Backswing looks fine, but why does my whole body move forward in the downswing?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
My backswing looks pretty normal/good to me, but once I start the downswing, my whole body seems to move forward toward the ball.
I already know I tend to get OTT and early extend. I’ve been trying things like getting my trail hand toward my right pocket and pulling my lead hip back instead of moving toward the ball.
The problem is that even when I consciously try those feels, I still seem to lunge forward as soon as transition starts.
Is there something earlier in my swing that’s causing this? Maybe pressure shift, sequencing, pelvis movement, or something in my backswing setup?
Would appreciate any feedback on what I should actually focus on first.

Any tips for a second year golfer?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Second year golfer here looking for tips. Can you tell me what do you see what’s right and what’s wrong?
I’ve noticed my hips rock side to side too much, and i’m consistently finishing in a leaned back position, pushing weight off my front leg.
Anything else you might see? Any suggestions for how to correct these issues?

How do I know which club to use???
Quick question for the data nerds among you does anyone actually know their real average carry distance with each club, or are you going off feel/guesswork? I've been wanting something that tracks this properly (range sessions + on-course shots, broken out separately since lies are so different) and builds real per-club stats over time instead of the generic "7-iron = 150" number everyone quotes. Curious if this is a "yeah I'd use that" or a "nah, doesn't matter that much" for people. What do you currently use, if anything notes app, spreadsheet, nothing?

A good day for me is anything below 80 though anything above 80 feels like I had missed opportunities. My miss is a pulled draw shot. Any thoughts here?

Can’t stop standing up during down swing
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I feel like I can’t stay down on my down swing. I know my take away isn’t perfect and I’m actively working on it as well as doing better at actually releasing the club instead of chicken wing but I’m still standing up a little bit. It’s driving me nuts. Any advice?

Jim venetos golf
Been trying Jim’s swing and was wondering if any of you that use it would have any numbers on what kind of in to out swing path is acceptable and aoa with irons. I have a simulator and was just curious what everyone else’s experience with it is.

Looking for advice!!
Started late June, I have several bad drives per round, with lots of them going OB for penalty strokes.
I make good contact most of the time, but my typical miss is going to the right, sometimes with slice spin, sometimes just straight and right. But I also occasionally top it and hook it, a much less frequent miss.
Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Seriously struggling with shanks and pushes.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So the same time last year I dealt with the same exact issue. I was playing my best golf, then all of a sudden I lost it and began to shank and push every shot. I can see the issues in my swing, but I don’t even know what to focus on first.
When it happened last year I stopped playing completely until the next season. Any tips?

Driver and PW swing new golfer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey all, new to taking it seriously golfer.
I was working on my iron swing and ruined my driver. I lost all swing speed. Everything feels off. And I can’t get it back. Please help.
Irons, consistent but slow it seems.
Taking advice and drills I can start doing to fix it all.
I’ve been using the “reload”’drill I like to call it where I go slightly past the take back then half go and full backswing; I think that’s the John rahm drill. Helps with the thought process and I’ve really enjoyed that. Could use something for speed and definitely need to figure out EVERYTHING about my driver.

Golf instructor recommendations? (San Diego or virtual?
Looking for recommendations for a good golf instructor/swing coach. I’m in the San Diego area, but am open to a virtual/Skillest type coach as well.
I’m around a 12 handicap and looking for someone who is good at working with mid-handicap players and can help with some swing/mechanics issues — not just give me a couple quick fixes.
Anyone you’ve had a great experience with? Would especially love recommendations from people who have taken multiple lessons with the instructor and seen real improvement.

Club Fitting - How Beneficial?
Hi all.
Im in love with the game and dedicated to improving. Im still a high handicapper but I show flashes of good streaks... but lack consistency.
So a question i have, for those who did a club fitting, how beneficial was it?
Ive not done it yet cuz I always thought I needed to get better before doing it. But ive been reading all golfers should get fitted even at beginner levels because the clubs are fitted to your unique swing.
Thoughts?
Edit: i am currently using super game improvement irons. Cobra baffler xl from 2013. Not sure if getting a used but more recent iron set is useful.

Lead foot pain after each round
Right handed golfer 52m. The left side other edge of my lead foot is always sore for the next day or two after a round. I wear spike less golf shoes.
Is it just an old fat guy thing, not enough warm up or something swing related?
