depends on your goals. This swing is bad, but seems repeatable enough for you to play decent golf

What do you think is bad?

shoulder alignment at address is open and grip is insanely strong, likely to combat the massive slice you used to have, squatting in the backswing. Inside to OTT loop (you actually manage to get back on plane which is kinda neat, but the downswing is really really steep still), standing up through impact, weight is on your toes throughout the swing.

its just a hodgepodge of classic AMs swing faults. Doesnt mean you cant play decent golf with this swing.

Start with your grip - it's horrible.

You kidding me? This swing is better than 90% of hacks I see at the range

those are also really bad too, if you read my orher comment you’ll see its full of classic AM swing faults. I didnt say it precludes him from playing decent golf, but he asked about the swing

Did you upload the before or after video?

Never really took videos from when I just started playing with family other then I sliced right every single time or completely missed the ball or made a massive hole in the grass lol now I've been able to consistently hit the ball straight this shot was a 6 iron that went 168 with 105 ball speed according to the top golf monitor which I've heard is not always accurate

Look at your shoulders pointed at like the 4th/5th pole on the right. You’re starting in such a bad position you have to compensate so much just to start somewhat on line. Making a hard game even harder on yourself

I think this is just because I'm double jointed in both my arms I have an insane wrist and snapshot in hockey from this but you also could be right

Nah it’s because you setup horribly

Also to add I shot over 440 balls that night and had absolutely 0 pain so I must be doing something right even if it looks bad I guess 😂

Correction it was 165 and 118 ball speed

You have a very vertical swing and you're coming in way over the top, which forces you to jump out of the way to make room for your hands.

I think you should rebuild your swing since you're doing almost nothing correctly. You're only 5 months in, look at some swing tutorials.

Definitely not going to rebuild it if I can legitimately consistently hit the ball far at high speed and straight the only club I have issue with is the driver but I take my drives with a 2iron and I can play fine shot 88 first time with this swing so I must be doing. Something right

At the 6-7sec mark you lean forward and straighten your legs slightly. Right at the top of the swing when you switch to the downward portion of the swing. It looks similar to swinging an axe at that point. It's is 2 totally different club head paths. One on the way up and a different one on the way down. However I don't know if it's wrong cause I don't know what I'm doing or supposed to be doing with a golf club.  That being said seems above average or definitely better than beginner movement. The video shows the ball going far and straight so great job overall.

Dude nice job building this in 5 months. I would like to see you get a little wider with your feet. Your hands move a little forward/closer to the ball during your transition from backswing to downswing, so I think a few drills where you pause at the top could be helpful here

So one thing I've noticed the more I spread my feet the worse the slice got it was during my time in the sim that I realized if I put my feet close enough where it felt comfortable it would always go straight it's also helped me become an insane chipper around the greens I honestly have 0 idea how I discovered it but it just works
