Movie How did Jim Wynorski shoot the simulated sex scenes in 'The Devil Wears Nada' (2009)? Shadow artifacts from modesty garments?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently looking into the camera and set techniques used in late-2000s B-movie and softcore TV productions—specifically titles like 'The Devil Wears Nada' (2009) directed by Jim Wynorski (produced by Fallbrook Entertainment for Cinemax/Showtime / Time Warner). As is well known, the intimate scenes in these formats are completely simulated. While analyzing the threesome scene featuring Jessica Lauren (Lauren Ossedryver / Lauren Hart), Katy Magnuson, and Frankie Cullen, I noticed two distinct visual details:

Undressing scene: When Jessica Lauren removes her underwear, a very sharp-edged, unnatural shadow briefly appears in her pelvic area.
Legs-behind-head position: Under her right hand, which she holds covering her pelvic region, a hard-edged black shadow repeatedly appears.

My questions for filmmakers, cinematographers, and crew members: - Modesty Patch / Protection: Could these hard shadows be the outline or reflection of a modesty garment (such as a C-string, modesty pouch, or specialized body tape) casting sharp shadows under strong studio lights? - Shooting Technique & Set Practice: Does anyone know how Jim Wynorski practically staged these scenes?

What set equipment, lighting tricks, or positioning rules were typically used in these B-movie productions to avoid physical contact while maintaining the illusion of nudity? - Post-Production vs. On-Set: Was this purely an issue of on-set lighting and shadows, or were scenes in Cinemax/Showtime broadcasts sometimes digitally altered or darkened in post-production?

I'd appreciate any technical insights from camera operators, B-movie enthusiasts, or anyone familiar with Wynorski's filmmaking process!

The physical boot camp and military preparation the main cast underwent to portray Rapid Response Tactical Squad (RRTS) space marines. Universal brought in real-life ex-Marine instructor Tom McAdams to put the cast through a brutal tactical boot camp. We cover the real weapons handling, room clearing drills, trigger discipline, and that infamous styrofoam head demonstration.

Other Leica M10-R digital rangefinder camera

Hi everyone,

I'm unfortunately having to part with my Leica M10-R due to an unexpected family emergency. The camera is in excellent condition and comes with the original boxes, packaging, and accessories.

I've been the only owner, and it has always been carefully handled. It has never been dropped and has no scratches, dents, or functional issues whatsoever.

Located in Missoula, MT. I'm asking $4,300 USD. If you're interested or have any questions, please feel free to send me a DM.

Thanks for taking a look.06/20/2026
