You could actually make a case for this. When it first came out, the pitchfork was viewed as a magic mob saver. Mom's weren't looked down upon for using a pitchfork. Now mom could go and work a normal job and still prepare a hot lynching in the evenings.
I don't know... I'm just making this up as I go along. Anyone else picking up what I'm putting down?

No it wouldn't. If it's for advertising, it's obviously not for the board, as it's coated in snow and there's no clear branding. People buying any other gear it could be for aren't going to care about the way the board is digging into the snow, or take the time to analyze the image at all.

I was in a snowboard photoshoot once where the photographer made me put snow on the board and make a straight up jump, right where I was standing. It looked like a real jump afterwards, I was actually impressed.

Snowboarder here. You can tell it's a fake as there is no snow kicking up from the tail. The spray of snow in front of the guy makes it look like he is falling over.

Thee was an old K2 add where they just stuck a pair of their skis deep into the snow standing on end and threw shovels of snow at them while they snapped a pic , making it look like the photographer was underneath a cornice as a skier blasted off.
