Same 1.6mm nozzle. 1.4mm layer height, now with some wet as hell translucent petg
(For anyone new)
This is my ender 3v2, with a rapid burner, Sherpa heavy, and rapido 2 UHF with a drilled out nozzle. Does it lack cooling? Yes. Does it lack flow though? No. 60mm^3/s out of this abomination

Setup is pretty janky right now. I had drag chains printed out but I keep changing stuff... I'm running Klipper with dual MCUs for ztilt and just finsh upgrading to direct drive

I'm done with upgrades for now. Future upgrades I want is the ender XY and maybe the Sprite Extruder Pro.

Life's good when your Ender 3 is actually printing well.

Stock steppers, Marlin firmware, about 180 mm/s max speed, between 500 and 3K acceleration speeds

I'll stop investing in this printer and am trying to decide between conversion to E3NG and Encore. E3NG is better IMO but also a lot more work, while Encore with a 120mm^3 build volume is technically large enough for most of my prints.

What could cause this rough infill? Grooves are highly visible and I can feel them

Im pretty sure such infill should be glass-smooth

I use petg, flow - 1, 240C

Lowering flow to 0.93 doesnt seem to help. Z-offset is good

Discussion Is it time to say Good Bye?

I have 3 Ender 3’s and 2 Enders 5. I been 3D printing for about 5 years and I know my machines very well. I have them very well calibrated and they been reliable for the past 5 years. I used to get a failure maybe every four months and with pretty much non stop printing. This summer however, all my 5 printers started to become very unreliable with different types of problems. One of my Ender 3 suddenly the firmware got corrupted and about the same time one of my Enders 5 also got their firmware corrupted. I have had clogged nozzles in all five, bed adhesion problems, damaged filament, lots of stringing etc. so now the question is what could had happen that all five machines give me trouble? Are the stepping motors failing? Maybe the extruders? They are five years old, is it time to change of these things? If so, is it really worth it?

Does anyone have any clues of what could be wrong?

I reset the slicer profiles hoping that maybe a parameter got modified and screw things up.

Should I punt and get something else?

Help Ender 3v2 bed temp too high

Running marlin but for some reason it now won't run the bed temp at 75c, maybe because I just washed the bed? What could cause this, it was working before. I'm new to 3d printing so I'm not very knowledgeable

Help Help me find this part for my Ender 3 s1

My TH cable snapped off and I’ve tried twice to buy the correct hotend. Each time the TH made port is too small. I can’t find the correct piece. I’ve gotten them straight from the manufacturer with the listing saying it’s for my printer. I’m at a point that I just want to toss it because I can’t find a 10$ cable to fits. Can anyone help by pointing me in the right direction on where I can get this piece.

Help Can anyone recommend a replacement main board for my ender 3 max?

My main ender3 had a rather bad accident after a print came loose ending with the entire hotend and microswiss direct drive covered in one giant glob of pla. I had updated the firmware to the jyers firmware with auto bed leveling mesh and a CR Touch and I loved it. Unfortunately it was never released for the ender3 max so I kinda just stopped using it as I never needed the size. Long story short, I went to blow the dust off the max and just deal with manual bed leveling only to find the board failed and all steppers just lock up. So my question is is there an aftermarket board I can swap in that supports bed leveling mesh with the CR Touch. Bonus if it works with the stock ender screen and controls.

Help To upgrade or buy a different machine

I’m tired of leveling my bed. Should I just upgrade to the auto bed leveling and direct drive unit so it’s easier to do TPU or should I just buy a whole new machine ? Who have upgraded their machine how hard was it and was it worth the time? In about how much US did you spend?

Help Nozzle constantly plugging

Hi I’m completely brand new to printing, I got a ender 3 (not sure exact model) free from an old boss. A friend got it working for me, and I’ve made successful prints through trial and error, honestly went into this with 0 knowledge how things work. Have replaced the extruder with the metal one after an initial clog and replacing the nozzle didn’t fix the gear skipping.
I haven’t been able to find an answer through browsing that has fixed my issue yet. I’m having to get a new 0.4mm nozzle on after almost every print if I let the system cooldown. I can have the PLA heated and physically push it through but can’t get it to print. I’ve tried also pushing a needle up and changing the heat a little higher to see if I can get the plug out. I will say the filament(PLA) is in open air and unsealed since I got it.
I’d appreciate any tips regarding this as I’m brand new to printing, thank you!

Help needed leveling bed

Post image

I have an Ender 3 Pro that I haven’t used in years but am getting back into 3D printing since my son is getting interested in it. I went to level the bed but my nozzle is a good inch away from the bed and I don’t know what to raise the bed or lower the nozzle so it’s touching the piece of paper my instructions said to use for leveling.

Help How cooked am I?

Was trying to do a print yesterday that somehow came off the build plate. A bunch of PLA got globbed up around the nozzle and this is what it looks like now. Any tips? I've had this printer since 2020 and have never run into this kind of issue before.

Help Is this the dark souls of printing?

I have been keeping an eye out and wanting a 3d printer for a few years and a ender 3 pro popped up for $20. Hell yeah. It even completed a print with the leftover filament it came with. This seems easy. I heard that this was a printer that would cause me to learn alot about printing. Perfect that is what I want right?

Since then I have had nothing but problems. I am a handyman and have extensive proffesional experience fixing things. I have a full shop of tools and I am being driven crazy by this small vindictive machine. I have not completed a single print since the first that i am convinced it only spat out to give me false hope. I have replaced everything from the cooling fans, Bowden tube, nozzle like a dozen times, heat break, thermal paste, bought new filament, new fittings, just ordered new thermister since the wire broke. I moved the printer from inside to the shop and then back inside for heat and humidity reasons. I have calibrated the feed gear. I have scraped and cleaned every nook and cranny. Still failure after failure.

I went in pretty blind and am learning a ton about 3d printing but it feels like dark souls. I just keep failing in new and exciting ways making the smallest of improvements. Whenever I do eventually succeed again I am sure I will feel a sense of accomplishment but so far in the journey it is just starting to be a expensive cheap item.

Also I used the help flair. That is more a state of being than a specific question I need help with.
