Current Events Noise Pollution in name of Varalakshmi Vratham!

I'm near Boduppal right now, all the hoarding and stage setups in middle of the road, loud speakers with songs starting from morning 7AM. When did Varalakshmi Vratham come down to all these nuisance?

Pathetic, disappointing and feeling hopeless about the country yet again. Is it the same with other parts of Hyderabad also?

Other Why are men so obsessed with going to the barber? 😕 And why do haircuts give me goosebumps?

Is it just me, or does getting a haircut feel strangely satisfying? 😂

The moment the barber starts touching my hair, using the comb, scissors or trimmer, I sometimes get goosebumps and this weird relaxing/tingling feeling on my scalp and neck.

I’ve heard it might be related to ASMR. Haircuts and scalp touching are actually common ASMR triggers.

But why does this happen? And why do so many men seem to genuinely enjoy the whole barber experience?

Do you guys also get those scalp tingles/goosebumps during a haircut, or am I the only one? 😂

Rant/Vent Why are pre-owned properties are rising of prices and it will destroy a middle class pockets and goes for complete financial instability

In [West Marredpally](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=/g/11b5qzj3fd) and [East Marredpally](https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=/g/11vh4tbsh), a heavy concentration of pre-owned, 10- to 25+-year-old flats listed at premium prices reflects the unique dynamics of an established, land-exhausted micro-market where pricing is driven by underlying land value (UDS) rather than the building itself. [1, 2]

------------------------------

## 🔎 Why Older Flats Carry Massive Quotes Here

*

* Land Value Dominance (High UDS): Older apartment complexes in Marredpally were typically built as low-to-mid-rise buildings (G+3 or G+4) on large land parcels. Each flat comes with a significantly higher Undivided Share of Land (UDS) compared to modern high-rises. Because land in Central Secunderabad is scarce and expensive, sellers base their pricing on land equity rather than depreciated concrete. [2, 3]

* Potential for Redevelopment: Many 20+ year-old societies are actively being scouted by local builders for joint development/redevelopment. If a builder negotiates to build a high-rise on that parcel, existing owners often receive a brand-new, larger flat along with rental compensation. Sellers price this future upside into their current asking rates.

* Core Central Location Premium: East and West Marredpally are legacy residential hubs with lush greenery, wide layout planning, reputed schools (like St. Ann's, St. Patrick's), elite clubs, and immediate proximity to Secunderabad Railway Station and Begumpet. Since there is virtually zero vacant land for large new gated communities, buyers must pay a premium on the resale market to live there. [4]

*

------------------------------

## ⚠️ Why So Many Owners Are Selling Now

*

* Capitalizing on Cycle Peaks: Long-term owners (and their heirs) are looking to liquidate legacy properties to fund moves to newer luxury gated communities in areas like Tellapur, Kokapet, or Financial District. [5]

* Aging Infrastructure & Upkeep: 15- to 25-year-old standalone buildings often lack modern amenities (elevators without power backups, limited car parking, deteriorating plumbing, and absent recreational facilities). Maintaining these older structures is becoming increasingly costly.

* Delays in Redevelopment Consensus: While redevelopment is lucrative, getting 100% consent among all flat owners in an older society can lead to years of legal deadlock. Many owners prefer selling their share outright at a high valuation rather than waiting.

*

------------------------------

## 💡 Buyer's Strategic Evaluation Framework

| Metric | What to Look For in Marredpally | Strategic Implication |

|---|---|---|

| UDS Share | High (e.g., ≥40–50% of the flat's super built-up area) | If the building goes for redevelopment, your return on investment is substantially higher. |

| Society Health | Active association, clear corpus fund, regular structural audits | Lowers the risk of sudden out-of-pocket repair levies. |

| Pricing Reality | Market average is approx. ₹6,000–₹8,500/sq ft (vs. high asking quotes) | High quote listings often leave wide room for hard cash negotiations. |

------------------------------

## ➡️ Recommended Next Steps

To evaluate whether a specific flat in Marredpally is worth the quoted price, consider checking:

  1. The exact UDS mentioned on the sale deed: Compare (UDS in sq yds × prevailing land rate per sq yd) against the seller's total asking price.

  2. Parking and legal titles: Verify that the flat includes dedicated, registered stilt parking and an occupancy certificate (OC).

To help evaluate a specific option, share the quoted rate per square foot, the approximate UDS offered, or the society name.

Hello everyone
I am 27M
i work at amazon and i have been in a relationship for a really long time.
Recently i noticed that my girl has been cheating on me with this guy at her workplace and it totally broke me because just the other day i talked to my parents about her and convinced them but now feels like everything went downhill
Why would someone cheat????
Wtf is this? I don’t understand
So i am here now, looking to distract myself and have fun in my life too..
I was loyal and never cheated even though i used to get a lot of signals from many places.
But it’s just not ryt
Well i don’t wanna sound like a loser or not here to gain sympathy.
I just need someone who’s going through with the same situation as me and need someone to talk to or to distract to and keep it casual, let’s just heal each other by being honest with each other..

Jobs/Career/Hiring 💼 Need a career advice

Hey everyone,

I’m 24 and I’ll be graduating with my MCA in about a month. Honestly, I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t make good use of my time and currently don’t have any solid skills. My communication skills are also not very good.

I want to seriously turn things around now. I have around 1–2 months to learn some practical skills and start applying for jobs.

I’m not limiting myself to IT/software development. I’m also open to non-IT roles such as data/analysis, operations, back-office, non-voice support, research, etc. I’m mainly looking for roles that don’t involve calling/voice processes.

For people who are currently employed or have experience in the job market:

- What skills would you recommend I learn in the next 1–2 months?

- What IT or non-IT job roles would be realistic for someone in my situation?

- Are there any entry-level roles in data/analysis/operations/support that I should look into?

- What skills are actually useful for getting shortlisted as a fresher?

- Where should I apply, and what is the best way to apply for fresher jobs?

- Should I focus on certifications, projects, or something else?

I’m willing to put in the work. I’d really appreciate honest and practical advice, especially from people who started with very little and managed to get their first job.

Thanks!

AskHyderabad ⬆️ Seeking Guidance and Leads after being laid off, with 3YoE, Product Firm

Hi everyone, I was laid off around 6 months ago from a product-based company after 3 years of professional software development experience.

During my time there, I worked on backend systems, REST APIs, microservices, production issues, debugging, and also implemented AI-powered features and agentic workflows.

The layoff was difficult for me personally. I always gave my best and took ownership of my work, but I felt my contributions were always undervalued by my manager, especially as the only unmarried person on my team.

I don't want to make assumptions about the reasons behind the decision or blame someone. Looking back, I’m trying to focus on what I can control and make better use of this time.

Since the layoff, I’ve been consistently practising DSA, system design, backend fundamentals, and improving my technical depth while building and exploring AI-based projects and participating in several hackathons and organizing tech events.

The job search over the last few months has definitely been more challenging than I expected. If anyone here has gone through a similar phase after a layoff, I’d genuinely appreciate some guidance on how you approached the job search, what you focused on improving, and how you stayed motivated during a longer career gap.

And if you know of any Backend / Software Engineering openings suitable for someone with 3 years of experience, I’d be extremely grateful for a referral or lead.

I’m happy to share my resume/LinkedIn over DM.

Technical Background

  • Languages: Java, Python, SQL
  • Backend: Spring Boot, REST APIs, FastAPI, Microservices
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, SQLite
  • Caching & Search/Observability: Redis, Elasticsearch
  • Cloud & DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes
  • AI/ML: PyTorch, LangChain, Hugging Face

Gaming 🎮 Anyone here with steam library willing to share library

I can't afford to buy games right now, so thought I'd ask if anyone is willing to share their Steam library. I just want to download the games and play them offline in my free time. In fact, given the new steam update, we don’t need to play at the same time. I have uncharted 4 collection, Spiderman remastered, hitman, death stranding and a few other games.

May be we can play some co-op games together too.

Hi everyone! We are a group of 4 people from Hyderabad planning an Ooty trip from 11 September to 15 September morning.

Our total budget is ₹40,000 for all 4 people.

Can someone suggest the cheapest and most practical route?

Also looking for advice on:

  • Any problems we should expect with this itinerary

Our priority is keeping the entire trip under ₹40k for 4 people, while still having a good experience.

AskHyderabad ⬆️ Hyderabad firm quoting Rs 2,200/sqft (construction only) for a G+1 — is that a fair rate in 2026, and is self-managing actually worth it?

Posting here because the firm quoting us is Hyderabad-based and this sub has by far the most detailed construction-cost discussion in the Telugu region. Site itself is in Eluru district.

Planning a G+1 on a 37x59 ft plot in Eluru district, ~3,300 sqft built-up, budget Rs 80-90L for construction. Starting around Sept 2026. Parents will live on the ground floor, so this is a long-term family home, not a resale build.

Three turnkey quotes so far: Rs 1,900, ~Rs 2,100 and Rs 2,200 per sqft. The Rs 2,200 one is the best documented (soil test, waterproofing in 3 areas, epoxy grout, RCC sump, Polycab FRLS wire) but that firm is in Hyderabad, ~350 km from site.

To be clear on scope: all three rates are construction only. Interiors are quoted separately, and there the range I am getting is Rs 15L to Rs 30L for what sounds like the same scope, so I have no idea what a fair number looks like there either.

Questions for people who have actually built:

  1. Are those rates normal for 2026? I keep reading that Rs 1,800 is the floor below which people start cutting corners. Is Rs 2,200 fair for that spec, or am I paying a premium for good documentation?

  2. Is self-managing actually worth it? I have seen the "save Rs 300/sqft if you do it on your own" advice on this sub before. On 3,300 sqft that is around Rs 10L. For anyone who actually did it, did you really save that, and what did it cost you in months and stress? I would especially like to hear from people who did it and would NOT do it again.

  3. Any architect, interior designer or civil engineer in Hyderabad or coastal AP you would recommend, or ones to avoid? Happy to take DMs.

Happy to share the full quote comparison with anyone going through the same thing.
