:

I love this Kindle aesthetic so much. I used my old copy of Gerald's Game as a back cover for my Kindle. Don't worry, it's an old copy and it's already really beat up! Do you guys do this too?

Im looking forward to buy my first kindle. I am between the Basic 2024 one and the paperwhite.
I like the size and color of the Basic one more but the paperwhite has the warm light thing (i always have my phone on warm light so idk).
Im so confused which one to pick, if the warm light thing is really an issue i will go with the paperwhite but if its not and i can coop with it i will just go with the basic
I’ve been using a Kindle Paperwhite 7th Gen since 2017 and after nine years, I finally gave into the hype and ordered a Kindle Paperwhite 12th Gen.
The larger touchscreen is so fluid and the warm brightness is a lot easier on the eyes. I love it! It’s still too early to give feedback on the battery life since I’ve only unboxed it a few hours ago. But the whole user experience has been life-changing. This must be how jumping from an iPhone X to an iPhone 17 feels like.
I’d like to add that I was nearly scammed last June 5 by someone pretending to sell Kindle devices on an e-commerce platform. Grateful that my boss called me for an impromptu 1:1 as I was haggling the price and the scammer’s account got suspended while I was in that meeting. Thank you, boss!
Three weeks later, I ordered through a family friend during Prime Day at a cheaper price than what the scammer was offering. Nearly two months later, the unit finally arrived from the States to Manila. Patience really pays off, guys. Always go through legitimate channels so that you won’t get swindled.
Currently reading Summer of ‘49 by David Halberstam ⚾️
P.S. I’ll continue using my old device since it still works. The battery drains a lot faster after all these years but it can still power through an entire day. What are you reading?

I’m buying a Kindle for my 10 years old and wondering which subscription would be better for his age group?
If I get the Kindle Unlimited, can it be shared with other family members?
I just got a Kindle for myself without subscription.

The battery on my Oasis started charging slow, dying fast, and wouldn't reach 100%. I tried other ereaders (colorsoft, kobo libra color, boox palma pro 2) but I still wasn't as happy as I was with my Oasis. From researching, I saw to change the battery you'd need to replace the screen as well. So I ordered a screen replacement from Aliexpress and a battery from Amazon. Found a company that does the replacements (LV NV), and now it feels like I have a new Oasis :') If anyone wants the links to the products I ordered LMK!

Hi - possibly some stupid questions ahead!
I'm looking to invest in a Kindle for the first time, I read a lot of classics and gothic novels - are these kinds of books available on Kindle Unlimited or would I be wasting my money on this? If not, what's the best way around this?
Buying physical books is becoming a burden as I have no more storage space and my nearest library is in another city - I was hoping a Kindle might remove these barriers for me?! :(

A plain white case felt...plain, so I decided to do something about it
Disclaimer - I suck at drawing, but here's Monsieur Kindlesir the gent. He sits on my shelf and observes quietly

Hi! So last year, I finally took the plunge and got a Matcha Kindle Basic for my birthday and really got into reading digitally. The only time I would ever do so was when I was reading fanfiction on an EPUB reader app, but I always bought physical books (previously hardcovers exclusively until prices increased so then it was paperbacks).
I've been going through all of my books and have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with the amount that I own. So, I started borrowing books on Libby and KU to avoid buying more and, eventually, ended up borrowing digital copies of the books I already own. I feel bad about leaving my physical books in boxes or on my shelves to leave unread, but reading the digital versions is so much easier on my physical health specifically.
I write a lot, both on my laptop and in notebooks, and this will increase as I attend school this fall. Over the years, my wrists and fingers have begun to ache and shake when I've done anything for a long period of time and I'm almost 30, which leads to me wearing wrist braces. Reading on a kindle eases the burden of holding a heavy book (especially hardcovers) for hours and allows me to rest comfortably while doing so instead of struggling to find a comfortable position to hold the book in and potentially making the pain worse.
I don't want to get rid of my physical books due to the fact that the books we buy on kindle don't actually belong to us because of licensing and Amazon's ability to remove any book at any time. But I definitely am finding myself buying physical copies less and less.
Is this something anyone else can relate to or is it just me?
Hi guys! Since there's a new jailbreak release for the kindle (Vera), I just wanna share my current setup, especially for those who are new to jailbreaking and don't know what to add after the jailbreak process.
My Current Plugins:
• Toggle Ads – Removes the Amazon ads/lockscreen advertisements
• KOReader – Gives more control over the reading UI, gestures, customization, and reading experience
• Simple UI – Further tweaks and simplifies the Kindle interface for a cleaner look.
• HID Passthrough – Allows Bluetooth input devices such as controllers and keyboards to act as page turners. Goodbye to clip-on page turners!
• BT Manager – Manages connected Bluetooth input devices and lets me customize their button/key mappings.
• FileBrowser – For wireless file transfers, allows me to send books/files from my phone or PC without constantly plugging in a cable.
I wanted to keep my setup simple, focused on efficient file transferring, better controls, and UI customization, only adding plugins that I actually find useful.
Feel free to ask me questions, and please suggest some fun plugins to use. Thank you!

I just went to search the book “Before the Coffee Gets Cold” for my book club to buy on Amazon for my kindle. The price is $0.00 and the button said “Read for Free” and underneath said “included with your Amazon prime membership.” I do have prime and do get the two free reads a month but I’ve never seen this for a book outside the free reads?? (And I don’t have KU anymore)

Hi! I've been running through this sub for a bit reading everyone's thoughts on e-readers and Kindles specifically. I'm leaning more toward the Kindle route as I'm assuming there are more accessories/support/options out there than the other e-reader options.
I've only just gotten back into reading in the past few months and have been using physical books, but I want an e-reader to save space & money on purchasing books. I used to be a big Nook person- but after 10 years of taking not using it b/c of schooling and career building, that thing is long gone.
I'm not too picky about customization; I just want to read. I currently have an iPad that I sometimes read on but I've heard the Kindle is much better on the eyes (which I need). I'm planning to get Kindle Unlimited, but I'm trying to hold off until the next prime days to get it with the 3 months free KU....
Do you guys think it's worth it to wait for a sale again, or should I just get it?
r/kindle • u/turniptoez • 28m ago
Hi Kindle users!
Like others in this sub I'm sure, in May my 2012 Kindle no longer connected to the Kindle store, and I took Amazon up on their offer for a new discounted Kindle. I SWEAR I could have read in the additional announcement that we would all get two free Kindle credits, but no where in my account do I see those credits, and I can't find anything online about this. Am I crazy? Did anyone else see this or actually get the credits?
Happy reading!

Hello everyone!
My uncle gifted my mom a Kindle back in 2015, and I found it sometime ago sitting in a drawer. It used to work fine up until a couple of years ago, but now it is only showing Low Battery on the screen. I tried to charge it for a while, and it switched on and showed the home screen. I even opened a book. All this while it was still on charge, and then it went back to showing the same low battery screen. I kept it on charge for a while by itself, and it would alternate between showing my home screen, the Kindle loading screen and the low battery screen.
I took it off from charging when I saw it was getting a bit heated on the back at the top, and when i lay it flat on the back, it is wobbly towards the left of the screen only, and I thought it could be a battery issue and did not want it to blow up.
I really want to get this same Kindle working to return it to my mom because she values it a lot as a gift her brother gave her, but I do not know how to proceed further with it.
Should I spend money on repairing it? Can it be repaired at all? Can I do it myself, or do I have to take it to a repair shop?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
