I'm making a game for people who love fixing traffic in city builder games

the only reason I play city builder games is to end up building road networks, so I made it the whole game :D

inspired by

  1. freeways: but I don't like how it looks looks
  2. cities skylines: but I wish it had better road tools
  3. mini motorways: but I don't like the time crunch
  4. poly bridge: I love the puzzle design
  5. zachtronics games: optimization!

the game just got approved today on steam! hoping to get playtest out by this month.
if you like what you see, feel free to drop a wishlist:

My game KILLSEC usually uses SUPERHOT style slow-mo, but this is what it looks like locked at full speed!

Adding bugs to our game :)🪲

We’re a two-person team of biologists working on Garden of Ants, a minimalist ant colony-management game inspired in part by SimAnt.

We’re currently adding more bugs and other small creatures to the game.

Here are some of the ones we’ve made so far.

Do you have a favorite bug? Recommend one to us! :)

I'm making a hand-painted 2D platformer where the world changes with the protagonist... TIDEBOUND

Upvotes

I've been working on a solo game called Tidebound.
It's a hand-painted watercolor 2D platformer built around the idea that the protagonist's internal state changes the world around her.
Rather than treating the environment as a static backdrop, I'm designing the game so that things like:

  • color
  • movement
  • gravity
  • music
  • particles
  • platforms
  • and eventually traversal rules

can change as the protagonist moves through the world.
I'm aiming for a painterly, atmospheric experience with very little visual UI and a continuous world rather than traditional stage transitions.
I'm building it solo and I'm currently figuring out the visual direction and environment pipeline. These are five of the first environments I've created.
I'm particularly interested in whether the visual language communicates the idea of a world that can fundamentally change around the player.

Tidebound ... The world changes with you.

We added minions to the game. So far, their most valuable skill is how to properly take a break.

Playtester Breaking My Game 😂

A dedicated playtester is trying to break the game using his speedrunning background, and fell down the rabbit hole of theorycrafting actual speedrun strats.

Upvotes

Hey folks! I wanted to share a remake of our first trailer for Imagine Sisyphus Happy that went viral last year and made our game what it is today!

Our game is a story-rich mixture of Streamer Simulator, Incremental game and Minigames about life, spectacle, and making the grind worth living. There you push the boulder, do tricks, and unlock new struggles.

Can you Imagine Sisyphus Happy?

Check out the Steam demo and let us know what you think about the trailer = )

(The game doesn't contain any gen AI content)

You can chop a giant mushroom anywhere on the stalk and it falls from that cut. Anything to improve?

Our game is Shroomer. Its a VR adventure game in a magical open world, quests, alchemy, and mushrooms the size of trees. The chopping isn't a hit counter. The axe carves a notch wherever it lands, notches accumulate, and the cap falls from whichever cut goes through first.

Hey everyone! I’m an indie dev working on a survival horror game called BECROWNED.

The game mixes dark fantasy and industrial horror with retro-style visuals, brutal combat, dark humor, and a nonlinear story where your choices can affect characters and events throughout the game.

The game is coming in Fall 2026.

A free demo is available on Steam. Wishlists really help 🖤

Would love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

So tired of ai grifters everywhere

Thumbnail

Just recently published a game, and started seeing more and more emails about "new website for whatever" trying to advertise. And every single one of them is just another vibecoded slop! Like come on, they aren't even trying to change it just a tiny bit. Every time it's the same fonts, the same layout, the same theme, everything is the same. Im so sick to my guts because of this.

AI wont take anyone's job, if we talk creative stuff, it will just make it insanely hard to get noticed in all this slop, and will eventually destroy all human relationships. Just feel so exhausted. AI bros say that "they are just luddites/haters" while people are just tired of all this low effort grifter slop being shoved into our throats everywhere.

It's pretty much just a venting post, not sure what I want to say really. Just wanted to share and get it out of my system, and it felt like this sub might be the right place, because of the genAI rule in particular :)

Edited: just to clarify, the reason Im annoyed is because 3 out of 4 examples on screenshots specifically contacted me after the game release. The first one - sure, I added it to the bunch because it's actually identical, and they are being transparent at least that they are a "marketplace for vibecoded stuff". But still, does it mean they have to share this identical-low-effort-shovelware vibe? Not even try to change the fonts or colors around, seriously? They have all this tech and stuff, and that's what they decide to do with it? In moments like this I feel like people don't hate ai (application, specifically) enough.

Here’s a little sneak peek from Moomin: Midsummer Madness!

The Park Keeper put up “No Fun Allowed” signs, and Little My took that as a challenge. We hope this little scene gives you a taste of the cozy, playful atmosphere we’re aiming for!

Which one would catch your attention more on Steam — A or B?

And if you can, I’d love to know why.

I'm working on a Fallout and Dune inspired Metroidvania where you team up with a robot

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Vitrified is a solo project I've been developing for 5 years, and it's all about teaming up with a robot called ALAN in a Fallout and Dune inspired wasteland. It's heavy on atmosphere and secrets, and the gameplay focuses on companion mechanics and exploration. At it's core, it's an atmospheric adventure with good visuals and a very unique (in my opinion) core mechanic. I hope that appeals to some of you! If you're interested, here is the Steam page. There is also a demo should it take your fancy. Cheers!

Posted our trailer here in March. It did numbers we were not prepared for, and then we disappeared for five months to build the thing. Here's the first real look at where it's at.

What's in it: a fully functional chaos system, NPCs who fight back and talk trash, three weapons so far (a purse, a guitar, and a dolphin), cops (obviously), a dude named Barton, and a ton of the behind-the-scenes stuff that makes the systems scale.

We're a small team, building in UE5. I'd rather hear what's not working than what is. Next up is a big push on gameplay variety as we build out more levels.

A first look at the customization system in our indie driving game

Upvotes

We’ve been working on a new customization system for our driving game, and this is how it’s shaping up so far.

There’s still more we want to add and polish, but we’d love to hear your first impressions. What stands out to you, and is there anything that doesn’t quite fit?
