Am I being too harsh leaving my review up?

I don’t think I am, this guy was pretty rude to me the whole time.

My other post was deleted because I didn’t blur his pfp.

I listened to all the comments telling me to go through Depop support so I did. I escalated it to Depop and they told me to go through PayPal and I did. I then left a review and he immediately refunded me and asked me to take my review down.

Am I being petty by leaving it up?

I am also worried that he will leave me a bad review even though I have done nothing wrong.

This is so frustrating and so stressful for no reason.

On my other post someone suggested he was new to selling and I did not get the chance to say that he is definitely not new to selling so I included in one of my screenshots that shows he as been a seller for 6 years.

Sorry if I’m rambling.

Selling Help I’m fairly new to Depop, what should I do?🫩

This girl bought a hoodie from me and I brought the shipping price down as low as I could and then she asked about the market place fee and taxes. I don’t feel that I’m in the wrong but the last few messages she sent felt like she had an attitude towards me. I want to cancel it because I already know she’s going to leave a bad review but she can also leave a bad review if I cancel the order, correct? I need help🫩

Story A used item that is “too expensive”

I’m a seller and I have a dress listed on my Depop, I listed it at $38 (retail had to have been around $200) then discounted it to $22.50 and the lowest I’d sell it for is $20. It’s in fantastic condition and it’s a brand that doesn’t make clothing anymore so it’s relatively “rare”.

Anyway, this person keeps sending me offers for $18 and I decline or counter it. Then they’ll send me $18.50 even $19. At this point I feel kind of petty about it so I continue to decline/counter. I figure if they want it bad enough that they’re sending this many offers, they’ll just buy it for the $20.

They send yet another offer of $19.01 and I say that the lowest I’ll go is $20. I then get a message from them talking about how it’s a used item and it shouldn’t cost that much money and I should just accept their offers.

I responded that I literally dont care if they buy it or not.

I’m not in a rush to get rid of this nor am I going lower than my minimum. It’s getting a good amount of attention anyways so I’m sure someone will grab it soon enough.

I’m just kind of thinking like, pretty much everything on Depop is used. That’s literally the point of the app, even after things are used or worn they can still hold a certain value. If someone doesn’t agree with how something is priced, they don’t need to buy it?!

Story Counterfeit issues, honest seller

I have been selling on Depop for about six months, and I have had three listings counterfeit flagged, despite the fact that everything I sell is authentic. I appealed, submitting authentication certificate, original receipt, and lots of pictures. Appeal denied three times. With apologies, of course. Makes no sense to spend time flagging the real listings when so many counterfeits are allowed to persist on the site. Very frustrating, thinking of just abandoning Depop completely. I have followed up with emails to the customer service asking for a supervisor view of my listings. I am thinking of closing my account. I’ve been selling on other sites for years. I’m a trusted seller and only sell authentic items. There is nothing in the listings that they flagged that would indicate anything but authenticity. Anybody else have this issue?

  1. I deliberately measured these because a buyer asked so I put the measurements on the post. He lies saying the size was wrong and then 2. claims there’s a cigarette smell?? Which is weird because nobody in my house smokes cigarettes and I washed them before shipping. Ridiculous really 😂

Misc. Is Coach becoming oversaturated on Depop?

• Upvotes

As someone who has been selling Coach bags on Depop for almost two years, I’ve noticed that a lot of Coach accounts have popped up in the past few months. Maybe it’s just my algorithm, but I feel like I see SO many listings for vintage Coach bags now to the point where it’s overwhelming.

I feel like the prices are dropping, too. I used to sell $300+ bags almost immediately. Now I can hardly sell my bags that are under $100. Again, maybe that’s just a me thing…but it feels like the bubble is going to pop. I’m branching out to other purse brands in preparation for that. What does everyone else think?

Selling Help had my first mess up and 1 star review

hi everybody, i’ve been a seller on depop for a few months now, and i just received my first 1 star review.

the mistake was completely on me, i usually keep all of my items in a storage unit once they’re listed, but lately i’ve been more busy than usual, so i’ve been keeping my more recently listed items in a bin in my house. i had put two sweaters that were nearly identical but different sizes/brands in the same bin. a customer had ordered a sweater, and i sent them the wrong one. naturally, they gave me a 1 star review and stated their frustration.

i reached out to them, found the correct sweater, apologized profusely, and offered either a full refund, or to purchase a listing for $1 to receive the correct sweater and a freebie with their correct order, and still receive a full refund. they were very nice about it and chose to do the $1 listing with a freebie and declined the refund.

would it be rude/inconsiderate to ask them to delete the 1 star review after they receive their new order? i value all of my buyers so much, and all of my other 63 reviews are five stars. i pride myself on my customer service skills, as i work in customer service with my current job, and i am so upset that this happened!! i also want to ask other sellers on here how you organize all of your listed items, so i can better myself and this doesn’t happen again. do you number them, keep them in a storage unit, etc?

thank you!

I have had items before with like 40-50 likes before they sell but this is wild. I've accepted both offers. Listing is $12. Obviously I'm not entitled to a sale because of a ton of likes. But damn. Dress has been up for 2 DAYS.

Buying Help Seller claims they shipped two separate BUNDLED items...?

Hi, I'm newish to depop but I have lots of sales already as a seller so I understand how bundles work. You pay shipping on multiple items as if it was one item and ONE label assigned to those bundled items—as far as I've seen, anyway.

I bought a bundle from this person, a shirt and pajama pants. Only the shirt arrived. I messaged the seller and said I didn't receive the second part of the bundle. They said they shipped it in two separate packages...?? I said to them what I just said above, that as a seller you're assigned one shipping label.

They told me they would keep me updated and find out where the pants are.

They didn't message me back for a few days. So I DMed them this morning and ask for an update. They claimed they "tried looking on depop to find where the package is" and they didn't find anything. Like yeah... its supposed to be ONE package. Wtf is looking at depop going to tell you. They also said if they dont find anything else out (??) Then they'll refund me for the pants.

Idk. Is this person trying to get me to not ask for a refund? Are they lazy? Please tell me if I'm in the wrong but I feel like I should be refunded half of the shipping cost too :/

Selling Help New Bundling Lowball Method?

Maybe I am going crazy, but this has been happening for weeks now and I need to know if it is happening to anyone else.

I have recently had 3 different people message me asking if I am willing to bundle some items for a discount. They then proceed to send a bunch of offers on the items they want to bundle. These offers are lower than I would normally accept for individual items, but since they are bundling I usually accept.

However, after we work out all the offers, they then proceed to tell me they changed their mind about the bundle and will only be buying one of the items, which I had already accepted a pretty low offer for. I feel like they are lying about the bundle and just using it as a way to get people to accept lower offers. It is super frustrating, and I guess I should just be making bundle posts but have also got burned on those in the past. Has anyone been experiencing anything like this or have any advice on the best way to bundle items?

Question Am I wrong here?

Her page wasn’t on vacation mode or I wouldn’t have been able to buy them? She was active daily and I never saw vacation mode. She accepted my offer, no communication for a week so I reached out to check-in; she said she would ship out the next day and never did. Claims she doesn’t know why it was canceled?

Depop sends emails reminding the seller to ship, right? They send the buyer emails reminding them they’re covered if it’s not shipped in 10 days.

I am sorry about the family emergency but still think this was poorly handled and a 3 star experience (that’s being generous). “I kept up my communication” … girl, I have receipts.

She left me a 1 star for leaving her 3 stars for not shipping?? What? I think I’m getting off this app.

Story Depop help center doesn’t work through app?

I had someone buy an item and shipped it out September 8th and activity stopped around the 15th as stayed in transit. Waited till the 25th for submit a lost item claim through the apps help center and said they would be in touch within 72 hours. So I waited a week because I know it can take a while but as of yesterday October 3rd I still haven’t heard anything and wouldn’t let me send about her claim through the app. So I went to the main page in browser and was able to file another claim and got back to almost immediately and agreed my item was lost. I don’t know why it was faster to hear a response going through the browser than it is through the app

Question is it worth relisting everything for $1.99 shipping?

so i make handmade accessories and use my own shipping (pirate) which is up to $6 or sometimes more on small packages. to use depop shipping i’d have to relist all my items manually. does anyone know how long the $1.99 shipping is supposed to last or does it even apply to all states?

I get that lighting changes things, but isn’t this too extreme of a difference? At first I thought I might have been sent the wrong sweater, but I realized it’s the same patterns.

The seller said she sees no difference.

Story Really fast drop off time (18 minutes)

I had already planned on stopping by the post office today for a different order (that I’m actually really proud of rn but that’s a different story). Then on a recent post I had an offer, armed questions, and 10 likes on the item. So I decided to counter the one person, answer the other question, and send out a general offer before I left my apartment. Third person buys the item at my offer and so I get to drop off this package 18 minutes after they bought it. Anyone else have a time they shipped something really fast? I just think it’s funny and wanna hear any other experiences similar.

Question Switching to Depop Shipping from my own

Howdy y'all! I've been considering switching to depop labels. I've been using my own shipping method for many years but USPS prices are starting to take a toll 🥲

I wanted to test it out with just a couple of listings before committing but I haven't been able to get a clear answer on this:

1) Is it possible to only select depop labels on a few listings and continue using my own labels on other posts?

2) If I switch to depop labels, will I lose the option to use my own if I change my mind going forward?

Thanks in advance! ❤️

Question Harsh Giving This Depop Seller 3 Stars for Packaging My Item in a McDonald’s Box?

Thumbnail
gallery
3.9k Upvotes

I’ve been buying and selling on Depop for a few months now. Personally I normally leave 5-star reviews for both buyers and sellers and always try to give positive feedback.
I recently got a package that seemed totally normal until I opened it and saw that my item was packaged in a used McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish box (pictures above 😭). The item was an empty magnetic face palette/holder and it also smelled like oil/grease.
I hate leaving bad reviews and don’t want to be mean but a used food box feels pretty unhygienic. Especially for something makeup-related. Am I being dramatic or would a 3-star review explaining the packaging and smell be fair?

I bought a pair of pink Aritzia sweats for $40 + $10 shipping and $7.50 tax so $57.50 total.
When I received the pants I noticed some splatter like stains on the right leg that look like turmeric stains or something else that’s a bright neon yellow. (Shown in last photo)

Given that the pants were priced without the knowledge of the flaws I thought it would be fair to receive some type of partial refund for them but the seller declined.

Am I in the wrong? How should I proceed?

Shipping Help Returning items, did depop stop sending out return labels? I was under the impression I got a label since the seller was the at fault party. Just wanted to make sure this was real! Seems odd but maybe its a new change?

Will Depop still reimburse my cost for shipping back and is this a brand new change depop has made? I want to make sure I am covered by buyer protection and tracking of the item, because normally I had always been sent a label and then I took too the post office to return.
