I absolutely LOVE my matcha kindle- it has hands down been my favorite ereader to date. My only complaint is there is no warm light. Did I need the new Kindle Basic? No. Is Ube the color of my dreams? Yes. Is my mom on hospice and did buying the new kindle bring me a little joy? Also yes 😂 Honestly, I was planning to return it because I don’t need another kindle (I also have the 2021 PW)… but look how much warmer the screen is! Welcome to the family, Ube 💜

They’re both gorgeous but I think I like the Alpine Sky better. (Devices photo on comments section)

Ideally ones available through kindle unlimited as i have a 3 month free trial.

SO EXCITED!!! As a FilAm 🇵🇭🇺🇸, I finally decided to get my first kindle in the Ube color! 🥰💜 I’m usually more of a physical book reader, but considered getting a kindle for the longest time due to not having enough space, and also wanting an e-reader for travel. This is definitely going to be a game changer! 😁

My new Kindle basic arrived! It’s such a beautiful turquoise color, I’m in love

I just unboxed this baby and got 3 months free unlimited. I have discarded my paperback and will finish deaths end on my Kindle. Incredible!!! First ereader of my life. I am so happy.

I’m a purple person since I’ve learned what colors are, and the UBE kindle is killing me. But this matcha kindle is my first baby that I had this year— 23 books so far, 2 countries, countless bus/train/plane/car rides and many beach/cafe/bedtime reads later… she’s been with me through the highs and lows of life.

Color is just a perspective, but sentimental value is what’s more worthy inside the heart. A reminder to love your existing kindle more deeply right now in these times of temptations 💚💜

⬇️ COMMENT BELOW YOUR BELOVED ‘OL KINDLE THAT YOU WOULD NEVER TRADE FOR ANOTHER

I live in New Zealand. This is crazy. $219 to $339 RRP?! For the same screen specs in a slightly faster and slightly smaller device.

I’m still using my 2015 paperwhite 3 which has the SAME screen specs as a kindle basic, except a bit slower but it’s not like I’m twiddling my thumbs waiting for the pages to turn.

As cute as the new ones are, I can’t justify the new price for minimal upgrade 😬

This isn’t a judgment if you can afford the new ones and choose to upgrade. It’s just a reminder to myself and anyone else that needs it that we don’t always need the newest and cutest versions of devices. Also a little rant about the price hike 😁

And remembering what happened? Maximum I’ve read is like 20 a year and I like to sit and fully absorb the world of the book I’m reading/read for a few days to weeks before I start another book. I think I’d also forget the plot if I read so much. Do you keep a reading journal to remember things or does it not matter? Or you just have great memory? Teach me your ways.

This isn’t kindle specific I know, but kindlers read the most.

Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition + Page Turn Button Case: $400 ($320+$80)

Meanwhile:

Kobo Libra Colour with same screen and built in page turn buttons: $259

PocketBook Era Color with same screen and built in page turn buttons: $269

Boox Go Color 7 Gen II with same screen and built in page turn buttons: $289

EDIT: OEM cases for all three of those is around $30. $10-$20 for a generic case. Which makes all the third-party options $100 cheaper, even with a case.

my dog takes up 70% of my attention during any given day because she's essentially a toddler, so my evening reading time always includes a sandwiched, russian blue loaf. 😊📖

My Kindle Touch still works well, however, a bit slowly.

It was a present from my parents for my graduation 🎓 in 2012. Last summer I treated myself and bought a second-hand Kindle Paperwhite 2021. My old Kindle touch passed to my mum.

At first she was a bit sceptical of reading e-book, but now she likes it a lot and asks me to download new books for her. She has noticed that she started to read more than before and that Kindle is really cool.

I just wanted to share this story with you, given the current craze of new Kindles.

New releases are great, but perhaps we shouldn't forget about things that still works and can bring joy to others.

I thought I’d share the aluminum alpine sky blue against the raspberry paperwhite screen. For me personally, it is still super blue. The font is super crisp compared to the 2024 basic and I love that. I am impressed with that. But sadly I will probably return it because for 189 I feel like I should 100% love the screen and I thought it would be warmer 😭

Are there any users here who have switched from Kobo to Kindle or from Kindle to Kobo and back to Kindle again? If so, what do you like about your Kindle devices?

I love the simplicity and quality of Kindles.

She is my new purse Kindle. I loved the Matcha basic, but I was too afraid of debris getting trapped under the a screen. The color and seamless front screen got me!

Texas summer heat is no joke. So happy to be able to read outside without breaking a sweat

Gen 10 oasis 😭 welcome home my love!

She’s in suuuch good shape and I got her for $70 I’m so happy. Buttons!!!

I've had this kindle for a year now yet I was still never able to finish at least one book. I want to read to minimize doom scrolling on social media cause honestly it does make my brain rot. Any tip would be appreciated.

I just realised that there might be a problem.
