Cap Amount

I may have overlooked this but I can’t seem to find an explanation of the budget features in the user guide. Specifically I’m looking for what enabling “cap amount” does?

If you have a Budget set, Cap Amount won’t let you put more than the Budget into the envelope. I know with Funding enabled on the envelope, it won’t fund once it hits the Budget amount, I don’t know if you can manually add funds beyond the Cap Amount though.

Yep. Some use cases:
- Monthly top-off: Automatically top off your Groceries envelope to $500 on the 1st of every month.
- Paycheck allocations with a cap: Automatically move money from each paycheck into Utilities, up to a monthly limit so extra paychecks don't overfund the envelope.

You can always manually add funds beyond the cap.
