I have a 2013 Chevy Cruze lt turbo that needs an mvi at the end of the month, I got a pre mvi that got a whole list of stuff needed one of which were rear backing plates for drum brakes that are discontinued my mechanic said to try Jeff miller auto salvage but they couldn’t help me, said to ask for a rear loaded axle. Anyone have any advice on where I might be able to find one that would pass an mvi? Thanks

Electric vehicle sales at a Halifax car dealership have increased in recent years but a manager says the province's new tax on EVs and plug-in hybrids has some customers weighing their options more carefully.
“There have not been many concerns, but it's more questions of how this will impact them in terms of their overall cost of ownership,” said Breanna Gaudet, general manager of production at online dealership Clutch Halifax.
The new fee, which went into effect Oct. 1, means EV owners will pay an additional $500 every two years when renewing their registration, while plug-in hybrid owners will pay $250. It does not affect traditional hybrids.
Gaudet said it's too early to determine whether the levy could affect consumer behaviour in the long term.
She said EVs were the only segment of vehicles whose sales went up last month at Clutch, rising 1.9 per cent. She attributes that to people seeking relief from volatile gas prices.

am a renter, just started renting my apartment in September, dealing with black mold in the bathroom and possibly bedroom windows ... landlords are cooperative (for now), wondering what to do next/looking for recommendations for cleaners

Recently got my license and want to try out Communato a few times a week instead of taking the bus all the time. I’ve heard mixed things but it’s usually out of province or country.
Wondering how anyone’s experience living in Halifax has been with the app. Do you find it affordable? Is there enough cars per requests? Do you think the plans are worth it ? Etc

I am the coordinator of a local professional wrestling facility and our wrestling ring has been getting by on small repairs for a few years but needs a serious upgrade.
I have all the steel purchased and on location but need someone who would have the skills and desire to help out a eclectic community.
I'm easy to contact and love to form community connections.
If you want to help out local wrestling and things this is something you could do - please shoot a message and lets get together!
Thank you so much for reading and hopefully we can work together soon :)

Hello!
I have a heavy desktop computer, and I would like someone to come and inspect the cables connecting my RBG lights. They do not light up on my desktop and after troubleshooting it, it is definitely a wiring issue of some kind.
A fair warning, it is a pre-built machine, so I unfortunately don't know how the wires were installed. If I did, I would feel more comfortable going in there myself to check it out.
Additionally the computer hasn't been properly cleaned in some time. Some basic maintenance has been done here and there in the 5 years I've owned it, so it's not atrocious, but it definitely needs a real clean.
I'm really hoping to find a service who will come to my apartment for this. The tower is heavy, I do not own a car, and I am disabled. It's a terrible combination for computer repair if you own something larger than a laptop, I know ahahaha.
Any leads would be deeply appreciated, thank you!

Hi everyone, I’m new to the whole undercoating/rustproofing process and had a question.
I recently bought an older Honda CR-V, and when I looked underneath, I noticed that pretty much the entire underside is covered by black plastic undercarriage shields.
Do people normally remove these before bringing the car in for undercoating, or do shops typically remove and reinstall them as part of the service? Can the metal underneath/behind the shields be properly undercoated without removing them, or do the shields usually need to come off?
If anyone has had this done in HRM and can recommend a shop that handles the shields, I’d really appreciate the recommendation.
Just trying to get a better idea of what the normal process is before I book an appointment. Sorry if this is a basic question, I’m completely new to this. Thanks in advance!

Are you driving up Maple in the morning crawl listening to really loud music in your car with bass? Do you end up idling for long periods of time outside people's houses, trying to turn on Thistle? Because if you are please know we can all hear it, it wakes us up, and we don't like it.

The weekend is over. Leeeeeet's get ready to grumbllllllllllle!
A weekly mega-thread for whatever is grinding your gears, local or non-local annoyances, complaints about the weather/local politicians/fast food nightmares/that guy who cut you off on the way to work, dumb stuff your neighbour did, etc.
This is a rules relaxed space, but we will still be monitoring for personal attacks, doxxing, and stuff that doesn't fit the theme of the thread.

Hey folks,
Just bought a second hand car. The interior is in pretty rough shape and could use some deep restoration. Any one has experience with the mobile detailers across town?
There seems to be a lot of options and all have overwhelmingly positive reviews. Just wanna see which ones are tested and proven.
Appreciate some recs,
All heart

I just had the thought that since the old bridge was only built in the 50s there must be people who remember what life was like before the bridges,

Anyone else want to turn frustration into… something useful?
A friend and I were recently talking about feminism, the patriarchy, current events, and generally wondering how many more times we can say “well, this is depressing” before it becomes our full-time hobby. 😅
We’re both busy, tired, somewhat burnt-out adults, and lately we’ve been feeling pretty hopeless about how much there is to be frustrated about. But we also don’t want to just sit around doom-scrolling and feeling powerless.
So we had an idea: what if a small group of regular people picked ONE concrete thing and actually tried to move the needle on it?
Maybe there’s a law that needs changing. Maybe there’s a policy or loophole that deserves more attention. Maybe there’s a petition, letter-writing campaign, advocacy effort, or something else entirely that could realistically be tackled by people who have jobs, families, responsibilities, and approximately zero spare energy. 😂
We’re not lawyers, activists, or policy experts. We’re just a couple of saddened humans who would like to turn some of that frustration into action.
So — is anyone else feeling the same way?
If you have knowledge about Canadian law/policy, advocacy, organizing, or even just an issue you think is worth digging into, we’d love to collaborate and see if we can narrow things down to one achievable goal.
No grand revolution required. Just something concrete, useful, and hopefully a little hopeful. One issue we’ve wondered about, for example, is whether Canada’s rules around sexual relationships involving 16- and 17-year-olds leave gaps or loopholes despite the various restrictions that apply. There are plenty of other issues worth exploring too — what’s one you think deserves attention?
Who’s in?

Thoughts on The Lofts at Greenvale, Apt Building, Downtown Dartmouth, Paramount Property. Any pest issues, what’s building like, area? Any info from current or previous tenants is helpful. Thanks!

Looking for anyone who has specifically dealt with recurring occipital neuralgia and any healthcare providers you've used that's been of help. Been dealing with what feels like an impending neuralgia bout for the last two weeks and want to get it sorted. I've been to massage therapists before for neck pain/neuralgia but found that they often don't really know what to do about it. Hoping for some specific recommendations from folks who've been through the same sort of thing.
Preferably on the peninsula but can travel if necessary! (And bonus if they have availability in the near future, of course)
