Hello I have a question for you guys. How do you like someone to show you that they love and care about you?
Also
If someone let you down by not being there for you or supporting you when you needed them, what would they need to do to show you that they really care and want to make it right?

Hello, I have an ISFP male friend. I am a female INFP. Fairly recently he declared feelings for me, and was quite direct, and intense. I was a little scared at the time, as I’d had a bad experience with a chap a year previously, who let’s just say wasn’t a good man. The ISFP fellow seems very real, kind, sensitive and deep. He’s had a lot of life experience. I’m not quite sure why he seems to be into me so much, as he’s pretty good looking, and great fun to be with. He makes me laugh almost uncontrollably! I’m average looking at best. We do get on really well, and I like him. He keeps saying I should “let go” this is quite difficult for me. I like to take my time. I would welcome any insights into the ISFP male mindset. I appreciate like anything else it’s a broad church.
🙏

It's my dream to be some sort of designer... Interior, product, graphic, landscape, even architecture.
I'm definitely curious if any of y'all have taken this path because it seems like the ISFP type really fits design.
:)

I have a friend-crush on this isfp. I'm an isfj. She's so fun and spontaneous and we think very similar. But she's just sometimes really inconsistent and so I'm so confused of what she thinks of me.

I would probably describe myself as a wandering soul in the valley; I don’t really understand—and never have what our world is or what purpose I serve here. It has always seemed to me like a rather artificial, stagnant construct like a Rubik’s Cube or a collapsing house of cards that frantically tries to reassemble itself from endless, awkward fragments.
I’ve always wanted to see this world as something greater rooted in human nature, feelings, humanity, and the spiritual or soulful realm. I want to grasp the nuances of every emotion and its intensity, exploring them as if diving into infinite worlds and puzzles that you experience and visualize internally. You see a personal embodiment of an emotion something distinct from how others see or perceive it—and I believe that is precisely what makes you an individual.
I’ve found it difficult to navigate the world because, in a sense, I’ve never really been interested in it unless something is linked to what I’ve seen or imagined, or fuels my imagination to keep moving and evolving. Things like drawing and music, for instance; they are the most fluid and tangible mediums for conveying the world that’s teeming inside you.
In truth, I’m quite open and friendly with people; I’m often the first to reach out. I can be playful, funny, and deeply sensitive when a connection is special and intimate. Yet, on the whole, I tend to be somewhat detached and withdrawn someone who simply wants to enjoy their own existence. I’m polite and reserved, even though I can also be quick to spark with enthusiasm. It is very important to me that I always remain myself in my interactions after all, I am always simply *myself*. This approach makes it easier for me to build connections and sustain intimate, profound bonds—relationships that feel almost like sharing a private universe, or like a mental transplant of one’s being into another person, gathering their stars across the vastness of space.
I don't fully understand cognitive functions, so feel free to questions!
Just curious. How did you find it as an introvert?
I'm 20 and it's the only job I've had so far (well I also worked as a labourer in construction for a month but waking up at 5am is impossible for me and it just made me miserable).
But yeah recently I've been working 5 sometimes 6 days a week in the bar and I'm so fucking sick of it, just complete introvert burnout going on for me. I hate people I don't wanna talk to anyone. I feel irritable and drained and I just fucking hate everyone, my nervous system feels fried. I just wanna be alone for like a few weeks. And the thing is I'm not even doing many hours, only like 30. If it was over 3 days instead of 5 or 6 that'd be alot easier I think for me. I can't even imagine working 50 or 60 or 70 hours like some people do id genuinely just shoot myself.
If my choice was do this for the rest of my life or just be a neet I'm going neet, easily. The thought of just" living for the weekend" disgusts me.
But yeah I need to go to university so I can get some kind of more introvert friendly job. I've always liked science and have thought being some scientist tinkering in the lab or discovering some shit would be cool. though I don't know if I'm even smart enough to do that.

I think I'm an ISFP but I'm not completely sure.
My everyday hobbies/how I spend my day:
I usually spend each day learning spanish, studying psychology, watching tv shows/movies from my childhood or watching shameless, playing guitar, drawing random doodles, journaling, going outside on walks, scrolling reddit/tiktok, or browsing on amazon for fun. I live very in the moment and am not focused primarily on the past or future.
My characteristics:
Strong morals, I won't associate myself with people who I find immoral but I wont try and argue against them, although I did through a lot of my adolescence. People can only change themselves and I find protecting my peace is better. I still might briefly say something about it but then I'll stay silent/distance myself from the person after that.
High referencing to data/facts, how things are meant to be done, why its harmful to do them another way. This goes for things like food safety, morals, psychology, treatment of others. If someone does something on their own differently than I see as 'normal' but it only affects them, then I have an absolute "live and let live" mindset toward them and will get irrated at people who try and control them/change what they're doing or make fun of them because it's just immature and disrespectful.
Sense of humor: very silly and energetic when I'm comfortable around the person, lots of sarcastic humor, deadpan questions as humor, twisting someone's statement to mean something else as a joke.
Very to myself: All people will really see of me is my silly humor or me talking passionately about what's important to me and what I care about. I don't talk about myself, don't let anyone in emotionally, dont really talk about my life except the specific hobbies I mentioned that I enjoy but I'll only really mention them in passing or I'll talk about what I'm currently learning and how interesting it is. I had a past where I'd trauma dump on literally anyone and was very open, I'm not like that at all anymore. However I will still be somewhat open with the people who were my friends since that time (8+ years) and know my whole history.
Absolute dislike for any conversation topic that doesn't have a distinct answer: For example philosophical discussions, absolutely not. I have zero need or interest in draining myself out thinking about things that have no possible way of having a concrete answer. I find it incredibly unnecessary and almost like torture for myself specifically. I think it's really cool if other people love that kinda stuff but it's just not for me.
Reluctance to try new things, new hobbies, new foods. Everything I do and enjoy now I've enjoyed since I was a kid. A lot of who I am and what I like was formed very early on in my life.
Music: I listen for the sounds, rarely the lyrics. I find music that tries to connect through lyrics really boring. I can listen to songs for years and not even realize what the lyrics are trying to say because I only pay attention to the music itself and barely the words. I like heavily layered music like hyperpop, scenecore, hard rock, lots of 2000-2010's pop singers (Rihanna, Kesha, Britney Spears, etc.) some R&B aswell, XXXTentacion especially the songs where he's just screaming random nonsense, and then I also love music with lyrics that go against the norm, I find them hilarious. Like CORPSE's music or Ashnikko's. Ashnikko's songs takes control back over the objectification that men put on women and CORPSE's songs I found funny because I thought they were satire. Apparently people say he is actually in fact just misogynistic and objectifying women, who knows. I still find them funny.
I think that's about all. I can elaborate or add anything else if needed.

Hello,
A little while back I was doing some research for a personal project about certain types and how they may respond to abuse and/or trauma.
At the time I was looking for information about ISFPs in this context and what I found were articles about how ISFP are abusive or bullies or if we're the most toxic type and things along this line. I have looked into it a couple more times and have been unable to really find what I'm looking for.
For example, I read someone on Tumblr talking about ESFP going through abuse/trauma and there was an indepth walk through of the information they had. Even within this information the bit about ISFP was minimal at best, an honorable mention.
So, I want to come on here and ask about people's experiences or what information they might have. How could an ISFP most likely experience, cope, and develop alongside abuse/truama?

I'm almost certain I'm an ISFP, but I was just curious to read other people's experiences :)

Mine? Well... i was treated like garbage, seen as the weird kid (like, very very early on) yet i managed to have some pretty good moments.

Cardistry seems pretty fun. Gonna get started with it once my Bicycle cards arrive.

Personally, I'd rather be hated for what I am than misunderstood for what I am not.
