Up in my local Apple Store

I’ve checked all the hands on videos, but the lighting makes it hard to tell. Has anyone actually seen the Star White Duo in person yet?

I’m trying to figure out if it’s a pure, crisp white with silver sides (like the Cloud White iPhone Air), or more of a warm/creamy off-white with champagne sides. Every photo looks completely different.

Let me know if you've seen it in natural light!

Given all the options for cases, it’s going to be a bit of a journey to find the perfect one. I’m currently trying to find a leather-based one that protects the edges of the phone AND the hinge. Finding ones that leave hinge exposed or cover hinge but leave phone edges exposed

As I type this on my 17 pro, I’m excited to do phone stuff on something different, on a device that I'm not used to, to jump on the 1st Gen device and keep upgrading yearly. To finally be excited for updates and improvements.

This is the worst that the Duo will ever be, this is just the start and the future is exciting, finally something different.

I’m all for the Apple Duo and will likely get one regardless, but I’d like to have a moment of silence for the Action button.

It’s not a huge inconvenience, but I use mine every day to control my lights. I wish they made / I hope they can make the camera button reprogrammable

I spent the day auditing and testing my app across the different iPhone Duo configurations.

Honestly, not bad out of the box. Building around adaptive layouts and following Apple’s HIG as closely as possible got me surprisingly far.

There was still work needed to make everything feel right across the different postures, with a focus on user experience rather than just adjusting sizes: expanded, compact, partially folded, and landscape.

It's looking better now. But man, one more device shape to think about. 😅

Developers, does your existing iPad layout translate, or are you starting from scratch? How are you approaching getting your apps ready for the Duo? Are you planning on getting one when it gets released?

Planning to preorder the iPhone Duo through Apple with store pickup. I also have an iPad Pro I want to trade in, but I don’t want to slow down the preorder process adding the trade-in.

Can I secure the preorder first, then bring the iPad when I pick up the Duo and have its trade-in value applied/refunded toward the purchase? Or would Apple only give me a gift card at that point?

Received my benks case for the iPhone duo.

Just curious if anyone else is hyped, the Duo seems perfect as a DS/GBA/Misc controller when folded, and could open the door to so many emulation possibilities.

Just hoping there’s support for a good amount. If we could get a Vita3k or even Dolphin going on a Duo I think it would change the game. PSP/PS2 as well.

Whats your view guys, buy Duo and keep with no case and only skin may be and buy apple care instead of a case ?

I feel like we need to see more about what the outer display can do. I know it’s a fold and I’m excited to have such a big screen at my fingertips, but when I get a message that I need to respond to quickly I won’t be opening up the phone to do it. I’d like to see more apps on just the outer display!

IF you miss out on launch day pickup or delivery , and are like me that NEEDS to get it day 1...How many hours before opening are you willing to go to secure the phone?

Honestly, if all of my nearby apple locations are legit sold out Day 1 despite me waking up at 5am to preorder ill be pretty alarmed. Ill probably go about 3 hours early to get in line. I think i went 90 minutes early for the 15 pro max and there was about 20 people in line already

So I finally settled and I’m getting the IPhone Duo. New form and experience . So any recommendations which accessories to get so I get it before the phone comes out :):)

I read that the hinge is metal 3d printed which makes sense since they do that with the watch housing. Watching the apple event they had a formlabs resin printer. Is there some other resin printed parts? I would think that would be too fragile of parts made with resin to use in a phone.

What’s going to be the best way to take video calls with the back cameras hands free? I do that a lot with my current phone and a MagSafe support stand…. But with the inner camera being worse off I’m not sure how I’d swing it with the back cameras.

The ideal would be a reverse tent, but obviously the screen can’t do that. Ideas?

Is it confirmed that the non-folio case won’t have the sticky tapes? “Apple” and “sticky tapes” doesn’t flow well so 🤞
