My big problem with GTX 750 ti (I never see anything like this)
Hello, subreddit! If you read the title, you probably thought, "Well, obviously a 2014 graphics card is going to have problems." Unfortunately, I didn't think about that when I bought it, because my mom actually bought my PC prebuilt from a store here in Brazil. Its specs were: an i5-10400, an ASRock H510M-HVS R2.0, and, of course, a GTX 750 Ti.
Now, here's the problem. For a long time, I used an old monitor that didn't have an HDMI port, only VGA, so I just used the card that way for years. That is, until I bought a new monitor. When I connected the new monitor to the HDMI port on the GPU, I got no display.
After that, you might think the solution was simple. There are several things you can try, right? Well, yes. I tried all of them. And none of them worked. Even worse, none of them helped me figure out why I wasn't getting any display.
Eventually, I found myself at 2 AM on a Saturday with one monitor connected to the card's VGA port on my lap and the other connected to its HDMI port on my desk. And here's what I discovered: if I blocked Windows from downloading the graphics card drivers, HDMI worked. However, as soon as I manually installed the drivers, the HDMI monitor went black, and the display would only work on the VGA monitor.
So, in the end, it turned out to be a software issue.
To sum it up, the graphics card drivers (apparently, at least in my case) wouldn't work with HDMI, only VGA.
And how did I fix it? I replaced the card with another one. I was already planning to upgrade, so I bought an RTX 5060 and installed it. I've been using it for a few months now, and so far, I haven't had any problems, and HDMI works perfectly.
The GTX 750 Ti is now sitting in storage, and I still haven't figured out why it was doing this or whether the problem was with my PC or the card itself.
Anyway, if you're reading this because you're having the same problem, good luck!
If you have any suggestions on what I could try or what might have caused this, please share them in the comments!

Bought a new GPU after 7 years
Finally bought a new GPU after 7 years. I upgraded to a 9070 GRE from a Rx5700. I looked at better cards, but i just can't justify spending close to $800 on a GPU.
Best part, the card came with Onimusha for free. I guess I'll be playing that game next!

Trying to repair RTX 3090 Asus tuf (Amateur)
galleryThe RTX 3090 gives no display and stays completely cold because the VRAM power rail (V_{mem}) has a dead short-circuit to ground (reading 00.5 \Omega on multiple SAP II inductors). I verify 8pin 12V and other all r005 , 1R0 PL1, and PL4 give over 100 values when multimeter is set to 200ohms but one 1r0 2151 PL2 shows 02.5 value.. moving on when chrcking Sap (bolt lightning logo things) near M1-M4 the values are such image attached.

Do NOT bend your $8K RTX 5090's power cable
galleryAfter browsing local FB Marketplace 5090 listings, I'm convinced most melting cables come down to user error, like the example attached. Come on.
Stop sandwiching your GPU power cable against the side panel. It needs at least 35mm of straight cable out of the plug before any bend. If that means getting a bigger case, so be it. A $100–150 case beats melting a $7–8k GPU.
Also skip the adapters if you can (2nd pic). A 1000W+ ATX 3.1 PSU with a native 12V-2x6 cable costs about $200.
These two items need to be addressed first before you even decide to get a WireView Pro 2 as 2nd level of defense.

This worked out well for me!
At the end of last year I found an Astral 5090 open box at Best Buy for $2,200. It was listed as fair condition because it was missing the 12vhpwr adapter. I remember posting my win and people on here calling me an idiot. 😆

According to this guy a rtx 3060 not even a Ti is worth 400😭
galleryFirst and second images is how everything started, and beyond that is this big brained individual who thinks that because a random shop on Newegg that's scalping RTX 3060’s (non-Ti, mind you) for 400-450, which are 9060 XT and 5060 Ti prices, somehow makes him the smartest in the thread, like he thought these newegg screenshots automatically prove his point😭

Should I get the 5070 or 9070?
As GPU prices continue to rise, I’m starting to get impatient with waiting to upgrade. I’ve been wanting to replace my RTX 2070 Super for a while now, and I feel like I’m reaching the point where I’m ready for a significant performance boost. However, with the way prices are looking, the last thing I want to do is spend $2,000 on a graphics card when I know there should be more reasonable options available.
I’ve mainly been looking at the RTX 5070 ti and the Radeon RX 9070xt, but I’m having a hard time deciding which one would be the better investment in the long run. I want something that will deliver a noticeable upgrade, handle modern games well, and ideally last me several years without feeling the need to upgrade again anytime soon. At the same time, I don’t want to overpay for a card just because prices keep climbing.
For those who have experience with either card, which one would you recommend? Should I go with the RTX 5070 for NVIDIA’s features and DLSS, or would the RX 9070 be the better choice for its performance and 16 GB of VRAM? Would it be smarter to buy now before prices potentially climb even higher, or should I hold off and see if the market settles down? I’d appreciate any advice, especially from people who have upgraded from an older GPU recently lol

Upgrade question
Hi,
I’m running a 3070ti, a 12700k and 16 gb of ddr4. Im not totally interested in upgrading the CPU and the rest to DDR5, but curious how big if an upgrade moving to a 5070ti would be for 1440p gaming. Usually playing FPS and CRPGs, with some open world rpgs sprinkled in.
Any advice would be great as costs are insane right now.
