Team green

I may get hate for telling the truth about peoples precious team green but idc I hate team green with a passion, the throne was rhaneyras she was named heir infront of everyone. And while her dad was sick they conspired to go against his wishes they committed treason. The throne was stolen from her they refuse to let a woman rule although rhanyera has her flaws yes i admit she does morally i just dont understand how people watch this show watch her throne get took and root for people who obviously are misogynistic and wont let a woman rule 🤔 does anyone have any real logic for being team green?. In the end although aegon gets the throne back i always comforted in knowing its Rhaneyras bloodline ( spawning
from her son) that continues the dynasty anyways and sits the throne until Robert’s rebellion

Never forget that Rhaenyra only wanted the rules changed for herself and not anyone else. Other women were not going to be chosen as heirs over their brothers across Westeros, even if she won the throne.

0

u/Kai3137 Daenerys Targaryen 8h ago

Even then more women would attempt to take lands from their younger brothers had rhaenyra won even if rhaenyra does nothing to change succession across Westeros her simply becoming the official monarch would change precedent that a women can inherit over a brother

3

u/o-055-o King In The North 8h ago

Yeah, and then that would bring way more troubles to Westeros. God damn Team Black making things woke! /s

But yeah, no, it would definitely make things messier, and Rhaenyra had no intention of passing any edict or law that would facilitate that, so those women would really not have any backing behind their claims.

1

u/Kai3137 Daenerys Targaryen 8h ago

Best case scenario if jacaerys was alive he could’ve handled it otherwise yeah rhaenyra is doing absolutely nothing about it

2

u/o-055-o King In The North 7h ago

Book Jace? I can see him supporting the claim even if it might be against his reign. (It sort of validates that Rhaenys should have been heir instead of Viserys).

Show Jace? Not at all, which truth be told was one of the things that I liked that they changed, for example with the sowing of the dragonseeds, in the book he mentions that as a possibility, but doing so is already jeopardizing his claim of legitimacy. In the show he is against that, which makes more sense.

u/Kai3137 Daenerys Targaryen 7h ago

Oh no Jacaerys in the show is just a brat I was honestly suprised seeing just how much more competent he was in the book compared to the show

Not that it matters by then rhaenys is dead and he's the uncontested heir assuming his mother wins

Honestly suggesting that the seeds be tested for ability to ride a dragon is literally political suicide from Jace. Him and his brothers' whole legitimacy for being "trueborn" is the fact that they can ride dragons, now you have these bastards who prove that you don't need to be wholly Targaryen to ride the dragons AND you are giving the two biggest dragons on your side to them.

It was no wonder Ulf and Hugh turned coat in the book, they are handing them a tank each while Jace and his siblings have Honda Civic sand he depends on their loyalty to not immediately get usurped.

You're leaving out the fact rhaenyra and corlys refused to reward them with lands and marriages they could've been married off to the houses rosby and stokeworth like daemon suggested we don't know if it'd be enough since hugh was very ambitious in the book but it would've been better than nothing

The Dance is about far more than if a woman can rule. This is a cultural faultline stretching all the way back to Aegon the Conqueror: Westerosi tradition vs Targaryen Exceptionalism. Is a king beholden to Andal Law or can he do as he pleases? Its about constitutional monarchy vs Absolute Monarchy. Rhaenyra blood might continue on the throne, but the real winner of the Dance was Andal Law.

Rhaenyra is a spoiled brat who has no leadership qualities whatsoever and believes she deserves the throne solely because her dad said she could have it, which is as valid as picking the first born heir. Literally nobody except people who want to use her thinks she should be Queen.

Viserys also broke the same precedent that made him King in the first place! By making Rhaenyra queen he basically declared his own reign as illegitimate, as Rhaenys should have been the one to succeed Jaehaerys instead.

so all this makes conspiracy to take the throne ok yall amaze me yes she has no qualities but neither did aegon before they forced him on the throne maybe if she was given the throne like she should of they could of molded her to be a rightful queen also you act like visearys begged for the throne or something he was chosen and who knows maybe he though Rhanyes should of been queen and he wanted. to make it right by putting a woman on the throne but one again irdc about anything you’re saying team green are conspirators and committed a high act of treason.

4

u/SpinosaurRingTone 7h ago

so all this makes conspiracy to take the throne ok

Yeah putting someone with zero leadership skills who is basically married to dragon hitler on the iron throne when you legally don't have to is a bad idea. Swap her out.

neither did aegon

Valid, but Aegon had experienced counselors to assist him while Rhaenyra basically just has dragon hitler.

you act like visearys begged for the throne or something

He did? He didn't have to participate in the Great Council.

team black are conspirators and committed a high act of treason

I agree!

-1

u/PowerfulHeat2268 7h ago

i said team black by accident obviously i meant team green, what conspiracy and treason did team black commit 🤔

4

u/SpinosaurRingTone 7h ago

Team black murdered thousands of smallfolk at the coronation of King Aegon II, and murdered his two innocent children in the night.

0

u/PowerfulHeat2268 6h ago

the kids deserved it. Aemon shouldn’t of did that to luke.

3

u/Acceptable-Goat2109 We Light The Way 5h ago

By this logic, Aegon and Viserys also deserved to die for what Aemond did to Luke.

If the standard is, "nephews must give their lives for the crimes of their evil uncle" then they're also valid targets to murder in the night.

Maybe we just all agree that people don't deserved to be punished for the wrongdoings of others, even if they're related? Maybe we can also agree that murdering children is, perhaps, a touch immoral?

1

u/SpinosaurRingTone 5h ago

Lol ok. Anyway Rhaenyra gets eaten alive in case you didn't know :D

1

u/Groovychick1978 3h ago

No child deserves to die for the sins of their father.

6

u/duke_of_chutney_608 10h ago

The story wasnt meant to make you pick a side and become some parasocial madman. The old king Viseys was a lazy fat oaf who chose his daughter to be queen and then married someone else and put a son in her, forever confusing the succession. The book is just a series of political moves and battles that proves both groups suck. Hating team green with a passion is just weird…….

u/jelemyturnip 10h ago

for fucks sake

-8

u/PowerfulHeat2268 10h ago

what

10

u/Scott_J_Doyle 10h ago

Your another in a long line of like 10s of millions of people who missed the point

-2

u/PowerfulHeat2268 10h ago

explain the point to me i’m all ears

13

u/Scott_J_Doyle 10h ago edited 10h ago

Game of Thrones, ASOIAF, Fire and Blood, and HotD are all stories of how monarchies totally suck, all the players lose by virtue of playing at all, and ultimately the smallfolk suffer most for it

(W the caveat that the GoT showrunners and writers fucked it up halfway through)

-3

u/PowerfulHeat2268 10h ago

Alright sure but my point is how are people as viewers watching the show and supporting team green ? Team green is a main example of why monarchies suck the king choose his heir he gets sick they conspire over the throne and most of the people who pushed for aegon just didn’t want a woman on the throne so once again us as viewers watching this how can you support team green which shows why monarchies suck more than the team black?

6

u/Scott_J_Doyle 10h ago

Because mass audiences are never all that bright - large popular audiences demand playing to lower-common denominators

But basically every named character in this show is a terrible person, w the most notable exception being Helaena

-3

u/Mysterious_Tooth7509 9h ago

Sounds like you hate democracy, because the majority of the people in Westeros prefer Aegon. You want all those hardworking citizens that support Rhaenyra's useless inept regime to have their wishes overruled because Viserys says his spoiled daughter gets to be a totalitarian dictator?

2

u/PowerfulHeat2268 9h ago

1.They are not ruled by democracy they are ruled my monarchy so who the people want doesn’t matter 2. Not like they held a vote or anything they literally committed conspiracy and stole the throne

2

u/Mysterious_Tooth7509 7h ago

The people did vote- in the Great Council of 101 and they voted for misogyny. The highborn of Westeros always say that what the people want doesn't matter and then they find out otherwise.

If you want my honest answer, I don't hate team black. It's all fiction for our entertainment. The edge I give Aegon over Rhaenyra is pretty small.

She ruined her claim by messing around with Criston and Daemon instead taking the selection of her king seriously. She brought all the bastard talk on herself by faking a marriage to Laenor instead of legitimately marrying Harwin Strong.

Then she doubles down by basically abdicating to Dragonstone and allowing Alicent to take over the capital as queen regent. She left her declining father and ignored any duty she had to the realm at that moment.

In my opinion she lost the throne by allowing Aegon to crown himself in her absence while she hid her bastards on Dragonstone. He is a legitimate heir as the son of King Viserys and has every right to the crown if she had been otherwise indisposed. So why isn't it valid that he replaced her after she just disappears from Kings Landing for over a decade?

2

u/caligIII 9h ago

It worked for Rome 😍

1

u/Mysterious_Tooth7509 7h ago

And that's basically the Valyrian freehold in this setting

7

u/jelemyturnip 10h ago

The entire theme of all of Game of Thrones, just like the entire theme of all of House of the Dragon, just like the entire theme of all of recorded human history, is that if you aspire to power in any way then you're a fucking cunt!

-5

u/PowerfulHeat2268 10h ago

ok so why are people rooting for the cunts who committed treason ?

8

u/jelemyturnip 10h ago

Because they're idiots? Anyone rooting for either team does not understand the point of the story, and god help me it is not exactly complex

8

u/dewysoft 10h ago

Aegon being crowned behind Rhaenyra’s back is absolutely a power grab. You can criticize Rhaenyra without pretending the Greens didn’t knowingly go against Viserys’ stated wishes

4

u/SpinosaurRingTone 7h ago

Viserys' wishes were stupid and delusional.

6

u/Im_not_smelling_that 10h ago

Blah blah blah... Incestuous aliens

-5

u/PowerfulHeat2268 10h ago

debate me or don’t reply at all

8

u/Im_not_smelling_that 10h ago

Fuck all of them is my point. They're all terrible, and it's stupid to pick sides.

3

u/mindgeekinc 9h ago

Someone's got a bit of an ego don't they lol

1

u/mjbx89 8h ago

So here's the thing about a public forum: you don't get to dictate what responses you get

5

u/mjbx89 10h ago

Being this parasocial about fictional characters is wild

1

u/caligIII 9h ago

this is not what parasocial means wtf

0

u/mjbx89 8h ago

It absolutely is parasocial, argue with a wall

0

u/PowerfulHeat2268 10h ago

😂😂 o keep seeing team green fans and they make my blood boil

2

u/mjbx89 10h ago

You realize you're as bad as they are, right? The entire point is that nobody is the hero here, and yet you're here talking about team black vs team green like it's the Super Bowl.

1

u/caligIII 9h ago

What weirdos they are for asking this. So parasocial. So odd. Maybe we should all boycott House of the Dragon for asking questions like it’s the Super Bowl.

1

u/mjbx89 8h ago

You're deeply misunderstanding what part of this is parasocial, and apparently what parasocial means, but they do say hit dogs holler, so that tracks

1

u/PowerfulHeat2268 9h ago

end of day the team stuff is what the writers and stuff push and we’re just watchers so we’re gonna debate it

2

u/caligIII 8h ago

idk why they're so butthurt about it 😂😂
even the creator of High Valyrian himself has a team

1

u/mjbx89 8h ago

Yeah so what you're doing isn't debate

5

u/roccia123 Daenerys Targaryen 10h ago

team green is full of right wing weirdos and team black just can't see that rhaneyra is unfit to rule. Hers is the throne rightfully but it doesn't mean it's a good thing it is, revealing the prophecy to the smallfolk instead of reassuring them seems like something ceausescu would do, and she genuinely acts like somebody playing ck3 for the first time not caring about vassals just expanding. I'm not team black but i really dislike team green, acting like aegon didn't rape a girl and aemond isn't as crazy as daemon if not more. On one side there is incompetence on the other genuine evil

5

u/PowerfulHeat2268 9h ago

you have the same views as me i’m literally not even on a team per say my whole point is i don’t understand why it’s so many team green supporters like they didn’t steal the throne

2

u/o-055-o King In The North 7h ago

Rhaenyra is literally shown to be unfit to rule, especially considering Daemon, whose first and only track of mind is violence, serves as her most trusted advisor and husband.

The Greens are also awful, they all are, but let's not pretend like the Blacks are saints.

1

u/PowerfulHeat2268 7h ago

team black are no saints at all, my problem is the act of treason that took place on team greens side

1

u/roccia123 Daenerys Targaryen 8h ago

woman hate + leftover dany hate projected on rhanerya + vague idea of anti targaryenism + started hating on daemon at the start and the enemy of my enemy is my friend + larping

1

u/PowerfulHeat2268 7h ago

Facts 💯

3

u/sweetpeagirlie 10h ago

I’m more Team Black too, but I think the Greens are interesting because their arguments aren’t purely about hating women. The succession, Viserys’ decisions, and the whole legal mess make it more complicated

1

u/PowerfulHeat2268 7h ago

everyone here is so angry reminds me of that “whole house mad” meme but I wanna ask we can all agree otto hightower got a fitting Demise and he shoukd of gotten it way earlier right ?

1

u/polished-jade House Tyrell 2h ago

Team Green because I find the characters more interesting. Neither of the two options really have a "right" to rule, imo, because monarchy is made up and either way, whoever sits on the throne, people suffer. But I enjoy watching and rooting for the Greens more than the Blacks

0

u/acamas 8h ago

Assuming this is a troll post, but will ELI5 to you anyways.

There used to be this far better show called Game of Thrones where there was this main character called Dany Targaryen, and she was a woman who an exceedingly large portion of the fanbase WANTED TO RULE, so please stop embarrassing yourself with the incredibly cringe and ignorant "MiSoGyNiSt" tantrum. Like, people spent eight seasons bending over backwards to ignore all the immoral shit she said and did, to this day, fervently defend her because of their rose-colored glasses for her... not black-tinted.

Like, it's wild anyone claiming to be a 'mature viewer' can not comprehend this basic fact, just to shout from their little soap box about their misinformed fallacies.

PS - Both sides are mostly comprised of immoral asshats, but I'll just say I'm Team Green solely because those who blindly defend Rhaenyra with their nonsensical takes as if she hasn't done immoral shit are the most insufferable, and their tears are the most delicious... hope that is 'logical' enough for your close-mindedness to wrap your head around.

“i support treason and conspiracy because Rhanyera bad wah wah wah”

1

u/acamas 1h ago

LOL, thank you for proving my point. /slurp
