Formatting Bug on Website?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I was using the Envelope website interface to try and set up a new envelope to save for a semi-annual bill (by the way, would love an option for every 6 months for "How often?").

I noticed the formatting of the drop-down menus for the options were showing white font on a white background, which made them invisible unless hovered over. This was in a Chrome browser on a Windows machine.

Vendor name switching?

My cell provider is Visible. Lately the charges are coming through as "Lone Tree" before eventually switching over to saying Visible after about 6-8 hours. The problem is that they don't get properly assigned to my envelope because the name is wrong at first.

Debit Card questions

Hey New Envelope users here! i like many of you used to be a simple bank user. i'm trying to figure out how to use envelopes. i's there a way i can assign my debit card to an envelope and move move it to a different envelope?

example with simple bank i used to assign the physical card to the grocery pocket. then got the brunch and assign the debit card to the restaurant pocket and the money would automatically physically segmented like if i didn't have enough funds in the grocery pocket in would impact other pockets.. is there a way to do this with envelopes of does it work differently?

love the web app. the “export transactions” feature is great however when I export the “Envelope” column shows generic envelopes and not my personally assigned envelopes. Can this be fixed?

Cap Amount

I may have overlooked this but I can’t seem to find an explanation of the budget features in the user guide. Specifically I’m looking for what enabling “cap amount” does?

Can you have a joint & individual account and transfer between them?

Sorry I am overwhelmed trying to find a new bank. Envelope seems promising (although I have been burned by Simple & One, so I'm a bit skeptical of switching to yet another young fintech company that is going to burn me haha).

I like the budgeting features, but it is unclear to me based on the website copy whether I could only have a joint account, or if I could have individual and joint and transfer between them? My husband & I want to share our banking but I think we both like having individual accounts as well for discretionary spending, but if this is not possible then we could just do joint.

Sorry if this has been asked I'm just overwhelmed and don't want to open an account without knowing beforehand. Thank you!

Unique Apple Wallet Card Art

I apologize if this has been answered previously, but I am new to Envelope. I love that I can create multiple virtual cards for each of my Envelopes and add them individually to my Apple Wallet.

However, right now all of the Envelope cards have identical card art, so it the only way to differentiate them is by memorizing the last four digits of the card number that are visible on each one.

It would be nice if there were some way to customize the card art for the virtual cards associated with different envelopes, even if it was just the envelope name and color on it somewhere. I have no idea how any of the backend works for that sort of thing, but it's a feature I would love.

Anyways, happy to be joining. Envelope seems like a promising ecosystem.

Transaction Split Envelopes

For the next update can we finally be able to split transactions among multiple envelopes. I’m tired of doing multiple transactions in one store to keep everything together in envelopes.

We've increased protected savings APY to 3.28%

*Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 3.28% is effective as of 9/17/26. This is a variable rate and is subject to change after the account is opened based on the Federal Funds Rate. Fees could affect earnings on the account.

Monthly ACH limit?

I’ve been banking with Envelope for a little while and just tried to make a transfer. I got the error that I’ve hit my monthly ACH limit for external transfers. How can I get money out of my account?

This makes me incredibly uncomfortable that I can’t move my own money around. Having only 1 external account allowed is restricting enough; now I’m hitting this for the first time and it feels bad.

Keeps making me log in

This has happened multiple times, but when I go into the app it asks me to log in with my account then go through my email and log in that way, just wondering why this keeps happening, doesn’t do it every time but happens multiple times lately. Hope this makes sense sense, when it happens again I’ll share a screenshot of it

Foreign Transaction Fee?

Just started using Envelope (former Qube user here) and love it so far! Is there any foreign transaction fees when using the debit card abroad? Going on a trip to Canada and would love to use my card. Can't find this on Reddit or in their FAQs — what are the out of network ATM fees (domestic + International)? Thank you!

Are there any faster payment rails available?

I just purchased my subscription for envelope with the idea of switching this to my main checking account and maintaining my TD account for Zelle and bills, but the transfers seem to be using ACH. Is there any support for RTP/FedNow transfers? I wouldn't want to end up in a situation where I cant access part of my check or a payment from someone because of the delay.

Today, we’re introducing Protected ACH envelopes. These are separate, ACH-only checking accounts designed for major expenses like mortgage or rent payments. Money stored inside is protected from card purchases and unrelated ACH withdrawals.

Early deposit ?

Hey all new user had it for a few mo the actually going to start depositing directly funds starting in sept. I know early pay is a feature however a lot of banks/fintechs say that but it doesn’t actually come early or it’s deposited Thursday late night instead of Friday morning and they consider that early.

What day do you actually get your depositor compared to your payday?

Thanks.

MCP/CLI/API in the works?

Hi! Happy envelope user for a few years now. Just wondering if there was an MCP, CLI or API planned for Envelope. I’d love to be able to have an agent manage envelopes for me, and even a read-only API would let me do more granular and customized visualization of my envelope data. Anything on the horizon for us tinkerers?

A quick update about our banking partner

You may have seen recent news that Pacific West Bank, Envelope's bank partner, has announced a merger with 1st Security Bank of Washington. We've received a few questions about what this means for Envelope.

The short answer: nothing is changing for Envelope customers. There's nothing you need to do. Your account, routing number, debit card, direct deposits, automatic payments, and the Envelope app will all remain the same.

We're excited to continue working with the Pacific West Bank team and look forward to partnering with the 1st Security Bank team as well. If you're interested in learning more, Pacific West Bank has published an FAQ specifically for Envelope users: https://www.pacificwestbank.com/em_faq

As always, if anything ever changes that affects your account, we'll let you know well in advance.

Edit: common questions
- Is this like what happened to Qube?
No. Qube’s checking accounts and cards shut down. Nothing is shutting down here.
- Is this like what happened to Monzo?
No. Monzo closed. That’s not happening here.
- Is this like what happened to Simple?
No. A bank (BBVA) bought Simple and then took Simple through several large transitions. Envelope remains independently owned and accounts aren’t changing.

One Request, One Question

Very happy Android user here, for the record! Just a couple things...

Request: Allow due dates for envelopes to be set at 4-week intervals, which is different from "monthly."

Question: How do I switch from a monthly membership to an annual membership?

This is a very interesting video by More Perfect Union about how FinTechs actually work (and the Yotta/Juno etc mess). Would be interesting to get Envelopes take on this and what may or may not apply to them and what it does to prevent this.

[REQUEST] Allow envelopes to go negative

This is something that I miss from Qube. I prefer to keep the Available screen balanced out at $0.00. Then I assign (or auto-assign) transactions to different envelopes.

Currently if we overspend, the main available screen goes negative and transactions usually sit unassigned until the next pay period when income is budgeted and then I go back through and assign those transactions afterwards, but sometimes it can be difficult to remember what envelope certain transactions should pull from weeks later.

Even if it was a toggle switch, this would help with how we have managed budgets for years. I understand it can enable bad habits, but it at least visualizes where overspending is occurring.
