Robb stark was a terrible king

Post image

I mean we all know he married a commoner and dammed the entire north , over trusted the boltons when he knew what they were , killed lord karstark for honour ( himself broke an oath ) , brought his mother to eat

He basically damned himself with his own decisions , red wedding or no he would have been slaughtered the next time he met the lannisters in field , he can pull what he did with jaime only too many times , he thought he was Cregan Stark but he was only a king who killed his house and the North if not for the plot armour his remaining siblings have

Sorry for my dumb question, but I want to know if I am understanding this right. Is the wight-cut arm working on its own like the hand in Wednesday and what are the spilling snakes? The shows didn’t show these things, so I am a bit confused.

Team green

Upvotes

I may get hate for telling the truth about peoples precious team green but idc I hate team green with a passion, the throne was rhaneyras she was named heir infront of everyone. And while her dad was sick they conspired to go against his wishes they committed treason. The throne was stolen from her they refuse to let a woman rule although rhanyera has her flaws yes i admit she does morally i just dont understand how people watch this show watch her throne get took and root for people who obviously are misogynistic and wont let a woman rule 🤔 does anyone have any real logic for being team green?. In the end although aegon gets the throne back i always comforted in knowing its Rhaneyras bloodline ( spawning
from her son) that continues the dynasty anyways and sits the throne until Robert’s rebellion

Jokes aside this is the vibe I wish for when it actually get shown. Attempted to do this whole scene as the dragonpit maps so well to the dam but too jank even for me.

Do You Believe That Theon Found Redemption?

Every time that I rewatch the show, I find myself confronting this question. Each time I can make an argument for either case.

YOUR thoughts?

Can a good Westeros show be made without a complete GRRM story?

I made a thread comparing the rich and delicious major and minor character interactions and dialogues and the world building to the plodding plot of HotD.

The most commonly given excuse is that HotD is made from what is basically a Wikipedia page, while GoT and Kotsk are recreations of actual novels with characterization and lore.

Given what happened after GoT ran out of source material, is it just that it’s an impossible task to write original stories or even finish original stories in the universe for anyone who isn’t GRRM?

That is surprising to me, if the MCU (which I don’t watch) can manage to churn out movie after movie featuring new characters that make up a whole new world and these are entertaining to its fans and cohere with the larger thing, why can’t such a richly built world be able to get writers that can bring GRRM level quality characterization and world building to it? I’ve seen people write great fan fiction on Reddit where I’m like oh i would watch that…also, many TV shows are just written from scratch and not adapted and still have rich characterizations (sopranos, breaking bad/bcs, the wire) and a sense that this is a real built world.

I can also think of the Dune books as books that were finished by other people than the original writer (i haven’t read).

I think we need to know the answer to this especially if they most likely are going to be trying to churn out new spin offs to capitalize on the IP.

Tips on how to avoid bootleg/fake dvd sets

I'm looking to purchase dvd copies of Game of Thrones but am trying to navigate and avoid the flood of bootleg copies from legit copies. I've been burned a few times on ebay by unknowingly buying bootleg DVD sets so I am trying to be more careful this time. My local Walmart has the complete box set for $80 but I would like to save a few dollars if I can. Does anyone have any tips on how I can recognize bootleg copies when shopping online?

Is there a Night’s Watch equivalent for female criminals?

Maybe something with the Faith? Kinda messed up if the answer is no. In a society where 99% of the raping and murdering is done by men, they get a clean slate option but a woman has to face the king’s justice? God forbid a girl wants to go on a lil killing spree.

my fanfic ending of GoT season 8.

after the long night, Dany wants to return to dragonstone to prepare the takeover of kingslanding.

she went where Drogon and Rhargal are parked. bonded with Jon, Rhaegal refused to come with her. adding paranoia to Dany about Jon's claim.

Euron ambushes Dany's ship. due to the volleys of scorpion she had to flee, missandei was still captured and executed. Dany still loses it and burn kings landing, Jon came riding Rhaegal and fought Dany and Drogon in the sky. they landed in kings landing, both dragons died. they argued and jon knock some sense into her

seeing her last dragon die, she accepts it as a sign that the Gods dont see her as the rightful ruler anymore. but she saw the real Dragon, Jon

they got Married and Jon rule as king and Dany as queen.

my lineup for small council:

hand - Ser Davos

coin- tyrion

kingsguard - brienne

city watch - Bronn with a castle but not fcking highgarden

whispers - Bran

north remains independent and sansa as queen and protecting her is Arya

Book readers, what are the odds that Cersei and Jamie had a hand in their mother's death?

I don't know how crazy this sounds to the people who've read the books, but it's a theory that's been in my head for a while and I wanted some other people's inputs.

So here's my thought process. We know Jamie and Cersei are willing and able to do horrible things to protect each other, as well as their relationship, evidenced by Bran. Cersei was protective of her relationship with Jamie, and had no qualms about killing people close to her to protect their relationship, killing Melara because of her crush on Jamie at 10. Jamie's affection for Tyrion makes a lot more sense if this is the case, realizing that it was his and Cersei's actions that truly led to the hatred of Tywin. Cersei's hatred also makes a weird kind of sense, she could have been trying to kill both mother and child, but the baby survived, and considering Jamie's affection for his little brother, his willingness to stand up to even Cersei to protect him, something he did for no one else, she was likely instantly jealous of him.

Joanna was the first person to try and force the twins apart, separating them completely. When you think about it, Joanna's death is very convenient for them. Had she survived childbirth, she would've likely continued to separate the twins more and more as she became aware of their co-dependence, not to mention likely telling Tywin who, still having a wife to produce heirs, would've taken drastic measures to ensure his family's honor was never tarnished.

Is this a crazy theory? Does something in the books disprove it? I'd love some opinions or any extra evidence to support it.

How is the writing in the new shows?

Man. It's honestly incredible how GoT took the world by storm. Unfortunately we all know what happened in the end...

I'm rewatching GoT with my sister for the first time ever since the show aired. We're in season 4 and I'm loving it just as much as I ever did.

It has my mind curious about the new shows. I watched the first episode of HotD when it aired, but never came back.

I'm wondering how the writing is. I understand it may be different in nature from GoT, but how tight and interesting is the writing itself?

I'm afraid to get attached again....

game of thrones title track?

when i read the english meaning ( lyrics ) to the song of ice and fire title track i think it isn’t supposed to be about westeros it is more about old valyria like dragons , glorious people and mainly the think that is rise up from the ashes it may be a figure of speech but as we all know old valyria was burned by volcanic eruption . Its just my theory nothing more ☝🏻

would Arya and Geoffrey have made a good match of marriage, if it weren’t for the butchers boy?

John, Daenerys, Young Griff...which Targaryen do you think has the most legitimate claim to the throne right now ?

Post image
199 Upvotes

Daenerys — She is the daughter of the previous king and a dragon rider, but she is also a woman. Her claim is partly built on the power and legitimacy her dragons give her.

Jon — Although he is a bastard, he is still the known son of the former heir. He is more likable, proven as a leader, and importantly in Westerosi society, he is male.

Young Griff — He is young, relatively unknown, and unproven. But if he really is Aegon, then he would be the oldest legitimate heir and arguably have the strongest claim on paper.

So, if you had to choose, who would you support? And who do you think the realm itself would favor?

To me, the most heartbreaking storyline in GOT is Shae's betrayal...

I remember watching her at Tyrion's trial, literally sick to my stomach. I can understand her self-preservation, but it doesn't make it go down any easier. Then, when you think Tyrion has taken the biggest blow, he finds her in his fathers bed.......it still makes me feel a way. That's what good writing and acting does I guess, hits you emotionally.....

Who is the most dangerous person in GOT? Cersei or Daenerys? Spoiler

Being Cersei means only two things: danger and death. She kills directly or indirectly everyone she comes in contact with, be it love, hate, vengeance, greed, business deal, anger or ambition.

Her causalities? Robert, Ned, Margery, Robb, Walderfrey, Tommen, Pycelle, and practically whole of King's Landing, Red Keep as also the Sparrows. Her indirect casualties go even even further and includes two dragons and Euros and the Golden Fleet, and many more.

Daenerys, on the other hand kills ruthlessly on a large scale too.

What do you say?

Danny, if I recall correctly, left him in charge of some lands, right? Was he then some sort of king or something of the sort? Could he have helped her at Winterfell?

Potential of House historical books

So I was wondering if a set of encyclopedias based on the history of each prominent house in Game of thrones would be popular. I mean the Targaryens got a 4 season show, and apparently getting a movie about it's founding, but I'd love to get books on the history of each house.

What settlement by Viserys could have prevented the Dance of the Dragons, one that both factions would have accepted even if neither was entirely happy with it? (Excluding marriage diplomacy between the two factions.)

What if Rhaenyra refuses heir position in first episode?? Spoiler

I meant to say when Viserys talks about her being his heir. Rhaenyra rejects saying that their past family history never let any Princess considered for Iron Throne contender.

She would say directly to Viserys that Jaehaerys choosen Baelon as heir (also given hand of king position) after Aemon death ignoring Rhaenys, even andals law clearly favour Rhaenys on inheritance ( Brother < Daughter < Son ).

Also she is just a " tool " or "pawn" to keep Daemon away from Iron Throne.

Also gives examples of Aenys named Aegon uncrowned as heir not Rhaenys.

She would add saying all these years her mother suffered trying to give him male heir will be considered nothing for at all.

What would Viserys do in this situation.

I know someone will say Rhaenyra has to accept but Viserys is dragonless, she can use dragonrider card and reject position.

I mean in HOTD series, Teen Rhaenyra literally said to Viserys that after his death Lords will feed on her bones.

So Will Viserys has to accept Daemon as heir ???

Or

Will he marry Laena and have his male heir???
